A Week of Retreat and Renewal for the General Council
The Members of the General Council of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans), resident at the Generalate in Rome, have reached the midpoint of their Autumn Sessions and are now taking a pause for their annual retreat, which will take place from Sunday, 4 October to Saturday, 10 October 2026.
A retreat is a privileged time of stepping away from the ordinary rhythm of work and responsibilities in order to enter more deeply into God's presence. Spiritually, it is an opportunity for prayer, reflection, listening to the Word of God, and renewing one's personal relationship with Christ. Mentally, it offers a space for silence, discernment, and inner renewal, enabling one to regain clarity, focus, and perspective. Physically, it provides a healthy pause from the demands of daily ministry and administration, fostering rest and integration of mind, body, and spirit.
For members entrusted with the leadership and animation of the Congregation worldwide, this retreat is a vital moment to deepen their communion with God, strengthen their fraternity, and renew their commitment to the Spiritan mission.
We accompany them with our prayerful support and wish them a grace-filled week of recollection, peace, spiritual renewal, and openness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. May this time of retreat strengthen them in wisdom, courage, and hope as they continue their service to the Congregation and the Church.
