Topic: That I may know HIm and the power of His Resurrection

Texts: Phillipians 3: 10

Introduction
The apostle Paul statement after many years of serving Christ. Though He had achievements, revelations, and experiences, his greatest desire was still to know Christ more deeply. This shows that the christian life is a continuous journey of intimacy, growth, and transformation in Christ. Paul desired not only knowledge about Christ, but personal experience of His resurrection power and a life fully surrendered to him

Meaning of this statement
1. Hunger for deeper relationship with Christ-:
Paul desired intimate fellowship with Christ beyond religion and tradition.
Psalm 42:1, Jeremiah 29:13

2. Spiritual passion and pursuit-: This statement reveals a burning passion to continually pursue God regardless of previous accomplishments. Phillippians 3:13-14, Matthew 5:6

3. Desire for divine power-: Paul longed to experience the same power of resurrection, the power that raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 8:11, Ephesian 1: 18-20

4. Total surrender and identification with Christ-: He was willing to share in Christ's suffering and become conformable to his death. Galatians 2:20; Luke 9:23

5. Life long commitment to spiritual growth -: Paul understood that knowing Christ is progressive and never ends. Hoses 6:3; 2 Peter 3:18

The implications of this statement on the Church today.

1. The Church must pursue relationship above religion. John 15:4-5

2. The Church must depend on resurrection power. Acts 1:8

3. Believers must embrace sacrifice and commitment. 2 Timothy 3:12

4. The Church must continually grow spiritually. Hebrew 6:1

5. The Church must reflect the life Christ. Matthew 5:16

Conclusion
As we seek to know Him more, His resurrection power will stren6us to love victorious and impactful Christian life.
Redemption hymnal 394.

394. MORE ABOUT JESUS WOULD I KNOW

“Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord” Hosea 6:3

1.More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love Who died for me.

Chorus
More, more about Jesus,
More, more about Jesus;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love Who died for me.

2.More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me.

3.More about Jesus; in His Word,
Holding communion with my Lord;
Hearing His voice in every line,
Making each faithful saying mine.

4.More about Jesus; on His throne,
Riches in glory all His own;
More of His kingdom’s sure increase;
More of His coming, Prince of Peace.

*Topic:* Leaving a Godly Legacy (1)
*Texts:* Proverbs 13:22; Psalm 145:4; 2 Timothy 1:5

*Introduction*
Many people think legacy is only about houses, land, businesses, or wealth. But according to Scripture, the greatest legacy a believer can leave is a godly life and enduring character.

A *godly legacy* is the spiritual influence, values, character, and devotion to God that continue in the lives of others even after we are gone.

David, Abraham, Timothy, and many others became examples of people whose faith affected generations after them.

Today, many families inherit property but lack peace, discipline, love, and the fear of God. God desires us to leave behind not only inheritance, but also righteousness, wisdom, and spiritual direction.

---

*1. What is a Godly Legacy?*
1. Passing godly values from one generation to another
2. Living a life that points others to Christ
3. Raising children and disciples who will serve God faithfully
4. Leaving behind spiritual impact that outlives us

---

*2. 5 Ways to Leave a Godly Legacy*

*1. Live a Life of Genuine Faith*
Children and younger believers learn more from what we do than what we say. Faith must not only be preached; it must be practiced.
_People may forget our words, but they will remember our lifestyle._

*2. Teach the Word of God Deliberately*
God commanded parents to intentionally teach His Word to their children. Spiritual growth does not happen accidentally—it is a process.
_If parents do not teach godliness, the world will teach ungodliness._

*3. Leave a Legacy of Godly Character*
Character is a stronger inheritance than riches. A wealthy parent without integrity leaves confusion behind.
_Children are blessed when they inherit righteous examples._

*4. Invest in the Next Generation*
A godly legacy involves mentoring, guiding, and encouraging younger people. Do not only correct children—train them.
_What we plant in people today becomes tomorrow’s harvest._

*5. Finish Your Race Faithfully*
A good beginning is important, but a faithful ending is powerful. Some start well spiritually but end carelessly.
_A lasting legacy requires consistency until the end._

---

*Personal Reflection Questions*
1. What kind of legacy am I currently building through my lifestyle?
2. If my children or those younger than me imitate me, will they grow closer to God?
3. Which godly character trait do I need to improve on?
4. Am I more focused on material inheritance than spiritual inheritance?
5. What would people remember most about my life if I were gone today?
