MAHUKUNTA 1:11–19

11:Daga can s**a tafi su yaƙi Debir wadda a dā ake kira Kiriyat-Sefer.

12:Kalibu ya ce, “Duk wanda ya fāɗa wa Kiriyat-Sefer da yaƙi har ya ci ta, zan ba shi 'yata Aksa aure.”

13:Sai Otniyel ɗan Kenaz, ƙanen Kalibu ya ci birnin da yaƙi, Kalibu kuwa ya ba shi 'yarsa Aksa aure.

14:Da ta zo wurinsa, ta iza shi ya roƙi mahaifinta saura. Da ta sauka daga kan jakinta, sai Kalibu ya ce mata, “Me k**e so?”

15:Sai ta amsa masa, “Ka yi mini alheri, da yake ka tura ni a ƙasar Negeb, ka ba ni maɓuɓɓugan ruwa.” Kalibu kuwa ya ba ta maɓuɓɓugan tuddai da na kwari.

16:Zuriyar Bakene, surukin Musa kuwa s**a fita tare da mutanen Yahuza daga birnin dabino, wato Yariko, s**a tafi jejin Yahuda da take a Negeb kudu da Arad. A can s**a zauna tare da Amalekawa.

17:Yahuza kuwa da ɗan'uwansa, Saminu, s**a tafi s**a bugi Kan'aniyawan da suke zaune a Zefat. S**a la'anta birnin, s**a hallaka shi, s**a sāke wa birnin suna Horma, wato hallakarwa.

18:Yahuza kuma ya ci Gaza da karkararta, da Ashkelon da karkararta, da Ekron da karkararta.

19:Ubangiji kuwa yana tare da Yahuza, ya mallaki ƙasar tuddai, amma bai iya korar waɗanda suke zaune a fili ba, domin suna da karusan ƙarfe.

ALLAH YANA MAYARWA MUGU DA MUGUNTA

Babu wani abu mai girma kamar samun yardar Allah tare da da kai.

Yahuda sun kai hari a yankunan da ke makwabtaka da su don samun damar zama. S**a kuma fadawa Kan’aniyawan da suke zaune a Negeb, da kasar tudu ta yamma, da Hebron.

YAKUBU 4:13-17

13:To, ina masu cewa, “Yau ko gobe za mu je gari kaza, mu shekara a can, mu yi ta ciniki, mu ci riba”?

14:Alhali kuwa ba ku san abin da gobe za ta kawo ba. Wane iri ne ranku? Ai, kamar hazo yake, jim kaɗan sai ya ɓace.

15:Sai dai ya kamata ku ce, “In Ubangiji ya nufa, ya kai rai, ma yi kaza da kaza.”

16:Amma ga shi, kuna fariya ta alfarmar banza da kuke yi. Duk irin wannan fariya kuwa muguwar aba ce.

DUK SHIRYE-SHIRYEN DA BABU ALLAH CIKI BASU DA KYAU

TOPIC: THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

JAMES 3:1-6 NIV

1:Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

2:We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

3:When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.

4:Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

5:Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

6:The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

HE POWER OF THE TONGUE

James emphasises the responsibility of teachers in communicating God's word.

He points out reckless speech can lead to serious consequences, referencing Jesus' warning in Matthew 12:36-37 about every careless word being accountable.

With the average person speaking 16,000 to 20,000 words daily, it's crucial to be careful with our words.

This applies especially to teachers, pastors, and anyone in a communicative role. Ponder on Proverbs 10:32.

TOPIC: FAVOURITISM CONDEMNED I

JAMES 2:1-7 NIV

1:My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.

2:Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in.

3:If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,”

4:have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

5:Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

6:But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?

7:Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?

FAVOURITISM CONDEMNED I

Favouritism can be overt, like nepotism, or subtle, such as inappropriate respect for status.

It’s essential to honour those who are worthy without crossing into favouritism, which can create inequity in resource distribution.

Christians in power must reflect Jesus’ character and resist favouritism, as we are called to be lights in the world.

God shows no favouritism but accepts all who fear Him.

QUESTION: Are you experiencing favouritism as a victim or beneficiary?

PRAYER: Lord, help me avoid partiality towards any group.
