Theme: Enter Into His Rest – The Posture of Trust

Text: Matthew 11:28–30, Isaiah 30:15

“Come to Me, all
you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest…” — Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength…” — Isaiah 30:15 (NKJV)

Welcome to a New Month!
As we journey into this new season, God extends a royal invitation not just to activity, but to rest.

Not the kind of rest that comes from escape, but the kind that flows from divine assurance, a confidence that He who promised is faithful.

THE DANGER OF PRAYERFUL PANIC
We often pray but still carry the burden. We speak in tongues but still sink in worry. Why? Because our lips trust God, but our hearts still lean on our fears.
True rest doesn’t mean the absence of storms, it means peace in spite of them. Rest is the fruit of trust.

REST IS A POSTURE

When God says “Come to Me… I will give you rest,” He is inviting you to shift postures from panic to peace, from worry to worship, from restlessness to revelation. His rest is not passive,it’s productive peace.

It doesn’t slow you down; it keeps you steady while you move.

INSIGHT FROM ISAIAH 30:15

The reason many miss divine help is because we refuse to slow down. God says: “In returning and rest you shall be saved.” But “you would not.”

Rest is not laziness, it’s alignment. It’s your way of saying: “God, I trust You to be God even when I don’t understand the process.”

✅ KATARTIZO INSIGHT:

God works while you rest. He didn’t call you to carry the whole burden, He called you to walk in step with Him.

Rest is obedience. When you refuse to rest, you’re walking in subtle rebellion against His wisdom.

Miracles often manifest in stillness. He showed up for Elijah in a whisper, not a whirlwind. (1 Kings 19:12)

PROPHETIC DECLARATION FOR THE MONTH:

This month, you will not strive aimlessly.
You will not live in panic.
You will not sabotage your joy with anxiety.
You are entering into God’s Rest, where prayers become testimonies and expectations become manifestations.
He is never late. He is never unsure. He never fails!

Prayer:
Lord, I release every anxiety, doubt, and fear into Your hands. I enter this month choosing Your rest over my worries. Teach me to walk in quiet confidence and let Your peace anchor my soul. Thank You for always showing up right on time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Happy New Month!
Shalom!

KATARTIZO DEVOTIONAL - Tuesday Reflection

The Sweetness of True Friendship

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
— Proverbs 17:17 (NKJV)

There’s an African proverb that says,
“Between true friends, even water drunk together is sweet enough.”
It’s simple. But it’s powerful. And it's deeply biblical.

In a world of social media followers, shifting loyalties, and transactional relationships, true friendship is becoming increasingly rare. Yet, from Genesis to Revelation, we see that God is deeply relational, and He values covenant friendships relationships built not on convenience, but on commitment.

TRUE FRIENDS ARE RARE, BUT WORTH IT

The proverb reminds us that true friends are like precious jewels hard to find, but worth seeking.
Like Jonathan and David. Like Ruth and Naomi. Like Jesus and His disciples.

True friends don’t need luxury to be happy together. Even the “water drunk together” becomes sweet because it’s not about what is shared, but who it’s shared with. These are people who make the ordinary sacred and the simple moments memorable.

False friends, on the other hand, are like sand everywhere, but unstable.
They are like shadows visible when your sun is shining, but absent when darkness falls.

FRIENDSHIP IS A TWO-WAY STREET
A good relationship is not one-sided. It is not meant to be a drain, but a fountain.
Many people suffer silently under the weight of unequal friendships where one person gives and the other only takes. But that’s not friendship that’s manipulation dressed in familiarity.

The kind of relationship God desires for us is like a two-way street a mutual flow of love, respect, encouragement, correction, and trust.

True friends:
Celebrate both your big victories and small wins.

Reflect back the truth of who you are like mirrors, not magnifying glasses.

Lift you when you fall, not walk away in silence.

Tell you the hard truth when you need it, not just what you want to hear.

Jesus: The Friend Who Redefines Friendship

Jesus said in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

Jesus didn’t just teach friendship , He demonstrated it.
He shared meals, tears, journeys, and even His life with His friends.

Through Him, we learn that real friendship is sacrificial, spiritual, and covenantal. It’s not about what we get, but about what we give and who we become through the connection.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Do you have friendships that truly nourish your soul or are you surrounded by draining relationships?

Are you a true friend to others, or only there in their sunshine moments?

Is God calling you to re-evaluate, repair, or release certain friendships?

PRAYER
Father, thank You for the gift of true friendship. Teach me to value relationships that matter and to release those that no longer reflect Your purpose for my life. Help me to be a mirror of truth, a carrier of joy, and a friend who loves at all times. Surround me with people who sharpen me as iron sharpens iron. Above all, make me a friend after the likeness of Christ faithful, kind, and true. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DECLARATION
I walk in the wisdom of godly friendships. I attract covenant relationships. I give and receive love, respect, and truth in all my connections. Even in simplicity, my life is sweet because I walk with true friends ordained by God.

Are We Truly in a Democracy? A Response to Odogwu Akin’s Democracy Day Reflection

Thank you, Odogwu Akin, for articulating what so many of us feel on this so-called Democracy Day. But if democracy truly exists in Nigeria, how do we explain the situation in Enugu State, where even the dead are not spared burial taxes are imposed on grieving families, and outrageously high taxes are levied on small businesses struggling to survive?

Take a look at 9th Mile what should be a vital industrial and transit hub has become a chaotic zone of environmental pollution, urban decay, and outright lawlessness. The Nigerian Bottling Company and Seven-Up Bottling Company shamelessly park their long vehicles indiscriminately, worsening traffic congestion and endangering lives.

The situation is made worse by the Aqua Rapha water factory, whose vehicles frequently break down on the roads, causing avoidable accidents and endangering pedestrians and commuters alike.

Even basic road infrastructure has been overtaken by disarray. Market men and women now sell directly on the main roads, making it impossible to distinguish between the highway and pedestrian walkways. The so-called pedestrian bridge is now a market lane, with human and vehicular traffic dangerously competing for space. It's a daily risk to life and limb and no one seems to care.

Let’s not forget Ọkunmuọ what should be an economic harbor in 9th Mile has now become a hellhole of crime. It harbors armed robbers, cultists, prostitutes, drug traffickers, and is a known hub where Indian h**p and hard drugs are openly sold. This area demands urgent and total sanitation and security intervention, not just the usual empty promises.

And what is our local government doing in the face of all this? Instead of solving real problems, they are busy molding statues and monuments. The last mayor started a statue of Jesus he abandoned it. Now, the new one has molded a statue of Udi map with the slogan “Tomorrow Is Here”. Yet, the flyover road at 9th Mile, which is less than 1 km long and leads directly to his own office in Udi, is still in a shameful, deplorable state.

Every day, road transport workers extort commercial drivers, sometimes even violently. Commuters witness constant fights and harassment , it’s a war zone in broad daylight. Meanwhile, mentally unstable individuals roam freely around 9th Mile, uncared for and forgotten, exposing the state’s complete abandonment of mental healthcare.

And where is the so-called town planning in all of this? Udi Local Government officials, under the guise of “monitoring,” storm building sites to arrest, intimidate, and extort landlords and developers. Instead of promoting development, they sabotage it for selfish gain. Where are the basic infrastructures? The drains, the waste management, the roads?

If this is democracy, then we must ask ourselves: democracy for whom? For the political elite and their cronies? Or for the suffering masses whose voices are silenced every day with hardship, extortion, and institutionalized oppression?

Solutions must start with political will:

Strict regulation of industrial areas, ensuring proper parking zones and penalties for polluters.

Reform of town planning operations to focus on service delivery, not extortion.

Professionalization of road transport unions, with monitoring by security agents to ensure safety and order.

Urgent mental health outreach programs for the vulnerable and mentally ill in public spaces.

Tax relief and transparency, especially on property and burial processes, to protect the dignity of the living and the dead.

Enforcement of market zoning laws, to restore safety and order to our roads and pedestrian spaces.

Traffic safety measures and regulations for companies like Aqua Rapha to maintain their vehicles and prevent road hazards.

Full security overhaul of Ọkunmuọ, rooting out criminal elements and reclaiming the area for legitimate use.

Stop wasteful spending on statues and redirect resources to fix critical infrastructure like the 9th Mile flyover.

To our political leaders in Udi Local Government, Enugu State Government, and at the federal level: We are watching. Democracy is not just a yearly speech or a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It’s about responsible governance and the well-being of the people you serve.

2027 is fast approaching and it will be either a reelection for those who serve or a sacking for those who abuse power. The people are awakening, and democracy will eventually find its true expression through accountability.

Let’s not wait for another Democracy Day to ask the same painful questions.

Once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive.

You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain.

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.

Own Your Week—Don’t Just Survive, Dominate.

Stop dragging into Monday like it’s a punishment. Wake up like a man on a mission.
Pray first. Plan smart. Move with purpose.
Winners don’t wait for motivation—they create it.

Feelings fade. Discipline wins.
You won’t always feel like showing up, but consistency builds momentum.
Set goals. Cut distractions. Focus like a laser. A scattered mind wastes time. A sharp one finishes strong.

Fuel your body. Sweat a little. Stretch a lot.
You can’t crush the week running on empty. Rest smart—not lazy.

Speak life.
Doubt whispers. Faith declares.
The man who believes in his mission moves faster than the one waiting for applause.
Declare the Word. Stay hungry. Think bold.

This is your week. Own it. Lead it. Crush it.
Let the weak snooze—the focused rise.

Happy Monday, Kings. Let’s get it.

A lawyer sold his well to a teacher. Two days later, the lawyer came to the teacher and said, "Sir, I sold you the well, but it's not with the water inside! If you want to use the water, you will have to pay extra."

The teacher smiled and replied, "Yes, I was about to come to you. I was going to say that you should take your water from my well, or else you will have to start paying rent from tomorrow."

Hearing this, the lawyer got nervous and said, "Oh, I was just joking!"

The teacher laughed and said, "This is how people like you become lawyers after studying with us."

Salute to teachers! 🙏🙏
