What are you Saying

The Bible says the mercies of God are new every morning. According to God’s plan, every 24-hour cycle should bring new mercy. Why is yours different? Because your mouth is setting the wheel. The devil has placed dangerous drivers on the road of life, and accidents happen.

If you are driving and someone is coming toward you in a head-on collision, what do you do? You avoid them. When the next person speaks something crazy to you, avoid a collision. Some people are looking for accidents and may not even know it. The devil simply uses people to say things that others follow. You can defeat many of the devil’s strategies by keeping your mouth shut. But the devil waits until he can get you to say something.

Tell yourself: no mental challenge. What kind of mental challenge is that? Life is tough, but you are tougher. Life will present you with things to accept or things to fight for. Your mouth is the strongest weapon you have. “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain…”

When Jesus needed food, the fig tree was speaking, and He spoke back. The Bible says He answered and said to it, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter.” When did the fig tree speak? Life speaks.

When you are driving and your fuel gauge is almost empty, it has spoken to you, and you respond by buying fuel. Life is speaking every day—through problems, challenges, and situations. What do you say in response?

The word of your mouth is the mixer of faith. Hebrews chapters 3 and 4 explain this.

“Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”

What is the mixer? Your mouth is the mixer. How do you mix the Word with faith? When they said to Mary, “The power of the Highest shall come upon you,” she replied, “Be it unto me according to thy word.” She mixed it with her faith.

When Elisha said, “By this time tomorrow a measure of barley shall be sold for such a price, and a measure of wheat for such a price,” what mattered was what was coming out of people’s mouths.
What is coming out of your mouth?

Lift up your hands and pray for yourself: “Lord, I receive this Word. I change the way I speak. The Word of God will work for me. The Word of God is working on my behalf. My mouth is washed by the Word of God. No negative thing will come out of my mouth again, in the name of Jesus.”

I am praying for you today that there will be a divine warning system in your heart—that whenever you are about to say something that will complicate your future, the Holy Ghost will stop you at that point. You will say, “That is something I should not have said. I agreed with something I should not have agreed with,” and you will not move until you cancel it.

This is what the devil does: he looks for people you respect—well-meaning people who do not know God—and he uses them to rope you in. Someone asks, “Do Nigerian roads have death traps?” The devil is waiting for what you will say.
If you reply, “Yes, there are bad roads, but we will always go and return,” you have saved yourself and even saved the other person. But if you speak carelessly, the devil was not after them—it was you he was after. You are the danger to him, and since he cannot reach you directly, he looks for someone else to trap you.

I have ministered to doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. They stand at the junction of life and death in the hospital. The spirit of death is present, and angels are present. If people who do not know God speak anyhow about patients —somebody’s father, somebody’s mother—why did God place you there? Was it for you to speak like those who are ignorant of spiritual truth.

Shaped by words

Ps.45.1 - My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 - You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever.

In the Old Testament, when garments were made for beauty and glory to serve the Lord, God chose women He had anointed to weave those garments with skill. In the New Testament, God weaves garments on people’s lives through the words spoken by anointed fathers and mothers.

Anointed fathers and mothers must speak over their children. Do not allow a teacher to tell your child, “You are a dunce.” Cancel that word immediately. The only person who should have higher authority over your children’s lives than you is a Spirit-filled, Holy Ghost–anointed servant of God. Do not allow teachers to change the direction of your children. The Bible calls the husband the savior of the body of his wife. You have never included the office of a destroyer in that role. My dear, we must examine ourselves—what kind of words are coming out of you? Do you even understand the office of a husband?
Do you understand the office of a mother. I pray that you understand what it means to carry the pen of a ready writer—it is your tongue. I am describing what your tongue is according to the Scriptures. So when you are speaking, you are writing.
“My son, you will do well. It will go well with you. You will prosper.” You may ask, “Who is going to speak over me?” Lay hands on yourself and speak over yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “Boy, a miracle is about to happen. The Holy Ghost is on your side. Life will work for you.” My portion is wonderful. The lines are falling unto me in pleasant places. The Word of God is spoken to you to be spoken by you, to be acted upon by you, and to form the guidelines and boundaries of your life.

So that is the pen of a ready writer. Where do you write? You write on the hearts of men—your own heart and the hearts of others. Write something legible. Write something clear. Everybody is already speaking about you—what are you saying about yourself?

God says, “I am watching My word to perform it.” What word are you giving God to perform—the words the devil has spoken, or God’s Word? What are you saying about yourself? Nigeria will not happen to you—God will happen to you. The blood of Jesus will happen to you. Mercy will happen to you. Grace will happen to you. Favor will happen to you. You had better say what will happen to you.

Jeremiah 1:12 says, “You have seen well, for I am watching My word to perform it.” That is what God said. So when you speak His Word, He will perform it.
