Understanding who Jesus is, and who you are in Him,is foundational to experiencing God’s provision (2 Peter 1:2–3). The Church is built on the revelation of the person of Jesus (Matthew 16:16–18). He is the Son of God (John 1:34; Luke 1:35).
Many believers struggle not because God is unwilling to supply (Philippians 4:19), but because they have not rightly identified Jesus (John 1:10–12). If you don’t see Jesus as who God has revealed Him to be, you will not experience Him as you should (John 14:7).
Your perception determines your experience (Proverbs 23:7).
Many times, saints hide under the guise of “Lord, if it is Your will” (James 1:6–8), because the promises and inheritance of God feel too “free” to access (Romans 8:32; Ephesians 1:3). They are not obtained through tedious works, but by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 4:16).
To access your inheritance in the Lord, you must have the right identity (Romans 8:16–17; Galatians 4:6–7). Who are you? (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Right identity influences:
1. Your relationship with yourself;what you think about, say, and do concerning yourself
(Genesis 3:4–10; Luke 15:17–19; Matthew 4:3–10; Romans 12:2).
2. Your relationships with othersyour associations often shape your identification
(Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14).
3. Your perception of God and how you relate to Him
(Hebrews 11:6; Romans 8:15; John 4:23–24).
4. Your priorities concerning possessions, time, and resources
(Matthew 6:21, 33; Colossians 3:1–2; Luke 12:15). You are not defined by what you possess, who are you?
