Morning Tea

Phi 2:6-10 KJV 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

Beloved of God, to receive anything of great value from God, we have to follow the steps of Jesus Christ outlined here. We must be humble to be exalted by the Father. Jesus Christ was God but humbled Himself and became a man; as though that was not enough, He further humbled Himself to die on the cross; the most disgraceful and criminal death of the time. Yet, it was this disgraceful death that God used to save you and me; and then exalted Jesus who died by it. You must, like Jesus be truly humbled to get anything of eternal value from the Eternal Father. For it is Jesus Christ in us that is the hope of glory for us and so we must learn to be like Him everyday and actually obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit in us. Who is working to make us like this Jesus, who was humbled and eternally exalted. Would you be like Jesus?

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to be more like Jesus day after day even as I trust in you and obey your Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Mar 3:35 KJV For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Question: Are you doing the will of God or your own will in God's name? Beloved, no matter your perceived height in the faith, if you do not do the perfect will of the Father in heaven, you're not in God's Kingdom for it is those who are in His Kingdom that are His Mother, Brothers and Sisters. To do the will of God is not to do religious activity but to find God's purpose for your life and do it with Love and with all your heart. It is to follow Jesus and obey the Holy Spirit as led by the Father. Until your Love for God is true and practical, then you can find your purpose and truly follow Jesus in truth. Then, you become a family of Jesus, else, you're a visitor who can always go out.

Prayer: Lead me dear LORD in that path to your purpose for me that I know and pursue your perfect will for my life in Christ Jesus name I pray Amen.

Morning Tea

Ecclesiastes 7:10 ESV — Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.

Beloved, the Preacher, who has divine wisdom here says it is not wise to say or ask why the former, that is, the old days are better than today. The reasons are: 1. Evil has always existed and it's about your relationship with God rather than what the times say. 2. Every generation had its own challenges and you are not omniscient to determine all that happened then and now, so it's better to focus on following Jesus. 3. God does not change and it is probably out of frustration that such questions comes. So, instead of allowing frustration, follow Jesus in truth. 4. The question seems to question God's justice and righteousness and this is clear foolishness. Trust the LORD with all your heart and not in your experience or understanding. Paul says he forgets the past and presses on. 5. We may say the Bible says evil will increase and we ignore the context. Have you imagined the kind of evil that existed in the days of Noah that only Noah and his family were righteous? Even the Preacher says that there is nothing new under the sun. What is more important is your present relationship with Jesus and obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit, that is the proper wisdom; that is what you should focus on rather than engaging in questions you can't fully determine. So, wisdom is in following Jesus and becoming more like Him day after day.

Prayer: Dear Father, I will not question your justice for you are omniscient, instead, I will follow Jesus, step by step, day by day, even by your Holy Spirit. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Psalm 27:4 NIV — One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

David has only one request, and it's not the destruction of his enemies or to become to most powerful King or the richest person in his time, but to live in the house of the LORD for the rest of his life. The reason he wants to live in the house of the LORD is just to keep on admiring the beauty or rather, the awesomeness of the LORD and to keep seeking the LORD, that is, to know the LORD more and more. No wonder he is a man after God's own heart. The house of the LORD for David and Israel of his time was God's manifest presence. So, to desire being in the house of the LORD simply means being in the *presence of the LORD always*. David is saying: Oh my Father and my God, I just want to always be with you and just to admire you as my God, have high notions of you every time and to keep doing my best to know you more and more. Beloved, we have much more than David today. We have Jesus Christ who has and is keeping us in the very presence of God, high above every distraction. That David's desire is a reality that Jesus Christ brings to you with His blood on a platter of gold. It's left for you to simply agree with the LORD, desire to stay in the manifest presence of God everyday, which you have direct access to, unlike David that has limited access because he was a King and not a Priest and can't be in the Holy of Holies, which was the very manifest presence of God in the temple then. Beloved, do not throw away the chance Jesus offers to you. Embrace it, live it, stay in God's presence, converse with the LORD all the time; with or without distractions, and seek to know Him more and more. This is God's ultimate gift to us: direct access, every where, any day, every day, any time, to His very manifest presence and to stay there with Him forever! So, if such desire is not in you or you have other desires rather than this, then you do not know the LORD. He is your Creator irrespective of what you think or believe, and He is waiting for you. Repent and come to Jesus, He beckons on you to Come!

Prayer: LORD Jesus, help me with such desire that I do not reject your awesome gift; to be with the Father always. This I pray oh my Father in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Mat 22:37-38 KJV 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.

How much do you Love the LORD, thy God? Do you even Love Him at all or you're just asking things from Him and never spare a thought of Love for Him. If you Love the LORD, you won't rebel against Him or disobey Him. Love is patient and does all it can to please the other party; what have you done simply to please the LORD? To Love the LORD involves obeying His commands; according to Jesus. How much have you truly obeyed His instructions because you Love Him and not because you desire something from Him? We must rethink our Love for God, if truly we are in Love with Him or we just desire His mercy, salvation and material blessings. The man who truly Loves the LORD does so with all that is Him; all of His might, soul and possessions. He's not after "answered prayers" but after "divine fellowship". His heart is fixed on the LORD who He Loves so much that nothing can satisfy him except obeying the LORD. So, examine your relationship with the LORD and sincerely answer this question: *Do I Love the LORD?* One reason we don't have this emotional connection of Love is that we do not understand the depth of Jesus sacrifice for us. We have successfully trivialised the trauma of the cross and it's power in saving us and so we focus on what we can get out of God and not how we can be closer to Him.

Prayer: Dear Father most High, please teach me to Love you in truth and not for gain, just like Jesus. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Mar 4:37-38 KJ2000 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the rear of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awoke him, and said unto him, Teacher, care you not that we perish?

In the midst of a storm and very difficult problem, Jesus was sleeping. He was woken from the sleep and rebuked the storm restoring peace to the sea and then He berated them for their lack of faith. Beloved, Jesus here teaches us to have faith in the middle of any storm in our lives. We are to trust His mercies and weather the storm irrespective of how great the storm may appear. For He is our God and He is with us, therefore, we should not fear. How can God be with you, the Creator of the Universe and you're scared of noise that the universe create? Let you courage rise with danger and so that you grow spiritually more and more settled that Jesus is with you always.

Prayer: Sovereign LORD and my Father, help me to trust you no matter the storm and to be with you all my days in Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Morning Sir

Rom 1:18 ISV For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth.

In this life we see wickedness reign sometimes and some may think that God does not exist or God is partial or He has forgotten the godly. However, because He is God and understands everything, His actions are trusted as the very best. Here, the scripture says that God's anger is being revealed against all ungodliness and wickedness or unrighteousness. It does not matter who is involved, every man shall be rewarded according to how he lived. The gospel is an instrument of God to reveal that righteous anger of God against every ungodliness. Therefore, focus on Jesus, trust Him to do the best and to take the most correct action, but you, be His vessel to declare His message to everyone. Be the message of Jesus Christ, be His ambassador, be the reason wickedness lose its hold on the ungodly and leave justice to our Father in heaven. For He will surely reward you appropriately and with so much eternal Joy that outweighs any suffering you could ever go through.

Prayer: Dear Father, teach my heart to trust you and become your message, even to be like Jesus Christ. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

1Pe 1:16 ISV For it is written, “You must be holy, because I am holy.”

It is an instruction from the most high that we must be holy because He is holy. The idea is that we become like Him or in the language of interpretation, we must be set apart for Him and be like Him. That is the simple way to say what being holy means. It is focusing on who God is every time of your life simply because He desires you to be like Him. The idea of set apart is not to keep away from people but to keep away from anything and everything that is not Christ like and to influence others to become Christ like. So, it's not about keeping religious rules but about becoming like Jesus. For He alone is truly holy in the way the Father delights in. So, are you holy or you're simply keeping rules?
This idea of holiness is to help us not to conform to the world but to be transformed into Jesus the Holy One of God!

Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, help my heart to be set apart for you such that I become more like Jesus day after day. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.

Morning Tea

Phi 3:7 EasyEnglish But all the things that were very important to me before are worth nothing to me now, because of Christ.

If truly you Love the LORD and have become His disciple, so as to learn of Him and be like Him in truth, you pursuit and love for "things" should naturally reduce even towards extinction. But, if after claiming to know Jesus and doing what you can to be like Him, and your pursuit is still for self rather than the glory of God, you need to recheck your salvation. For Jesus saved us so we can become closer to the Father through Him and by the Holy Spirit and not to gather "things" or rejoice in them. The true disciple of Jesus no more see his earthly pursuit as important but focuses on His Master, Jesus Christ that he may Love Him more and learn from Him more and more, in order to be like Him. If you're still counting gains in this world rather than in God's kingdom, you are false to Christ and true to yourself! So, before you make anything important to you, consider how it improves your relationship with Jesus and how it makes the Father glad or sad.

Prayer: The LORD of glory and my King, every other thing is loss and of no importance to me except the pursuit of your pleasure through Christ. This I pray in Christ Jesus name Amen.
