It is a natural for man to have longings. Longing is a feeling of wanting something or someone very much. It may be food or traveling to a particular location. For example, I have longed to travel to Niagara Falls in the United States of America. In this article, we look at what Abraham longed for during his lifetime in line with the Christmas season. Before doing this, we must appreciate God, who made us alive at this time of the year.

The Christmas celebration is focused on the birth of Jesus. Without Christ, there will be no Christmas. I always wonder why the whole world kept celebrating a man whose influence on earth was not political. Stronger kings and politicians have come and gone and are not remembered like we always remember Christ annually. In fact, we always have two holidays centered on him alone: one for his death and resurrection (easter) and the other for his birth (christmas).

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw it and was glad.

Above were the words of Jesus. Jesus said Abraham longed to see his days. The Jews and religious leaders who heard Jesus say this was mad at him because Jesus was not up to fifty years old at the time. Between Abraham and Jesus, there are two thousand years. Hence, they are unable to reconcile Jesus' claim. No attempt would be made in this article to determine what Jesus meant by his claim, nor would I make any effort to indicate how Father Abraham saw Jesus’ days.

Rather, a brief examination of why Abraham longed for the days of Jesus will be explored. Men of certain stature do not long for some things because they can access them. For instance, the driver or chauffeur of the Nigerian president may long to be introduced to the ambassador of the United States, but the Nigerian president will have no such longing.

Looking at Abraham's stature, wealth, influence, and greatness, his longing for Jesus means Jesus is of a higher stature. Abraham already had a relationship with God and could hear God, yet he longed for Jesus’ days. Remember, it is a common saying that if the wise men sought Jesus, surely it is the right thing for anyone to do. Evidently, Abraham is greater than all the wise men because he is regarded as the father of faith. No other bible character compares to this great man. Regardless of Abraham's stature, he longed for the days of Jesus.

There are different types of prophets, and even within a kind, the operation differs. Unfortunately, the prophetic expression in the churches historian refers to as Aladura (C.A.C, T.A.C., C&S, etc.) has become our stereotype in this part of the world.

Several genuinely called young prophets are under unnecessary pressure because they are yet to operate in the dimension of Baba Abiyes and Babajides of this world. This pressure has made many connect with familiar spirits and demons consciously or unconsciously (Miokukusheshe).

Know that these dimensions were necessary for the darkness they confronted during their days, and it took them time to reach such heights.

Your dimension may differ, and it is best to stay with the word of God. Avoid ungodly comparison. Do not become another prophet suddenly.

I am not a member of his ministry but my facts are from his sermons and his book titled Why Me? Prophet Timothy Funso Akande was born on November 12, 1956, to Baba Abiye. Although Prophet Funso was the son of Baba Abiye, he did not get born again at an early age. He once said he and his friends would smoke around the Abiye mountain. What made him narrate the story was when some folks were found doing the same around the prayer mountain, and he wanted to curse them. However, he said God reminded him of his sinful past life and refrained from cursing them.

God took prophet Funso to many schools that equipped me. In these schools, his curriculum and scheme of work do not reflect that he was the son of Baba Abiye. Because it is expected that life would be an easy ride for the son of Baba Abiye, it is expected that all the prayers Baba Abiye prayed would give prophet Funso a head start in life and ministry with no rough patches. The prayers worked but did not protect him from the wilderness experience. The core of his message today is how God took him out of his wilderness. The difference between him and other preachers is that he would not hide any details of his wilderness experience.

We are not waiting till the last week of the year 2022 before we start praying for the coming year.
Throughout November we shall be praying 30 minutes daily (8-8:30pm; rebroadcast 10-10:30pm) and you will surely encounter God in Jesus name.

We must realize that wickedness and deceit are tools that the household enemy always use. The household wickedness becomes unhappy to see anyone enjoy good things of life. For instance, enjoying: a marriage, good health, educational advancement, and financial breakthrough makes household wickedness uncomfortable.

They make attempt to kill the joy of the good things of life and replace with the pains and sorrow of divorce, unemployment, sickness, backwardness, poverty and failure.
