Zep 2:3 ISV Seek the LORD, all you humble people of the land, who do what he commands. Seek righteousness! Seek humility! Maybe you will be protected in the Day of the LORD’s anger.”

From the above, seeking the LORD ensures protection from the LORD'S anger, especially on Judgment Day. So, let us focus on seeking Him with all our hearts and obeying our Father in heaven, for such obedience brings consolation and protection from the LORD. The seeking is to search out and to know and to obey the LORD's instructions in worship and everyday living. It's a posture of righteousness that attracts the attention of God, bringing Him to attend to our issues. The truth is that, the LORD knows those who are His and who seek Him in truth and it has little to do with attendance but everything to do with the state of the heart, especially in worship. Seek the LORD and attract His glory.

Prayer: My soul yarns for you and my heart rejoices in you my LORD, in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Mat 17:4-5 KJV 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Beloved, this is the story of the transfiguration, where Jesus body became so white and glorious that Peter and others were confused. Here we see Peter, the ever ready to talk disciple, saying things he didn't plan. So, there was Moses and Elijah; the representative of the Law and the Prophets - the totality of God's ancient work. Then there was Jesus who appeared in amazing glory. For Peter, the 3 personalities were very important and so, thanks to God that they (Peter, James and John) are there. Therefore, it's for them to build 3 tents. So that anyone can visit the either of the 3 or all, depending on his choice. But, the Father in His mercies, and to give direction to Peter's heart says "This (Jesus) is my beloved Son, in whom I am pleased. Listen to Him". It means, no more Moses, no more Elijah, only Jesus. For the ministry of Moses and Elijah brought about the ministry of Jesus. Today, even within believers, there is still the ministry of Moses (those who are bent on keeping laws, rules and guidelines) and the ministry of Elijah (those that desire fire to fall on everyone who hates them and those they hate. Their focus is dramatic deliverance of all kinds). No wonder Jesus stopped John and James from calling down fire on those who opposed Jesus. Brethren in Christ, the Father says you should listen to Jesus only. No more Moses, no more Elijah. Without Jesus, all your believe and acts towards God is nothing. Repent! Focus on Christ alone, through faith alone, by Grace alone in the framework of divine Love alone.

Prayer: Dear LORD, please help me to obey in truth, Jesus Christ only and not my heart or any other influence, according to your instruction. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Mar 15:12-14 ISV 12 So Pilate asked them again, “Then what should I do with the man you call ‘the King of the Jews’?” 13 “Crucify him!” they shouted back. 14 “Why?” Pilate asked them. “What has he done wrong?” But they shouted even louder, “Crucify him!”

Beloved, the world chose Barabbas rather than the LORD Jesus Christ; and that's because the world can't choose anything God because it does not like God. Yes, every time the opportunity comes, the world will choose it's own. So, if you're of God, do not expect the world to choose you, instead choose God and do it with all your heart. This means that the world will hate you simply because you choose God rather than the world. It also means that, if the world begins to like you and choose you, check yourself, you may have signed an agreement of compromise with the world. Beloved, be careful of the world and it's system, for Jesus has conquered the world, but the world is at war with everything Jesus. Therefore, Examine yourself: is the world liking me? If it is so, trace your steps and realign with Jesus.

Prayer: Thank you dear Father and help me stay faithful to you irrespective of what the world thinks in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Joh 15:11 KJ2000 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Jesus was talking about love for God, which is measured by obeying God's commands. Then He mentioned that whatever command He gives them was for their own good, which in this case will result in Joy. This Joy is that true inner happiness that has no limits and stems from the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is not dependent on what a person owns or what he achieves, but is strictly of God. It is something only God can give because no sorrow or evil can touch, let alone diminish it. This Joy is what the Holy Spirit desires of you and is working inside of you. It is sometimes called unspeakable Joy for it can't be explained but experienced. It is this Joy that Jesus promises everyone who follow Him in truth. Yes, Jesus desires the fullness of this Joy in your life everyday. Obey Him in truth and with all your heart that your Joy may be full.

Prayer: Thank you dear Father for such Joy. Please direct my heart to obey you that your Joy remains in me till it's fullness. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Luk 5:27-28 KJ2000 27 And after these things he went forth, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office: and he said unto him, Follow me. 28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

Jesus simply told Levi, who is Matthew, to follow Him. There was no convincing or argument. Just a simple statement and a wholesome response. This means that Levi had been listening to Jesus preach and teach. He had questioned himself, struggled with the teachings of Jesus and was willing to know more about him. But, his work; tax collection, was probably his problem. Then, from no where, Jesus appears and invites him to follow him. Ah! Levi simply obeyed his heart, dropped everything he had, every treasure, every important matter became secondary and Levi resigned on the spot. What about you and I, will you respond to Jesus' call to follow him? Will you leave everything for his sake? Or you'll give him a condition to bless you first? For Levi, everything he valued was less valuable than God's word which Jesus spoke. Is God's word valuable to you? If your response is yes, can you leave everything you possess and own to follow Jesus like Levi? Jesus is waiting for you!

Prayer: Dearest Father of Love, thank you for loving me and bringing me to your fold, please teach me and help me to value you more than everything the world gives. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Psa 40:1-3 KJ2000 1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. 3 And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

David the King and the Psalmist gives us strength and courage in this song. He explains that he waited patiently for the Lord and due to his patience (expectantly), God had to focus on him and answer his prayers. This is equivalent to what Jesus taught His disciples that men always ought to pray and not faint. In David's waiting, he kept on praying. That waiting was in faith and not in doubt. Just as the widow continually disturbed the unjust judge in Jesus parable. We must approach our Father in heaven constantly and consistently in faith and not in doubt because we've not received answer to our prayers. No, press on dear believer for God is looking at your faith to respond. Even as the LORD awaits your faith, He will deliver you from evils and give you courage to keep at your earnest prayers if you're connected to Him. Then, in response to your prayers, the LORD will put a new song of praise, thanksgiving and so much Joy in your heart such that, it will become a testimony for others to trust in Him. Yes, your waiting, your trusting in God, your courage, your faith and the Joy the LORD gives you becomes an instrument of evangelism. So, do not give up beloved, instead remain faithful, resolute and full of faith in Christ Jesus, even as you expectantly wait for God's blessings.

Prayer: I will wait by faith and in hope for you oh my Father, because I am sure that you'll answer in Love and abundantly in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Mat 19:27-29 NET2 27 Then Peter said to him, “Look, we have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” 28 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth: In the age when all things are renewed, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And whoever has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.

Mar 10:28-30 NET2 28 Peter began to speak to him, “Look, we have left everything to follow you!” 29 Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, there is no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the gospel 30 who will not receive in this age a hundred times as much – homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutions – and in the age to come, eternal life.

The above verses shows us the promises of Jesus to His disciples and by extension, everyone who leaves everything (possessions) they had to follow Him. Putting the two narratives together, Jesus promises include:
1. Everything lost for His sake will be gained in hundred fold in this time and age;
2. Persecution is also a blessing to be received in this age:
3. Eternal life:
4. Seat with Jesus on His throne; and
5. Judge others, and even angels according to other scriptures.
So, if these are not what you want, you're a liberty not to obey or follow Jesus. But, He advises that you follow Him because He will never fail or leave you, and besides, eternity is much more than this life. Are you prepared to lose everything in following Jesus? Are you prepared to gain those things lost back but added to them, persecutions? Do you want to seat with Jesus on His throne judging others? Forget the world and follow Jesus with all your heart.

Prayer: Guide me oh King of Glory to follow you truly and not for temporal gain in Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Jas 2:10 NET2 For the one who obeys the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.

This is one problem with keeping the law or focusing on the law rather than on Christ. You are bound to obey all because, if you fail in just one law, you are guilty of all. So, it is very burdensome and impossible to obey. This means that, if you obey the law of tithe because of the law, you must also obey the law of the year of Jubilee; which says that you must forgive every debt owed after every 50 years and return every collateral for loan. But Jesus teaches that we love our neighbours as ourselves, we should love God will all our hearts and follow Him. Focusing on Jesus helps to overcome the burden of the law and practice the character of God, in order that we become more like God day after day. Therefore, follow Jesus and learn of Him to become more like the Father everyday. Then, you'll be more useful to God's Kingdom.

Prayer: Take over my heart and reason dear Father, that I become more like you in Christ Jesus name Amen.
