WORD FOR THE DAY
Don’t Give Up on Your Place of Planting
Chris Laima
Giving up and running away from church and responsibility is often not the wise option.
Staying, enduring, and fighting to the end is.
God is aware of your trials, disappointments, and challenges. You said He called you into ministry and service—has God suddenly changed His mind?
Certainly not.
Romans 11:29 (KJV)
“For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
Things may not be going as you expected, but God does not move according to human expectations or timing.
You are a worker.
A leader in your unit or department.
You cannot simply walk away because things became difficult.
Winners do not quit.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
God planted you there for a reason.
Your blessings are often connected to your place of planting, service, and perseverance.
Many people abort their harvest because they leave too early.
Going to Egypt during famine may appear wise in the flesh, but sometimes it only introduces unnecessary complications—just as Hagar entered Abraham’s life with consequences that lasted generations.
**Psalm 92:13 (KJV

WORD FOR THE DAY
Measuring an Old Time Revival
Chris Laima
Let me begin by defining an old time revival.
An old time revival is a move of God whose main features are deep repentance, conviction of sin, and the restoration of holiness and righteousness among a people.
It is not merely noise, crowds, miracles, or excitement. True revival changes character, reforms communities, and restores the fear of God.
Perhaps one of the last major large-scale old time revivals was the Hebrides Revival. Of course, smaller but significant moves such as the Pensacola Revival and the Toronto Blessing are also worthy of mention.
Revival can be measured in two major ways:
First, by spread.
A revival may begin as a personal awakening, where a few individuals become spiritually revived. It can spread to a local church, then to a community, a region, a nation, or even across continents. When revival touches multiple continents, it becomes a global awakening.
Second, revival can be measured by depth.
Depth is seen in the extent of repentance and how long the fruits of righteousness remain after the meetings are over.
During the revivals led by John Wesley and Charles Finney, it was reported that years later some communities still felt the lasting effects of righteousness and moral transformation. Crime reduced, drunkenness declined, and entire social structures changed.
That is true revival.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways…”
We must not reduce revival to emotionalism alone.
Real revival produces holiness.
Real revival restores righteousness.
Real revival leaves lasting transformation.
And I strongly believe that Nigeria is standing at the edge of one of the greatest old time revivals it has ever seen.
May pride, compromise, carnality, and division not abort it.
Prayer
Father, send us a genuine old time revival. Let there be deep repentance, holiness, righteousness, and transformation across Nigeria and beyond. Raise burning voices and hungry hearts. Let this move of Your Spirit not be aborted. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏
