Abraham's blessing

Galatians 3:13-14
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

For a very long time during the church service, when it is the time for offering collection. The choir doesn't have any other song other than “Abraham's blessings are mine”. This might not be the same narrative in other quarters or clime but I am very sure it is the norm in every church I found myself during my early days in the faith. We used to sing this song with all passion then, hoping for the blessings of Abraham. In most people's minds, this blessing is materialistic in nature. I want to believe this song is an upshot of the materialistic gospel, which in itself is another gospel and not the one the Lord handed to the apostle. I could also remember a song in Yoruba language we were also used to in those days, “Jesus flooded the ground with goodness, I picked it”. These and many more which space will not permit me to write are songs which the prosperity gospel smuggled into the church to rob us of our peace.

The Abrahamic blessing is never a material or physical but immaterial, it is a spiritual blessing.
Let me run you in summary through the background history of how Abraham came to the fore in the history of Christianity which stems from the tribe of Judah, one of the sons of Jacob.
As the earth is the creation of God but in the earth is the world(System of government). After the fall, man began to govern himself and kept drifting away from God. As the cosmos is a creation of God and not of the devil, for he created nothing, then God needed man to keep the cosmos(the natural world) going and beautiful so a man is needed to carry out this task. As it is known that the world has gone off course and is full of darkness yet God is an expert in bringing light out of darkness (Genesis 1:3).

Therefore, God sought out a man of the Chaldean of an idolatry background whom He had foreknown to have had another spirit (Joshua 24:2). He commanded him to leave his family, his clan and from his country to a land He will show him (Genesis 12:1-3). God wanted to raise a new family on the earth because the world at that time was corrupt. So He began a new lineage that would not follow the pattern of the corrupted world. The purpose was that the Messiah’s seed will be planted in the loins of Abraham and that through his lineage, Christ will come. Christ Jesus is indeed the blessing the world has received. This is the kind of blessing the world does not deserve, yet God’s mercy has made it available to us.
The coming of Christ Jesus to the earth realm and that all the nations of the world would be blessed was the purpose for the promise unto Abraham. (Genesis 22:18)
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Himself didn't see the promise fulfilled but yet hoped for the fulfillment someday but in our days(blessed days) we saw it fulfilled (Hebrews 11:13).

All that being said, the seed God told Abraham that in Him will all the nations of the earth be blessed, is the Lord Jesus Christ. As the scripture says “the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent” (Genesis 3:15). Jesus Christ is the seed and He had bruised brutally the head of the serpent (Colossians 2:15). The promised blessing is the Holy Spirit, as the Lord Jesus Christ said, “I send the promise of the Father upon you”. (Luke 24:49).
So, Abraham's blessing is not materialistic in nature but of the spirit, although God does bless and prosper physically but that should not be your goal as God's child. Strive to be full of the Holy Ghost and material blessings shall gravitate towards you.
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, show me mercy that I will not miss what you have for me in this season in Jesus' name.

CHRIST MANDATE TO THE WORLD

The good shepherd (Part2)

Psalms 23:1
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

It is the responsibility of the shepherd to make sure his herd is well secured and preserved. While they are in the wilderness, beasts around them would also be lurking, looking for an opportunity to launch an attack. King David had a first hand experience of this while he was in the wilderness as a shepherd. He knows how some dangerous animals used to invade his fold but he always makes sure his fold is secured by fighting back and killing those beasts. The presence of the herders, majorly scares those beasts away from the flock, therefore the sheep's safety is then guaranteed.
The scripture says “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). This is so important to note, that your protection is certain when the Lord is with you. You must be within His fold and be subjected to Him and not without His fold. His responsibility is to as many as have accepted Him to be Lord over them. I can assure you no matter how hard the enemy goes against you, let them gather against you, in as much as you are within the fold of the Lord Jesus Christ, they will surely fall for your sake (Isaiah 8:9-10, 54:15).

The rod in the hand of the shepherd is never for fun or decoration but effectively for scaring away predators and used as a weapon to fight them to make sure the sheep are secured. The rod symbolises the authority of God's word and its effectiveness over us and against the enemy. Just as the shepherd strikes predators, believers use scripture to repel spiritual attacks and "fiery darts” (Ephesians 6:16).
The holy scripture provides comfort because God’s truth is unshakeable, even when emotions or circumstances shift.
The rod also represents the chastening of a loving Father (Hebrews 12:6). It is the nudge that prevents a soul from wandering off a spiritual cliff. God's discipline proves you are indeed His child; the strike of the rod is actually a sign of His commitment to your growth. The word as a rod in God's hand wakes the soul from complacency and brings it back to alertness and prayer.

The school of thought in some quarters that enemies should or must die, is never God's idea. Some hard-headed enemy who goes beyond their boundaries, God knows how to take them out and not your job to ask God that they should be taken out. That is not God's intention for us and that arena is not within our jurisdiction as God's children but His. Your job is to stay within His fold, staying within His will by doing His business as you are commanded, then leave the rest of the job to Him to finish.
While you are within His fold, He will prepare a rich table before you in the presence of your enemies, and there is nothing they can do, because God is with you (Psalm 23:5)

As God’s child, you are richly anointed with the Holy Spirit. You are filled for a specific purpose, for without this infilling, you can do nothing in God’s kingdom. Moreso, just as shepherds put oil on sheep's heads to keep flies away, God’s anointing protects your mind from the pests of worry and bitterness.
When your cup runs over according to the text, it means God’s grace exceeds the actual need. It also implies that your satisfaction in God isn't barely met; it is overflowing into the lives of others.
Your joy will remain at a surplus. Joy overflows!

Your experience would be that goodness and mercy becomes your boon companion, because you daily abide within His fold and never try to have a taste of the world outside His kingdom. His will is your will and nothing more.
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, let me not wander away from your fold and let not the blessings within your fold be alien to me in Jesus' name.

God is ever mindful of you.

I remain your brother in Christ.

The good shepherd (Part1)

Psalms 23:1
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Lord said “I know my sheep and my sheep knows me” (John 10:14). In this case the Lord is saying His sheep willingly submit to Him to be Lord over them. There are many who have found their way into the fold but have never seen the Lord as their Lord nor do they submit to Him as sheep. This is a chaotic situation not peculiar to this generation alone but has ever been this way, because the devil also wants to be worshipped. Little wonder, he demanded worship from the Lord in the wilderness in exchange for instant world gratification (Luke 4:5-8). There are no two ways about it, if the Lord is not your Lord indeed, He cannot be responsible for what is yours. You cannot commit anything in the hand of whom you have no relationship with. The Lord is indeed a good and great shepherd who when He is in charge of your life, He will make sure you are well secured and provided for according to His will but they who are without His fold He is not responsible for.

When you are the Lord's sheep He knows how to lead you to where the pasture is greener. The earth is the Lords’ and the thousands of cattle on a hill also belong to Him. As His sheep you can never be stranded in life, no matter how life hits you, He will make sure you are in a place where divine resources will not be lacking in your life. During the famine, after Elijah had prayed that the Lord would shut up the heavens so that no rain or dew would fall on the land, because the people had gone after Baal. The Lord led him to a brook and there He sent ravens to feed him for many days. Afterwards, the brook dried, the Lord then led him to a widow in Zarephath to feed him for many days again (2Kings 17:1-9). If a man completely yields to the Lord, he will enjoy God's leading. The Lord knows the ways through the wilderness and He will help you to navigate it till you get to your fertile land (Romans 8:14).
Some people are seeking for greener pastures abroad but according to the Lord's will, it is already in their local land. Let the Lord lead you, you won't miss your way.

He who will lead you to where the pasture is greener, He is capable also to lead you to where the still water is and not where crises are but a peaceful existence. King David penned down this Psalm twenty three based on his experience as a herder herding his father flock in the wilderness for many years. From experience as a herder, he knows where the water is calmer for the sheep to drink from. It is the responsibility of the shepherd to lead his sheep to where the water is calmer and good for their health (Psalm 46:4)

The Lord as a good shepherd also restores us by the way of renewing our souls, whenever we are weak and losing hope already, then He reactivates our hope in Him. Sometimes, you might be fainting as a result of life's challenges yet the Lord as a good shepherd will restore you and encourage you by coming through for you. That would be an assurance that He never forsakes you.
God cares for you holistically: your mind, your will, your emotions. He doesn’t only fix circumstances; He restores what’s happening within.
He also leads you in the path of righteousness by aligning you to His character and truth. This path is a sure way void of any invasion of darkness. Sometimes, God may disallow you from taking an offer because He knows that offer is a trap from the pit of hell. This is one of the ways He leads you in the path of righteousness (Matthew 11:28)
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, give me the heart of a sheep in Jesus' name.

God is ever mindful of you.

I remain your brother in Christ.

Judge not (Part2)

Luke 6:36-38
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

As it is known to all that judgement ultimately belongs to God, then we should be very careful when judging others. Some have mastered and are quick to judge or condemn others what seems to them as wrong. It is important to know that no man can ever be without erring whether by commission or by omission (Matthew 7:1-5). Our perfection is by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, as righteousness was imputed on us, so also perfection. So it is not by work of righteousness but by faith alone. Even right from the direct disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ and the early Christian and the men of mighty faith in our contemporary world, by studying the church history you would come to an understanding that no man can be without error yet God used them mightily but never dealt with them based on their frailties as men.

There are those who are fond of judging others on everything as if they also are without error. As we are in the height of the usage of the internet and social media platforms has now become a place where people are being judged or condemned. Even some men of God who have not fine-tuned their divine assignment would go on the internet condemning others while they have in their eyes a log of wood.
I used to know a brother some times ago, in fact I would say I have not seen such a kind of man before. There is absolutely nothing he cannot condemn, thinking he knows everything and that he is only a perfect person and his own life is full of errors, in fact in major aspects of his life. Our Lord Jesus Christ doesn't only preach the kingdom but also do the work of humanity (Matthew 9:36). Some people have no iota of humanity in them and as much as we are still on this side of eternity, humanity would be needed for the world to go round.

Whatever you judge or condemn others for, you also will be tested with and you might not pass it (Galatians 6:1). That is why we should pray for the person who is failing in an area, for he might be that the devil is tempting him. When the devil is tempting, it is similar to when a computer hacker wants to hack into a system and keeps penetrating through cracking to look for the vulnerability of the security frame of the system, until he succeeds. The one the devil is tempting would not fall into his trap, if the brethren prays for him without an atom of condemnation. Some believers of this era expect others who are doing well in life and also are well known to fail. That is evil and I tell you whatever a man expects for others would eventually come his way.
That is what the anchored scripture is talking about, what you wills for others will certainly come back to you in many folds whether good or bad.

Never be judgmental toward anyone, because you might find yourself in their situation one day. Life has a way of paying us back what we did to others whether good or bad. No one will escape it. The public officers you are judging today, if you find yourself in their shoes tomorrow would you have done better than them. Believers in Christ indeed don't condemn others, instead they pray for them that they don't fall into the trap of the devil (James 2:13).
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, forgive me in any area I have been condemning others instead of praying for them in Jesus' name.

God is ever mindful of you.

I remain your brother in Christ.

Judge not (Part1)

Luke 6:36-38
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Some people have so mastered seeing specks in others eyes but ignoring the plank in theirs. This is hypocrisy of the highest order, full of judgement and confining people to hell. Meanwhile, they also are a bonafide candidacy of the same hell (Matthew 7:3-5). Having the mentality of always judging people's ways of life, while neglecting their frailties as men is hypocritical. As God's priest and mouthpiece on the earth, one thing that must first be settled in your heart is that God doesn't call or assign you such a reverend position based on your perfection but perfect you because He called you. Someone who has not preached the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ to people, is so high in raining judgement and condemning people. This is in fact not the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The one thing I am so sure of, is that there are great numbers of persons who had not heard of the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ but are only attached to going to church and owing to their familiarity in the church activities, they are being assigned positions in the church and as time goes on they become leaders or pastor. These people who do not understand the gospel nor have they encountered the Lord, become speakers for the Lord. This is an assumption and has ravaged the church communities, becoming torn in the flesh of the body of Christ. These people also need to hear the gospel and must be presented to them with Godly wisdom and not with the heart of condemnation.
A bulk of people we call ministers of God, do not know the God they represent and as a result misrepresentation is inevitable.

How can someone who does not have salvation experience and be circumcised in the heart preach the gospel? They were recruited into someone's ministry as a footsoldier to defend his ministry in what it is called (sons of prophet).
I deliberately explained how many of the challenges of this era and various accursed things have found their way into the body of Christ. Then judging or condemning them at times has no need but making known to them the gospel in its original state. The gospel has in it the transformative power, no one who had heard the gospel would deny such a power. Anyone who has truly heard the gospel of Jesus Christ will testify that his or her life has been transformed, but anyone who has not heard the gospel lacks its power (Romans 1:16).

One has to be careful how you arrive at judging people rudenessly without first being preached to. Though, the scripture says “but him that is spiritual, judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no one”. This is not a license to judge or condemn people but that those who are spiritually sound will see it clearly and know how to salvage it and that God would be glory eventually and not to fuel one's ego (1 Corinthians 2:15).
Ultimate judgment over man belongs to God alone.
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, grant me the wisdom and grace to lead back to You those who have strayed, in Jesus’ name.

God is ever mindful of you.

I remain your brother in Christ.

CHRIST MANDATE TO THE WORLD

April 24, 2026

God's seekers

Psalms 34:10
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

There are practices in this era that are mistaken for seeking God, yet they amount to nothing more than mere religion (Matthew 15:8). In as much as it is very important to be part of a local assembly to worship God with brethren and most especially when it is mainly to be nurtured for ministry or be discipled, which is the essence of every local assembly. Attending every church activity just to fulfil all righteousness is a mere activity and will never amount to any significant spiritual growth. I have seen persons who had already been frustrated after many years of being a member of a local assembly. Their frustration is tailored to the fact that, for many years, they have been engaged in religious activity with men without having a relationship with God. They are well known of men but God does not know them, neither were they noted in hell.

Another angle of the frustration is that they have been indoctrinated that their being religious will eventually amount to material wealth. Little wonder Karl Marx said “Religion is the o***m of the people”. In as much as God does bless materially but such dimensional blessing is to the degree of your knowledge of God and how you seek Him.
You can be in church for donkey years and don't know God. Do not misunderstand me, serving God is a very good thing and it is noble. Also it is part of our obligations as human beings to serve God with all hearts but the idea of being too churchy is a turn off for God and it leads to frustration.
Some just want to be known in the church, either in the choir or in any other departments not for the Lord but for the gram.

Those who seek the Lord are not known for showing off but are rarely seen, for their walk with God is more of a secret place. You will hardly see them praying except when it is a corporate prayer in the church. They are so intentional about their walk with God for they prefer building their inner man to the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). They would never dabble into anything until they hear from God. Waiting on the Lord is indeed their strength (Isaiah 40:31). They strive to know the mind of God every now and then by staying with the word to know His mind and praying it (the mind of God). They knew seeking God's kingdom wholeheartedly will soften the land for them to have their materials needs met (Matthew 6:33). This is the secret of the ancient and it does work any time, any day.

Even the lion who knows how to hunt in the jungle, due to the unique physical features God endowed it with, also lacks food. Its prey sometimes escapes its hunt into its holds but the scripture affirmed that whosoever seeks the Lord does not lack any good thing. What does that imply to you? Seeking the Lord wholeheartedly positions you for God’s blessings, both spiritually and materially.
I counsel you, seek the Lord always.
Maranatha!

Prayer action:

Father, draw me to your secret place by your mercy, I want to know you the more in Jesus' name.

God is ever mindful of you.

I remain your brother in Christ.
