Members of NKST Asongo in Bristow Classis under the auspices of CAN Gboko Chapter came out today en masse for an outcry march on the incessant killings in Benue State. Lord kindly hear our lamentations and come to our aid.
"And all of them together made a plot to come and fight against Jerusalem and to disturb it. Nevertheless, we made our prayer to our God, and because of them, set a guard against them day and night. (Nehemiah 4:8-9 PSB) was the charge for the day.

Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13 ESV
In what ever you do, preparation is very important because it gives you the boldness to await the outcome of your efforts. But many are unprepared despite the limited time we have on earth. Where we read was the case of Paul when Prophet Agabus revealed the challenges Paul will face at Jerusalem. The brethren with him urged him not to go to Jerusalem to be imprisoned. Paul statement clearly demonstrated that he was well prepared for eternity hence his statement: ' _For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus_ '. What a wonderful decision taken with boldness and courage!
Today, how many of us are prepare if dead beckons on us. The manner at which people are dying today is so alarming. You hear of multiple deaths within a circle; yet we take it for granted. Brethren, how are you prepare about your exit on earth? It's hard time to have a rethink. For Paul, he was even ready to die for the sake of Jesus Christ.
How then should we prepare for eternity. We have two fundamental ways: physically and spiritually.
Physically we should constantly check our deeds, actions and utterance with fellow human on daily basis while spiritually, we should accept Jesus Christ in our hearts and do His will.
Those who prepared will speak like Simeon _"Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word"_ (Lk 2:29 PSB). Above all, Christ words on the cross clearly shows that he was prepared: _“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit"_ (Lk 23:46 PSB).
Therefore, we too should follow suit and get prepare for eternity. May God see us through our individual journey.
Blessings.

And David said, “ *Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?* ” 2 Sam 9:1 ESV
It's good to remember every act of kindmess done to us by others. On the contrary, we hardly remember such kindness, rather we often bring back to memories the wrong done to us; this has discouraged most of us to equally show kindness to others.
From the text we read, we saw a different scenario from the reaction of David to King Saul. On several occasions Saul has tried to eliminate David in order not to ascend to the throne after him. All his efforts proved abortive and he was killed alongside Jonathan and others in the battle with the Philistines. Eventually David became the king over Israel. Despite King Saul violence threats to his life, he still remember the love and kindness done to him by a single member of Saul's family - Jonathan. Therefore, he sought out to see if there is anyone left in the house of Saul that he will equally show kindness for the sake of Jonathan; a kindness that Saul didn't deserve. Note his statement: *_from the house of Saul and not the house of Jonathan_* ; What a great man!
This message is coming to you at this crucial time to encourage you to always remember the kindness done to you in the past and reciprocate it. Also, even if it is just a single soul from a family, clan, community, state or nation that has done kindness to you, at least for the sake of that person, you too should show kindness to others even though they may not deserve it.
God has shown us great kindness through Christ Jesus while we were yet sins (Rom 5:8) an unmerited kindness. Therefore, amidst all odds we too should show kindness to others. Blessings.

If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go...so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God. Gen. 28:20, 21
Brethren, one amongst the most challenging issues in life is that of keeping promises. A prove can be seen from the issue of borrowing money. The assurance to payback a borrowed money is normally very high when we are requesting for it, yet when it comes to repayment we often don't keep the promise. Jacob did same by woefully breaking his promise after enjoying his full demands from God. Amazingly, this is the order of the day, but the Scripture is reminding us to be promise's keepers. May God help us.
