MONDAY 11TH AUGUST, 2025.

SUB-THEME: YOUTHS: LIVING IN THE KNOWLEDGE Of CHRIST.

TOPIC: MAKE NO EXCUSES.

TEXT: JEREMIAH 1:4-8.

4 This message from the LORD came to me:

5 “I knew you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart for me before you were born; I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.” Gal 1:15

6 I replied, “Ah, LORD God! Look, I don’t know how to speak, because I’m only a young man.” Exo 3:1-22 Exo 4:1-31 Exo 6:12 Exo 6:30

7 Then the LORD told me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a young man,’ for you will go everywhere I send you, and you will speak everything I command you.

8 Don’t be afraid of them, because I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD. Deu 31:6 Deu 31:8 Jos 1:5 Eze 3:9 [Jer 20:11] [Eze 2:6] [Mat 10:26] [Mat 10:28] [Luk 12:4] [1Pe 3:14]

TOPIC: MAKE NO EXCUSES.

MESSAGE:
God is interested in using the youth to fulfill his plans. He set apart Jeremiah for the prophetic ministry right from the womb. But Jeremiah made excuses. He saw himself as a child and unable to speak, so not a good choice for the task. Age and inexperience are not barriers to those who submit to God's will. Today, our hopes and personal plans for life often stands as barriers to yielding to God when he commissions us to particular tasks. Some members have declined their election or appointment to shoulder church responsibilities. Some have rejected the calling to pastoral ministry. What is your attitude towards God's work? Do not feel inadequate or incompetent. The one who calls equally equips. Submit and be cheerful and diligent in your service.

REFLECTION:
God equips those he calls.

PRAYER:
Lord, thank you for equipping me for your service. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: JOHN 3:3.
"Jesus replied, very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."

TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN: JEREMIAH 36-39.

THURSDAY 7TH AUGUST, 2025.

SUB-THEME: YOUTHS: LIVING IN THE KNOWLEDGE Of CHRIST.

TOPIC: AVOID UNGODLY RELATIONSHIP.

TEXT: JUDGES 14:1-3; 16:4-6.

JUDGES 14:1-3.

1. Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman.
2. When he returned, he said to his father and mother, "I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife."
3. His father and mother replied, "Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?" But Samson said to his father, "Get her for me. She’s the right one for me."

JUDGES 16:4-6.

4. Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah.
5. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, "See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so we may tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver."
6. So Delilah said to Samson, "Tell me the secret of your great strength and how you can be tied up and subdued."

TOPIC: AVOID UNGODLY RELATIONSHIP.

MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we learned that a youth must acknowledge God in his dealings. God had told the Israelites not to intermarry with the ungodly; else they will mar their reputation as holy and covenant people. In these texts, Samson fell in love with a Philistine woman, contrary to God's command. Although his parents opposed his intention, Samson insisted, "Get her for me, she's the right one for me". He later married Delilah; who became the reason for his moral and spiritual ruin and subsequent death. The scripture cautions that the lips of the adulteress drip honey but it end as bitter as gall (Prov. 5:3-5). This was Samson's case! Youth, seek God's will for marriage, and do not defy godly counsel in matters of marriage. Do not marry someone with the hope of changing them.

REFLECTION:
Ungodly relationship is destructive.

PRAYER:
Father help

WEDNESDAY 30TH JULY, 2025.

SUB-THEME: PEOPLE WHO LIVED IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST.

TOPIC: SUSANNA.

TEXT: LUKE 8:1-3.

1 After this, Jesus traveled from one city and village to another, preaching and spreading the good news about God’s kingdom. The Twelve were with him,

2 as well as some women who had been healed of evil spirits and illnesses: Mary, also called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out; Mat 27:55-56 Mar 16:9 [Mat 27:55] [Mar 15:41] [Luk 23:55]

3 Joanna, the wife of Herod’s household manager Chuza; Susanna; and many others. These women continued to support them out of their personal resources.

TOPIC: SUSANNA.

MESSAGE:
Jesus' ministry was influential. Some of the people he healed and delivered became his supporters. In this text, Susanna was actively engaged in the kingdom business. She supported Jesus' ministry with her own resources. Her zeal was borne out of gratitude. Her commitment and generosity are good examples for us to follow. Each one of us, irrespective of our stance in the society, has something to offer in the service of Christ. Nothing is too small or too big to give to God.
Do you grumble or complain when the church places demands for mission, projects, or for the needy?
Do not wait to be coerced, but like Susanna, give generously without complain.
Remember, Jesus gave his all for you. Besides, the reward is great (Acts 20:35).

REFLECTION:
The kingdom of heaven is open to all.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, help me to support the work of the kingdom. Amen.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH: 1 JOHN 5:13.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.m
