Morning Tea

Deu 15:1-3 ISV 1 “You must cancel your debts at the end of every seventh year. 2 This is the way to conduct remission: every creditor must cancel the loan that his friend borrowed, and he must not pressure his friend or brother to repay it, because remission to the LORD will be proclaimed. 3 You may exact payment from a foreigner, but cancel whatever your brother owes you.

This is the Law and in it is compassion for neighbours and fellow Israelites. One is expected to cancel bad debts owed by a poor brother after 7 years. In the time, if someone owes debt and can't pay, that person becomes a slave. But, the LORD didn't want that and so calls for this cancellation of debts as an act of mercy to a fellow Israelite. That's why Jesus came and gave a proper interpretation of the Law which the Pharisees, Sadducees and others did not like. The matter here is mercy to the poor and those who can't afford it. So, beloved, do you show mercy or you do business as the world does? For if in the Law, one is required to forgive debts of his brother, today, in this era of grace, compassion and mercy should naturally fill and drive our dealings with other believers. We should not withdraw mercy to the poor believer because it is business or you wish to earn something extra. For example, in this difficult times of increasing transportation fare, I boarded a vehicle home and the driver who is a Muslim did not collect money from all of us that entered the vehicle. He simply dropped us at our bus stop with a smile and then "ah ah don't worry". If an unbeliever can be this merciful in very difficult times, the believer should do more and show more compassion.

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to focus on Jesus no matter my circumstances and so that I will be merciful to others as led by the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Rom 12:1 KJ2000 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Beloved, Paul is pleading with the Roman believers that it is very important that they present their bodies to the LORD as 1. A Living Sacrifice, 2. Holy and 3. Acceptable to God. If these are possible, it will be their act of reasonable service. This is exactly what Jesus Christ did and as is what every believer should do. Jesus Christ presented Himself to God everyday as His vessel for actions such as Love, Mercy, Justice and so on to others. He had to shelve His own desires so that He could pursue the desires of the Lord everyday. That is what a Living sacrifice is. It is killing every human desire for God's ultimate and perfect Will. The sacrifice must be holy, that is, set apart for God and unique in itself just as Jesus lived only for God's purposes and not His own purposes or desires. Jesus said He came to do only the Will of the Father and not His own. Until you're focused on God, you can't be holy. Until it is only about Jesus Christ that you live for, you are not holy. This holiness includes that God and Love for Him is the reason you pick up a grass or clean the floor. The sacrifice must also be acceptable to God. No matter how holy and living the sacrifice is, if God does not accept it, you are wasting your time. It is useless and defeats the whole purpose. For Jesus, we hear the Father saying, Jesus is His beloved Son in whom He is pleased; that's acceptable sacrifice. Whatever sacrifice you give and whatever holiness you live, it must be acceptable to God, else it is nothing. For there are sacrifices that are not acceptable to God. Then, when you've succeeded to do these, it's you act of reasonable service; that is, your responsibility as a believer is to be a Living Sacrifice, be holy and all you do should be only God+acceptable things. Responsibility means your obligation and duty as a member of God's Kingdom. You are a responsible believer if you do these 3 things and living by them, just as Jesus did. So, ask yourself; "Am I a responsible believer?"

Prayer: Dear Father, please direct my heart to stay obedient and yielded to the Holy Spirit so that I can be like Jesus and so a responsible believer in You. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen

Morning Tea

Gen 11:4 KJ2000 And they said, Come, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

The problem of the people of this time was that they were working against God's will and purpose. Whereas God blessed man to fill the Earth at the beginning, these were not interested in filing the Earth but in staying one place. So, making a name for themselves, which was pride, was against God's perfect will for their lives. We see an opposite in Jesus Christ who was not interested in being known or making a name for Himself but, was focused on doing only the Father's perfect will. He said that He came to do the will of Him that sent Him and to finish it. This should be our life's pursuit, since we claim to be "Christ like" (Christian) and not to make a name for ourselves or whatever exploit our hearts' are desiring. Beloved, you feel and enjoy God's perfect Love for you if you focus on God perfect will and not anything that will you to some form of personal gain. Just follow Jesus Christ by obeying the Holy Spirit, and He will get you there. Obey!

Prayer: Beloved Father and my King, direct my heart to be filled with obedience of the Holy Spirit and so much Love for Jesus Christ to follow Him and do only your perfect will. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Joh 17:3 KJ2000 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Jesus Christ when praying to His Father said this; that eternal life is to know God, the true God. The phrase "to know" used here is not just to get knowledge because everyone can gain knowledge by simply reading. It is much more than that. In the KJV, "to know" is used for having sexual in*******se; that means, you've had knowledge of the secrets of that person and are loyal to that person only, have entered into a covenant with that person and so share the most intimate part of your life with that person. For instance, it says in Genesis that Adam knew Eve his wife and it's not used for illicit sexual relations or for fornications but simply for this compounded meaning. So, to know God, taking from that is not just having knowledge of Him but it is through great interest in Him and in following Jesus, is to be loyal to only God, to freely enter into a covenant relationship with Him and to share your deepest and most vulnerable part of your life with Jesus. It is to obey the Holy Spirit Day after day as He brings this loyalty, this covenant, this deep-secret intimate relationship to the God-level. It is to be fully given to God such that all your life is totally about Jesus Christ. So beloved, do you know God in this way?

Prayer: Dear Father of Lights and Love, help me to desire you and to know you in truth and in such depth as Jesus Christ teaches me to and to obey your Holy Spirit into this intimacy with you. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

1Ki 15:33-34 KJ2000 33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years. 34 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.

Jeroboam became the standard of evil among the Kings of Israel. He was remembered as someone who led Israel to do what was wrong in the sight of the LORD. First, what he did was seen as evil in God's sight and then, was remembered as the person who led Israel into sin. Beloved, Jesus Christ is remembered today as the one who died so that we all may have a chance for salvation. He is known as the harbinger of salvation. What will you be remembered for? But first, does God see you as evil or that you're doing what He does not like? If you can know how the LORD sees you, it will help shape how people will remember you. So, repent and follow Jesus Christ, the one who is beloved by the Father and remembered for good even after thousands of years. Drop that your wisdom and embrace Him so you do not deceive yourself and continue to walk in your own way rather than by the Holy Spirit. Repent!

Prayer: Just like Jesus Christ your beloved Son oh LORD, help me walk with you step by step and live for you everyday. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Ephesians 4:11-13 NIV — So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up *until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.*

Beloved of God, the goal of any true and serious Christian or believer is to attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. That was why Paul said that he forgot whatever he had attained and press on. We are to focus on becoming like Jesus day after day. In fact, our judgement as Christians may be the measure our "Christ likeness" that shows how much of Christ we carry and live by. You're are an apostle because you're to help others become more like Jesus Christ. You're an Evangelist, Prophet, or Pastor or whatever spiritual gift you're given by the Holy Spirit is to help both yourself and others to attain this Christ likeness. Now, how much of Christ have you attained? Can men see Christ in you or they see you more than Christ? If the goal is not Christ likeness, repent and make it your goal for that is the reason you're a Christian.

Prayer: Dear Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I want to desire you more and more, so that I will pursue to be more like Jesus Christ your beloved Son who pleases you. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Job 42:7-8 NET2 7 After the LORD had spoken these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger is stirred up against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken about me what is right, as my servant Job has. 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job will intercede for you, and I will respect him, so that I do not deal with you according to your folly, because you have not spoken about me what is right, as my servant Job has.”

Job's friends came to see him because they heard the evil that came on him. But, they in their "right theology" accused him of wrong doing because they thought that such suffering can't be for a righteous man but for sinners, and so, to them, Job must have sinned. So, they use the theology of God they know and spoke many popular things about God to show Job their friend that he was in sin for that kind of suffering he was going through. Even though the LORD came to Job and asked him some questions which he couldn't answer; the LORD was pleased with Job and angry with Job's friends even though they thought they were speaking for God. Beloved, we must be very careful in speaking against people since we can't truly know what is going on in their lives with God. Instead, we should focus on following Jesus and be compassionate to the weak and helpless just as Jesus was rather than accusing them of sin. Compassion is a trait of Christ that the Satan in his plans and the way he is forcing the world to look like; desires to erase so that no one will be compassionate to his neighbour. Do not miss any opportunity to act like Christ for you may be in the category of Job's friends who thought they were speaking for God, not knowing that they were actually getting God angry. Beware! It is only Jesus that pleased and still pleases God and that is why we must follow Him and be like Him.

Prayer: My Father and my King, please touch my heart and lead me to act in compassion and so live as Jesus lived that my life pleases you in Christ Jesus name I pray Amen.

Mat 3:7-8 KJ2000 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? *8 Bring forth therefore fruits befitting for repentance.*

Beloved, what fruit are you known for and are you bearing? In response to the preaching of John the Baptist, the Pharisees and Sadducees decided to repent. But, John requested that their repentance should be true and so they ought to bring forth fruit of repentance. In this case, the fruit of repentance would be that they stop oppression and pride. Beloved of the Lord, do you claim to be religious or a Christian and we can't find the fruit of repentance in you? You're only deceiving yourself. If you repent, lies should stop, envy should not be known in you, and the likes. We can't claim to be Christians and there is bitterness in our hearts, we don't forgive, we hate each other, do not desire the success of others, etc. Repent and bring forth fruit of repentance for by your fruit, we will know you.

Prayer: Dear Father, please help me to bring forth and live by the fruit of repentance in Christ Jesus name Amen.
