PRESS RELEASE
Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths
Date: March 22, 2026

SECURITY OPERATIVES: STOP TRIGGER HAPPY, EXTRAJUDICIAL K**LING IN IGBO EZE NORTH NOW-CINY.

The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths CINY, an interest group, whose aims and objectives it to entrench good good government and human right observations, express deep anger and unequivocal condemnation over the continued extrajudicial kjlling of innocent citizens in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area by members of the strike force and other security operatives.

It is both alarming and unacceptable that those entrusted with the responsibility of protecting lives and maintaining law and order have repeatedly been linked to actions that result in the loss of innocent lives. These incidents have created fear, grief, and growing distrust within our communities.

We recall the painful and disturbing cases that continue to haunt our people:

* In August 2022, during the enforcement of a 6pm to 6am curfew, security operatives kjlled Mr. Joseph Uja under circumstances that remain deeply troubling.
*On April 15, 2024, Ofor Ugwu, popularly known as “Ofor Ofe Olubu,” was kjlled by security forces in Igbo Eze North.
* Most recently, Omeh Ikechukwu, also known as “Shag Omeh,” was reportedly kjlled by the strike force during an operation aimed at apprehending a suspected drug dealer. It has also been alleged that his motorcycle was taken by the operatives involved.

These recurring incidents point to a dangerous pattern of excessive use of force, abuse of power, and a lack of accountability by security personnel operating within our local government.

Our position:
We state clearly and without hesitation: the lives of Igbo Eze North citizens are sacred and must not be treated with disregard. No operation, regardless of its objective, justifies the unlawful kjlling of innocent people.

Our call to action:
At this critical moment, we call on the Executive Chairman of Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Uchenna Michael Ogalla, to take immediate and decisive steps:

1. Order a thorough, transparent, and independent investigation into all reported kjllings.
2. Ensure that those responsible are identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
3. Break the cycle of silence and inaction that has characterized similar incidents in the past.
4. Engage relevant security agencies and community stakeholders to establish strict operational guidelines that protect innocent civilians.

A Call for Justice and Accountability:
We are deeply concerned that previous incidents have not resulted in visible justice. This lack of accountability has only emboldened further violations. The people of Igbo Eze North deserve protection—not fear—from those assigned to safeguard them.

Conclusion:
The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths will not remain silent in the face of injustice. We demand immediate action, accountability, and a renewed commitment to the protection of human life.

Drawing wisdom from a quote by Mary Francis.... That, when you have security agents, who abuse the right of citizens, it will erode public confidence on law enforcement agencies, and that will make the job of police officers difficult.

The security agents deployed in Igbo Eze North should stop abusing the right of Igbo Eze North indigenes, and begin to see them as brothers and cooperators, who will help to make their job easier and not the other way around.

Enough is enough. The kjllings must stop. Justice must prevail.

Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY)

RE: FALSE INFORMATION AND ATTEMPTS TO DISCREDIT CINY

The attention of the Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youths (CINY) has been drawn to a piece of false and misleading information being circulated privately by some mischievous elements in an attempt to tarnish the image of our organization.

Since its establishment in 2019, CINY has remained committed to advocating for the progress, good governance, and development of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area. Through consistent advocacy and constructive engagement, the organization has played a significant role in awakening the consciousness of our youths, encouraging them to understand their civic rights and responsibilities, and to actively demand better leadership and accountability.

Our efforts over the years have contributed to noticeable changes in the leadership approach within the Local Government Area and have also helped attract the attention of the state government to Igbo-Eze North, which had previously suffered significant neglect in terms of developmental projects.

It is therefore unfortunate that certain individuals, driven by selfish interests, are now making desperate attempts to drag the name of CINY through the mud by spreading baseless allegations. We wish to state clearly that these claims are completely unfounded and lack any form of credible evidence.

More concerning is the fact that the author of the defamatory message deliberately chose to remain anonymous while circulating the false information to prominent individuals within Igbo-Eze North in an attempt to blacklist the organization. Such actions clearly expose the desperation and lack of credibility behind the allegations.

CINY wishes to emphasize that an anonymous and faceless individual attempting to blackmail an organization that has consistently stood for the collective interest of the people should not be taken seriously.

We therefore call on all members of CINY, stakeholders, and the general public to disregard any information or message concerning CINY that does not come through the official communication channels of the organization.

CINY remains focused, committed, and dedicated to achieving its aims and objectives for the unity, progress, and sustainable development of Igbo-Eze North.

PRESS RELEASE

Concerned Igbo Eze North Youth (CINY) Decry Unfulfilled Infrastructure Promises by Enugu State Government

The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youth (CINY) wish to express deep concern and disappointment over the continued failure of the Enugu State Government lead by his Exclency Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to fulfill key infrastructure promises made to the people of Igbo Eze North Local Government Area.
Over the past years, several assurances were given by the state government regarding the construction and rehabilitation of critical road networks within Igbo Eze North. These roads are vital to the socio-economic wellbeing of our people, serving as major routes for transportation, commerce, and agricultural activities. Unfortunately, many of these roads remain in deplorable condition, making movement difficult for residents, traders, farmers, and students who rely on them daily.

Equally troubling is the absence of progress on the proposed Smart School projects that were publicly announced as part of the government's initiative to modernize education across the state. While reports indicate that some communities in other parts of Enugu State have begun to benefit from such initiatives, the people of Igbo Eze North have yet to witness any meaningful development regarding these projects within our local government area.
The continued delay in delivering these critical infrastructures raises serious concerns about fairness, equity, and the commitment of the state government to balanced development across all local government areas.

Igbo Eze North is a significant contributor to the agricultural and economic development of Enugu State. Our farmers, traders, and youths work tirelessly to support the state's economy. It is therefore disheartening that our communities continue to experience infrastructural neglect despite repeated promises.
The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youth call on the Enugu State Government to urgently address these issues by providing clear information on the status of the promised road projects and Smart Schools, as well as presenting a concrete timeline for their ex*****on.
We believe that responsible governance requires transparency, accountability, and equitable distribution of development projects. The people of Igbo Eze North deserve the same level of attention and development given to other parts of the state.

CINY remains committed to constructive engagement and peaceful advocacy in the interest of development, progress, and fairness for the people of Igbo Eze North. Prince Ejeh Josh

IGBO EZE NORTH: PROBE GENERAL HOSPITAL FIRE INCIDENT NOW- CINY.

The global network of the concerned Igbo Eze North youth CINY, received with unprecedented shock, the news of fire incident that occurred at the Ogrute general hospital, Igbo Eze North local government. The fire incident which lasted for hours without any intervention from the Enugu state fire service, was Said to have destroyed the vital sections and equipments in the hospital, as sympathizers watched helplessly.

The Ogrute general hospital which was in comatose state for years, got intervention through the efforts of the concerned Igbo North CINY's viral media pictorial report of the dilapidated state of infrastructures in the hospital, which drew the attention of the former Enugu state governor Ambassador Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi , leading to the awarding of contract for the reconstruction and equiping of the hospital.

Considering the role played by the concerned Igbo Eze North youth CINY in drawing the attention of former governor Ambassador Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi, which led to the awarding of contract for the reconstruction of the Ogrute general hospital. The then Hon Mayor Itodo didn't only appreciate CINY's efforts, but he made CINY a partner for the success of the project, by taking CINY to inspection on the progress of the project. Assuring CINY of the determination of the Ambassador Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi administration for completion of the project and urged CINY for continuous project monitoring and shouldn't hasitate to raise alarm in case of project delay or abandonment.

Fortunately to the people of Igbo Eze North, as promised by Hon Major Ejike Itodo, the Ogrute general hospital project, under the supervision of Enugu state government, Igbo Eze North local government and the concerned Igbo Eze North youth CINY didn't experience unnecessary delay untill the project was delivered, the hospital equipped and the environmental roads tarred.

Unfortunately to the people of Igbo Eze North, few years after the delivery of the Ogrute general hospital project by governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the development around the hospital became mind boggling as information merged that the major equipments in the hospital including a DNA machine has been vandalized and looted without traces. This provoking abominable information attracted confirmation visit from some political leaders
In Igbo Eze North to the hospital and also provoked the (Ogrute Youth) to invoked deity against the perpetrators of the abomination.

Ironically as the hearts of people of Igbo Eze North indigenes are yet to be relieved from the burden of the sabotage suffered against the only enduring legacy inherited by the people of igbo Eze North from governor Ugwuanyi's regime. The case of adding salt to injury had happened, as people of igbo Eze North woke up to behold the ugly news of the Ogrute general hospital been engulfed by fire.

Just like a man crying over the lost of his wife and child all together in the labor room or a man crying over the lost of his car's spare tyer in the night, only to wake up in the morning to discover that his car had been stolen. The crying 😭😭😭😭 in the mouth of people of Igbo Eze North indigenes are our hospital 😭😭😭 our equipments.

The playing scenario around the Ogrute general hospital, just like what played in Anambra state years ago that necessitated governor Mr. Peter Obi to ask questions....is Anambra cursed or are we the cause❓has also instigated same questions on the lips of indigenes of Igbo Eze North....are we curse or are we the cause❓.

Courtesy of the unending disaster in the Ogrute general hospital, the concerned Igbo Eze North you CINY is making demand as follows.

1. Hon Uchenna Ogalla , should set up a recovery team for the looted equipments in the Ogrute general hospital.

2. To set up a probe panels to investigate
the root cause of the fire incident in the general hospital.

3. To acquire fire service trucks, kits and train professional fire service staffs in defense of the communities in Igbo Eze North.

4. To liase with the Enugu state government led by his Excellency Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for funding to reconstruct the damaged sections of the hospital.

OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT

Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY)
Subject: Suspension of Convener and Associate from All Official Positions

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY) is a non-partisan, socio-cultural youth movement established to promote the welfare, unity, security, and the advancement of initiatives that promote the welfare and stability of Igbo-Eze North communities.
The core purpose of CINY is to serve as a collective voice for the youths and people of Igbo-Eze North by advocating for good governance, social justice, community development, and the protection of lives and property within the local government.

The constitution of CINY, under Section B, Article 2, and the CINY rule of engagements as adopted on 22nd September, 2022 clearly defines the organization as a non-partisan and non-political body. In line with this provision, all official leaders and office holders of CINY are strictly prohibited from engaging in partisan political activities while occupying any leadership position within the organization. Such activities include participating in political campaigns, publicly promoting political groups or movements, or contesting for political office while still serving in any official capacity within CINY. However, any member who wishes to pursue political ambitions is free to do so by first resigning honorably from any office they occupy within the organization, thereby maintaining the neutrality and integrity of CINY.

It is therefore with deep concern that the leadership and members of the organization announce the immediate suspension of the Convener, Mazi Solomon Chukwudi Onu and Mr. Ugwu Samuel for one year, however if still found guilty of same offences will be totally disowned. Hence they are suspended from their positions as Convener, Board of Trustees (BOT) member, Administrative member, acting Coordinator CINY North Central and all other official roles within CINY. This decision followed an internal review which established that they engaged in actions that clearly violated the constitutional provisions of the organization.
Investigations revealed that Mazi Solomon Chukwudi Onu created and actively promoted a political campaign platform known as the “Focus Movement,” and subsequently encouraged members of CINY to join the group, thereby attempting to draw the organization into partisan political activities. Furthermore, during the 2023 General Elections, he proposed that CINY should mobilize resources to purchase a political party nomination form in support of a particular aspirant, an action that directly contradicts the non-partisan principle of the organization. These actions constitute a clear breach of the constitutional provisions governing CINY and undermine the neutrality and integrity upon which the organization was founded. Consequently, he has been suspended from all official positions pending further actions that may be determined by the appropriate organs of the organization.

During the course of the investigation, a troubling development also occurred when Mazi Udoha issued threats, stating that he would descend on any individual or group gathering in the name of CINY nationwide, except for the West African branch, claiming he had no connections there but was well connected within Nigeria. Such statements are viewed as attempts to intimidate members and undermine the unity and stability of the organization. Members are therefore advised to disregard such threats and remain focused on the legitimate purpose and objectives of CINY.

Mr. Samuel Ugwu (popularly known as “Igwe CINY”), who was identified as a member of the Focus Movement, has also been suspended alongside Mazi Chukwudi Onu due to his involvement in activities considered to be a threat to the unity, stability, and constitutional principles of CINY.

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth wishes to reiterate the following:
1. CINY hereby dissociates and distances itself entirely from Mazi Chukwudi Onu and any of his associates. The general public is therefore advised that any activities, statements, or engagements they may undertake should not, under any circumstance, be interpreted as representing or acting on behalf of the Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY). The organization bears no responsibility or liability for any actions or representations made by them in the public domain.
2. CINY remains a non-partisan, non-political socio-cultural organization committed to the unity, progress, and development of the people of Igbo-Eze North.
3. No individual or group is above the constitution of the organization.
4. Any attempt to use the organization for political purposes or personal interests will not be tolerated.
5. The suspensions of Mazi Chukwudi Onu and Mr. Samuel Ugwu take immediate effect pending further actions that may be determined by the appropriate organs of the organization.

We urge all members across Nigeria and in the diaspora to remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to the vision and principles upon which CINY was founded.

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth remains resolute in protecting the integrity, neutrality, unity, and future of the organization.

Rising Insecurity in Igbo Eze North: A Call for Immediate Action from Government Authorities

The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths (CINY) wish to express deep concern and growing frustration over the worsening security situation in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, particularly following the recent disturbing incident that occurred at Igogoro.

For some time now, residents of Igbo Eze North have been living under increasing fear due to the rising cases of kidnapping and other criminal activities within the area. The latest incident at Igogoro has further heightened anxiety among our people and once again exposed the fragile security situation facing communities across the local government.

Igbo Eze North occupies a strategic geographical position, sharing boundaries with both Benue State and Kogi State. Unfortunately, these border areas have remained largely porous, creating easy access routes for criminal elements who infiltrate our communities to perpetrate kidnappings and other violent crimes before escaping through these same unguarded routes.

The continued neglect of these vulnerable border areas has made Igbo Eze North increasingly exposed to insecurity. Farmers are now afraid to go to their farms, traders travel in fear, and families live with the constant anxiety that their loved ones could fall victim to kidnappers at any moment.

The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths therefore call on the Chairman of Igbo Eze North Local Government, Hon. Engr. Michael Uche Ogalla and the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to urgently rise to the responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the people of Igbo Eze North.

We urge the government at both the local and state levels to immediately strengthen security presence across the local government, particularly along the border communities linking Enugu State with Benue and Kogi States. These areas must no longer be left vulnerable to infiltration by criminal groups.

Specifically, we call for:

* Increased deployment of security personnel to border communities in Igbo Eze North.
* Establishment of well-equipped security checkpoints along major entry and exit routes connecting the local government to neighboring states.
* Strengthened collaboration between security agencies and local vigilante groups to monitor suspicious movements across our borders.
* Immediate and proactive measures to dismantle kidnapping networks operating within and around the local government.

The safety of the people must remain the primary responsibility of government. Igbo Eze North cannot continue to serve as an easy passage for criminals due to weak border security and inadequate surveillance.

Our communities are known for their peaceful nature and industrious people. However, the continued rise in insecurity threatens not only the safety of residents but also the economic activities that sustain many families across the local government.

The Concerned Igbo Eze North Youths therefore urge the Enugu State Government and the leadership of Igbo Eze North Local Government to treat the security situation as a matter of urgent priority. The time for statements has passed; what our people need now are visible and decisive actions that will restore safety and confidence within our communities.

We remain committed to peaceful advocacy and constructive engagement, but we will continue to raise our voices until the safety of our people is guaranteed and the menace of kidnapping is brought to an end.

Signed:

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY) is pleased to announce the successful rescue of eight victims who were recently kidnapped in Aguibeje community and later found in Ete, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

In recent times, insecurity has unfortunately begun to surface in parts of Igbo-Eze North, creating fear and anxiety among our people. OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY CONCERNED IGBO-EZE NORTH YOUTH (CINY) ON THE PKAING OF TWO SECURITY PERSONNEL AND ABDUCTION OF TWO RESIDENTS AT AGUIBEJE

The Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY) expresses deep sorrow, outrage, and total condemnation over the gruesome PKAING of two security personnel by suspected Fulani bandits at Aguibeje community.

This unfortunate and painful incident is not only a direct attack on the safety of our people but also a dangerous escalation of the growing insecurity threatening lives and livelihoods across Igbo-Eze North.

In addition to this tragic loss, we are deeply disturbed that two other residents were abducted by the same attackers, and as at this moment, there is no confirmed information regarding their whereabouts.

These brave security operatives paid the ultimate price while responding to a distress situation in a bid to protect innocent citizens. Their sacrifice must not be in vain.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and pray that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

However, beyond mourning, this moment demands urgent and decisive action.

CINY hereby calls on:

The Igbo-Eze North Local Government Authority
The Enugu State Government
All relevant security agencies

to urgently intervene, intensify security operations, and ensure the immediate rescue of the kid**pped victims who remain in captivity.

The continued occurrence of such violent attacks poses a grave threat to peace, stability, and communal existence. Failure to act swiftly may embolden criminal elements and lead to further escalation of insecurity in our land.

We strongly urge:

1. Immediate search and rescue operations for the abducted persons
2. Deployment of additional security personnel to flashpoint areas
3. Establishment of proactive surveillance and rapid response structures
4. Strengthened collaboration between local vigilante groups and formal security agencies
5. Thorough investigation and pursuit of the perpetrators to ensure justice is served

The safety of our people must be treated as a top priority.

Igbo-Eze North cannot become a safe haven for criminality and banditry.

CINY therefore demands swift government intervention to secure the release of the kid**pped victims and prevent further loss of lives.

CINY remains committed to advocating for peace, security, and the protection of our communities. We stand united with the people of Aguibeje in this moment of grief and call on all stakeholders to rise to the responsibility of safeguarding lives and property.

Enough is enough.

Signed,
Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youth (CINY)
