π Topic: Strength During the Storm
Ministering: Pastor Femi
π Scripture Texts: Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 119:20, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 3:16
Message Summary
Storms are sudden occurrences that come unexpectedly and often unprepared for. They can drain a person spiritually, physically, emotionally, or otherwise. Challenges and battles are part of life, and as Christians, we cannot completely avoid them. Even in life, difficulties will surely arise.
However, the assurance we have is that God answers prayers. Sometimes storms can make a person see helpers as enemies because of fear and confusion.
Our confidence and assurance in Christ are found in the Word of God, especially in Isaiah 40:31. The Word of God carries life and power; therefore, as Christians, we must be careful about the words that come out of our mouths.
A weak Christian is often a prayerless Christian β one who cannot pray or study the Word of God consistently. It is through prayer and the Word that we draw strength from God.
We must intentionally create time daily to study the Word of God.
To Be Strengthened Means:
1. To receive fresh grace from God
2. To be empowered to overcome difficulties
3. To be revived after weakness
4. To receive courage to overcome battles
5. To stand firm in faith
We also draw strength through prayer. Even while walking or carrying out daily activities, we can still pray. Our inner man needs constant quickening and renewal.
God strengthens us through the Holy Spirit β Zechariah 4:6.
Some storms come suddenly like a time bomb β unexpectedly and without warning. Both believers and unbelievers face storms in life β Mark 4:37.
Once we allow Jesus into our boat, no storm can sink us β Deuteronomy 31:6.
God gives supernatural strength and power to the weak. Human strength will fail during the storms of life, but divine strength is available for believers. Fear not β Isaiah 40:29; Philippians 4:13.
As Christians, we must allow our faith to rise above fear β Matthew 14:29.
