Beloved youths, friends, and members of the ECWA family, you are warmly invited to participate in the 2026 EYFI Youth Week of Prayer, a special week dedicated to prayer, worship, Bible study, evangelism, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

📅 Date: Monday, 27th July – Sunday, 2nd August 2026

As we journey toward the celebration of EYFI @ 50 (1977–2027), this year's Youth Week of Prayer provides a unique opportunity for every young person to rekindle their passion for God, strengthen their faith, and shine as a light in this generation.

This is more than a programme; it is a call to spiritual awakening. Let us gather to seek God's face, grow in His Word, impact our communities, and prepare ourselves for greater service in His Kingdom.

*THE NEW STRUCTURE OF ECWA*

*1. General Church Council (GCC)*
The General Church Council (GCC) shall remain the highest governing body of ECWA. The head of the GCC shall be known as the ECWA International President (EIP).

*2. Regional Church Council (RCC)*
The Regional Church Council (RCC) shall oversee ECWA activities within designated regions. The head of the RCC shall be known as the ECWA International Vice President (EIVP).

*3. National Church Council (NCC)*
The National Church Council (NCC) shall coordinate ECWA operations within individual countries. The head of each NCC shall be known as the ECWA National President (ENP).

However, in the case of Nigeria, the ECWA International Vice President shall serve as the head of the Nigerian National Church Council.

*4. Zonal Church Council (ZCC)*
The Zonal Church Council (ZCC) shall function as the administrative body overseeing designated zones. The head of the ZCC shall be known as the ECWA Zonal Overseer (EZO).

*5. District Church Council (DCC)*
The District Church Council (DCC) shall supervise churches within each district. The head of the DCC shall be known as the District Overseer.

*6. Area Church Council (ACC)*
The Area Church Council (ACC) shall coordinate churches within specific areas under the district structure. The head of the ACC shall be known as the ECWA Area Overseer (AO).

*7. Local Church Board (LCB)*
The Local Church Board (LCB) shall serve as the administrative body of the local church congregation. The head of the LCB shall be the Local Church Pastor.

*COMPOSITION OF THE GENERAL CHURCH COUNCIL (GCC)*

The General Church Council shall consist of the following members:

1. *The International Leadership Team:*
- ECWA International President (EIP)
- Six ECWA International Vice Presidents (EIVPs)

2. *Representatives from Other Nations:*
- ECWA National Presidents (ENPs)
- ECWA National Administrators (ENAs)
- Delegates
- Chairman of the Trustee Board

3. *Representatives from Nigeria:*
- Zonal Overseers
- Zonal Administrators
- Delegates
- Trustees from the Zones

4. *International Departmental Heads, including:*
- Women Fellowship International Leaders
- Men Fellowship International Leaders
- Youth Fellowship International Leaders

All members listed above shall possess voting rights during General Church Council proceedings.

*WEDNESDAY, 22 APRIL*
*TEXT: JUDGES 14:1-7*
*TOPIC: GOD'S PLAN THROUGH SAMSON*

*JUDGES 14:1-7 [NIV]*

1: Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman.

2: When he returned, he said to his father and mother, “I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife.”

3: His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?”

But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.”

4: (His parents did not know that this was from the Lord, who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)

5: Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward him.

6: The Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

7: Then he went down and talked with the woman, and he liked her.

*GOD'S PLAN THROUGH SAMSON*

Samson, now a young man, sought his parents' guidance in choosing a wife but insisted on marrying a philistine, Israel's enemy.

His parents questioned his choice, but God planed to use this situation to confront the philistines.

Samson demonstrated his unique nature when the Spirit empowered him to kill a lion.

This story illustrates that God can use any situation for His purpose, even when it seems wrong by human standards.

*QUESTION:* Have you seen God at work unexpectedly in your life?

*PRAYER:* I surrender my life to You, dear God, use me as You will, even when I don't understand, in Jesus' name. Amen.
