The Fourth Sunday of Lent (Laetare Sunday)
We are to reflects on the journey of spiritual growth, using the parable of the prodigal son and the Israelites' journey to the Promised Land as metaphors. This emphasizes that:

1. God's mercy and forgiveness are available to us in our early stages of spiritual growth (like the younger son).
2. As we mature, we transition from being "younger sons" to "older sons," expected to take responsibility and live according to God's will.
3. We should not envy those still struggling with sin, but instead focus on bearing fruit and using God's grace to live a life pleasing to Him.

The readings encourages Us to stay close to God, putting His grace into action, and living as mature Christians in the "Promised Land" of our spiritual journey.

THE SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT.
"As we journey through Lent, let's remember to take time to retreat and connect with God. Just as Abraham and the apostles had to leave their familiar surroundings to encounter the Lord, we too need to step away from our daily routines to rediscover ourselves and deepen our relationship with Him. Let's use this season of Lent to 'go outside' and 'up the mountain' - to find quiet, to reflect, and to renew our spirits."

God's plans and choices often surprise us, and no one is an outsider in God's eyes.

The story of David's anointing and Eldad and Medad's unexpected receipt of God's spirit highlight God's unpredictable choices. Despite human rejection or oversight, God's plans unfold. Joshua and John tried to restrict God's spirit, but God's will prevails.

Recognize God's sovereignty and avoid narrow-mindedness. Welcome surprises and remember that before God, no one is an outsider.

Lord, cure our narrow-mindedness and help us see Your beloved ones in everyone, especially those we consider outsiders.
Happy Sunday dearest and have a blessed filled day.

Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta—Memorial
1910–1997
Patron Saint of Calcutta and the Missionaries of Charity

Patron Saint of Calcutta and the Missionaries of Charity
Prayer: Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the Thirst of Christ so permeated your soul that you experienced His longing within the depths of your being. This Thirst drove you to charity, endlessly searching for every way possible to bring satiation to our Lord in the distressing disguise of the poor and suffering. Please pray for me, that I will be freed of every selfish motivation in life so that I can give myself to others, freely and wholeheartedly, as an instrument of the Most Merciful Heart of Jesus. Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, pray for me. Jesus, I trust in You.

The 22nd Sunday of the ordinary time of the church.

The Gospel reading (Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23) highlights Jesus' clash with Pharisees who prioritized ritual washing over caring for the hungry and homeless. Jesus encourages focusing on the "Higher Law" of love, mercy, and justice. The Gospel concludes by emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the needs of others, such as feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless, over religious rituals and traditions. Thus the last judgment will be based on our actions towards others, Matthew 25:35-40.

July 11: Saint Benedict, Abbot—Memorial

Prayer: Saint Benedict, you witnessed the moral corruption in Rome at an early age and fled to the wilderness to seek out God’s will. Through your prayerful obedience to God’s will, inestimable good fruit has been borne. Please pray for me that I will always seek out God’s will in my life, leaving behind the many temptations to sin that I encounter, so that God can use me in ways known only to Him. Saint Benedict, pray for me. Jesus, I trust in You.
