A BRIEF HISTORY OF MISSIONARY SONS OF ST. PADRE PIO. ( MSSP)
The Missionary sons of St. Padre Pio ( MSSP), began as a group " spiritual children of St. Padre Pio", both Kenya and Nigeria mission .As the group began their works of Mercy by taking care of the poor, the sick, the homeless and the children on the streets.
The group " spiritual children of St. padre Pio" begins with both gender married and unmarried, as the group stayed about one year and half, some young men were are coming to the group chairman with a zeal of to be formed as a brotherhood and priesthood
Then, the Congregation of the Missionary sons of St. Padre Pio was founded by Rev. bro, Lazarus, both Kenya and Nigeria and Rev. Bro, Joel Maria murimi, is a local superior of Missionary sons of St. padre Pio Kenya mission. And now the mission have two phases " The Lay Members of Missionary sons of St. Padre Pio" and Rev. Brothers of Missionary sons of St. Padre Pio," both works in charism and apostolate.
The MSSP Congregation is the Consecrated Life therefore, its members make a public profession of the evangelical counsels -Obedience, Poverty and Chastity.
MSSP is an Institute of priests and brothers who share the same rights and duties in line with the charism and spirituality of the Congregation save for those arising from ordination.
The Congregation began with five brothers in the group of spiritual children of St. Padre Pio, thereafter fifteenth invited aspirants out of which Nine were granted admission. At this point without a mother house, but they were working hard to have a permanent house of formation which will be a mother house. After the formation of brothers and the mission find them worthy to send them for the studies.
