🙏 MONDAY FAITH CLINIC | 3RD AUGUST 2026

Today, our parish community gathered in faith for the Monday Faith Clinic at St. James Catholic Church, Gombe State, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ignatius Ndubuisi.

The Holy Mass was filled with God's grace as special August Declaration Prayers were offered, committing the new month into God's hands. The entire congregation received the anointing, praying for divine protection, healing, favour, and abundant blessings throughout the month.

Special prayers were also offered for all our birthday celebrants, asking God to grant them good health, long life, wisdom, and continued blessings in the years ahead.

The celebration concluded with a joyful Thanksgiving, as Rev. Fr. Ignatius Ndubisi imparted his final blessing upon the entire congregation, praying that every family would experience God's peace, mercy, and overflowing grace this August.

May the blessings received today remain with us, and may this new month be filled with testimonies for every one of us.

18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME | 10:00 A.M. HOLY MASS

The faithful of St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, assembled for the 10:00 a.m. Holy Mass, presided over by our Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Leonard Lokshiya Anthony, in a joyful celebration of the Eucharist on the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The liturgy of the day called the congregation to deepen their confidence in God's unfailing providence. Through the sacred readings, the faithful were reminded that the Lord alone satisfies the deepest desires of the human heart and that His love remains constant through every circumstance of life.

Reflecting on the Gospel, the congregation was encouraged to emulate Christ's compassion and generosity, as demonstrated in the miraculous feeding of the multitude. The celebration served as a reminder that God can accomplish extraordinary things through even the smallest offerings when they are entrusted to Him with faith.

At the conclusion of the Mass, members of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, promoted their forthcoming Youth Week, scheduled to commence on Monday, 3rd August, and conclude on Sunday, 9th August. The youth enthusiastically went around the church premises distributing flyers and inviting parishioners to actively participate in the spiritual, educational, and social activities planned for the week.

May the message of today's Eucharistic celebration inspire us to trust more deeply in God's providence, remain steadfast in His love, and continue serving one another with generous hearts.

18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME | HAUSA MASS | 8:00 A.M. HOLY MASS

The 8:00 a.m. Hausa Holy Mass at St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, was prayerfully celebrated by our Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Leonard Lokshiya Anthony, as the faithful gathered to worship God and reflect on His life-giving Word on this 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The day's liturgy invited Christians to place their complete trust in God's loving providence. Through the readings, the faithful were reminded that true fulfillment is found in God alone, whose grace satisfies every longing of the human heart. The celebration also reaffirmed the comforting truth that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ when we remain steadfast in faith.

The Gospel highlighted the miraculous feeding of the multitude, calling on all believers to embrace generosity, compassion, and unwavering confidence in God's ability to provide abundantly, even in seemingly impossible situations. It served as a powerful reminder that when we place what we have in God's hands, He blesses it for the good of many.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, members of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, officially announced the commencement of their Youth Week, which begins Monday, 3rd August, and concludes Sunday, 9th August. To create awareness and encourage active participation, the youth joyfully processed around the church premises, distributing flyers to parishioners and inviting everyone to support and participate in the week-long spiritual and social activities.

May the Lord continue to nourish His Church with His Word and the Holy Eucharist, and may the forthcoming Youth Week be a time of spiritual renewal, unity, and abundant blessings for all.

18TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME | 6:00 A.M. HOLY MASS

The faithful of St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, gathered joyfully in the presence of God for the 6:00 a.m. Holy Mass on the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, celebrated by our Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Leonard Lokshiya Anthony.

Drawing from the day's liturgy, the First Reading (Isaiah 55:1–3) reminded all that God lovingly invites everyone to come to Him, for He alone satisfies the deepest hunger and thirst of the human heart.

The Second Reading (Romans 8:35, 37–39) strengthened the congregation with the assurance that nothing—not hardship, suffering, fear, nor any power—can separate those who remain faithful from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

In the Holy Gospel (Matthew 14:13–21), Jesus fed the multitude with five loaves and two fish, revealing God's abundant providence and teaching that when we entrust our little to Him, He blesses it and makes it sufficient for many. The Gospel calls every Christian to cultivate generosity, trust in God's providence, and compassion for those in need.

As the Eucharistic celebration concluded, the faithful were encouraged to continue relying on God's unfailing love, to seek first the nourishment that comes from His Word and the Holy Eucharist, and to become instruments of charity and hope within their families and the wider community.

May the Lord continue to nourish His people with His grace and strengthen us to live out His Word each day.

🎓 St. James Catholic School Gombe Graduation Ceremony 2026

Today, St. James Catholic School celebrated the graduation of its Nursery, Primary, Junior Secondary, and Senior Secondary School pupils and students in a colourful and memorable ceremony.

The event marked the successful completion of another academic session and celebrated the dedication, perseverance, and achievements of our learners. Parents, guardians, staff, friends, and well-wishers gathered to witness this significant milestone, rejoicing with the graduates as they prepared to embark on the next phase of their academic journey.

INFANT BAPTISM | FIRST SATURDAY OF AUGUST

Today, 1st August, the First Saturday of the month, St. James Catholic Church, Gombe, joyfully celebrated the Sacrament of Infant Baptism, administered by our Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Leonard Lokshiya Anthony.

Through this sacred sacrament, the newly baptized children were welcomed into the family of Christ and the Catholic Church, beginning their journey of faith under God's abundant grace.

May the Lord continue to bless these children, guide their parents and godparents in nurturing them in the Catholic faith, and strengthen our parish community in love and unity.

A Joyful Celebration of Our Assistant Parish Priest

Today, 31st July, the parish family came together in thanksgiving as the evening Holy Mass marked the 2nd Priestly Anniversary and Birthday Celebration of our Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ignatius Ndubuisi.

Following the Holy Mass, the celebration continued with a joyful reception featuring the cutting of the birthday cake, a drama presentation depicting Fr. Ignatius' inspiring journey and ministry in the parish, and a beautiful choreography by the children, which added color and excitement to the occasion.

Parishioners, friends, and well-wishers took turns expressing their heartfelt birthday wishes and appreciation for his dedicated priestly service. As a sign of love and support, many also made generous monetary gifts during the cake presentation.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Rev. Fr. Ignatius Ndubuisi, who expressed his profound gratitude to the entire parish community for their prayers, love, support, and the memorable celebration.

Once again, we wish our dear Assistant Parish Priest God's continued blessings, good health, wisdom, and many more fruitful years in His vineyard.
