TOPIC: RESISTING THE DEVIL.

TEXT: Jas 4:7-8; 1 Pet 5:8-9.

THINGS TO DO TO EFFECTIVELY RESIST THE DEVIL.
* Submit to God.
* Draw near to God.
* Cleanse yourselves from contaminations.
* Be sober. (Serious).
* Be vigilant. (Watchful).
* Knowledge of the nature of the enemy you have; an enemy who doesn’t give up. (An adversary).

When you do the above;
* The devil will flee from you.
* God will draw near to us.

- Satan is not a lion, but he roars like one in order to frighten those he seeks to devour. Fear means death in the realm of the spirit, therefore the devil roars to intimidate you with fear so that you can’t resist him in faith.

- You cannot resist the devil effectively over anything or in any area you’ve not completely surrendered to God. You can be born again, and yet, you’re still struggling to surrender some areas of your life to God completely. For example, if you are not willing to give, you can’t be delivered from the spirit of poverty because you are breaking the rule for financial prosperity. (Lk 6:38). This is because you are not a good steward of the resources God has given to you. (Lk 16:10; Gen 12:2). You are blessed materially and financially to be a blessing to the kingdom and to others.
* Anything you’re not willing to surrender to God will become your most vulnerable area for the devil’s attacks.
* The devil will always flee from everything you’ve completely surrendered to God; and what you don’t surrender to God will eventually control you.
* You cannot effectively resist the devil if he has a legal ground against you. (Jn 14:30).
* If you want freedom, but you are still compromising, and feeding your carnal desires, you are fighting against the spirit of liberty, and the devil will resist your deliverance. (1 Cor 3:17).

- To be able to resist the devil steadfastly in your faith, you must abide in Christ and in His word. (John 15:5,7. You are to decide whether to abide - stay, or remain in Christ, and in His word. This is why Col 3:16 admonished us, “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.” You resist the devil with the word of God, which is the only offensive weapon of our spiritual warfare mentioned in Eph 6:10-17; it is called “the sword of the Spirit.” The Lord Jesus Christ resisted Satan when he came to tempt Him with the written word of God. The word became a sword in His mouth as He quoted it to the devil. (Matt 4:1-11).

- In conclusion, the battlefield for our spiritual warfare is the mind. The devil plays a mind game and builds a stronghold with every thought you allow to dominate your mind. (2Cor 10:4-5). This is why you must resist him steadfastly in faith and by the written word of God; the shield of faith (defensive) and the sword of the spirit (offensive).

(John 15:7-8; Prov 4:20-22, 1Jn 5:4), indicates that you can receive any miracle from God If you:
* Submit and draw near to God.
* Are watchful and careful about the way you live.
* Resist the devil firmly and consistently by faith in the name of Jesus.
* Abide in Christ and allow the word of God to control you.
* Pay attention to the teachings you are receiving from the word of God. (Lk 5:15).
* Focus on the word despite what is happening around you or in the world.
* Renew your mind by meditating on it daily as a habit. (Jos 1:8).
* Confess and declare what the word says as a testimony that you believe. (2Cor 4:13).
* Accept free, Rely, Act on, and Live the word.
Prov 18:21. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Stop talking about what the devil has done, or is doing!
Stop talking about what you see, feel or hear physically.
Stand on what the word of God says about who you are in Christ.
Change your wrong mindset about the devil and stop seeing him as powerful; see satan as a defeated enemy.

Pray these prayers.
* Every satanic garrison monitoring my life, family, ministry/business or my destiny, be pulled down now, in the name of Jesus.
* Every door of satanic invasion into my life, be closed now by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU DID NOT LABOUR FOR.

TEXT: Jn 4:26-38.

Jesus came to Sychar, in Samaria and sat by Jacob’s well and His disciples went to get some food from the town.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water from the well and after the Lord had witnessed to her, she was convinced that Jesus was the Messiah, and she went and invited people from the city to meet the Lord.

The disciples came back while He was still talking to the Samaritan woman and wondered why He was talking to a woman.
The disciples told Him to eat but He responded, “I have food to eat of which you do not know. My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” (Vs 32, 34).
* In other words, “I derive My satisfaction from doing the works of My Father, and not from physical food. I reaped from an area, outside the people I was primarily sent to; I reaped a benefit from the labour of another person.” (Vs 35-38).

THE MESSAGE.
In Matt. 15:22-28. A Canaanite woman cried after Jesus and pleaded with Him to have mercy and heal her daughter, who was possessed by a demon. In verse 24, Jesus said to her, “I am sent to the lost sheep of Israel”. But when she persisted, Jesus said to her, “Go, Your faith is great,” and her daughter was healed and delivered. She reaped what she did not Labour for.

August, the 8th month is usually referred to as the month of new beginning. From this text God gave me, from this month, you will reap what you didn’t labour for; the benefits of other peoples’ labours.

Gen 15:13-14.
Abraham obeyed God and God entered into a covenant of blessing with him, and told him that his descendants would be oppressed in a foreign land for 400 years. However, his descendants would come out from the foreign land with their wealth.

In Exo 12:35-36. Before the children of Israel left Egypt the night the Lord slew all their first born, they asked from their neighbours articles of gold, silver and other things they could carry, as Moses had commanded them to do.

Isa 45:3, God promised to give king Cyrus the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places to be able to carry out the divine assignment He had given him.

Gal 6:9 says you will reap your rewards of your good work in due season, from this month God will give you the treasures of darkness and the hidden riches of secret places if you are committed to your divine assignment.

God will send helpers of destiny, who will help you to discover your potentials. God will give you divine creativity and gifts that will make you marketable in life. When you step out each day, believe that God will make things easy for you and give you the benefits of what others have laboured for.

* God will give you such favour and divine creativity that will make you marketable in the market of life.
* If you are a contractor, God will give you a contract that you did not bid, ask, or sweat for.
* If you are looking for a job, keep applying, believing that God is going to give you a job, even a job you are not qualified for.
* If you are a worker, believe that God will give you a promotion you do not deserve.
* If you are a student, believe that God will give you an excellent spirit like Daniel, that will distinguish you from your mates, and make you ten times better than your classmates. (Dan 1:8, 17-20).

Don’t ask me how God is going to do it or begin to reason it in your mind like the Pharisees reasoned why Jesus should say to the man sick of palsy; “Your sins are forgiven”.
Jesus said to them in verse 9, “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, your sins are forgiven you, or to say, Arise, take up your bed and walk?”

Everything is easier with God, for with men it is impossible, but not with God. All you need to do is to receive it and act on the declarations by faith. Act by faith because without faith, you cannot please God or receive anything from Him. (Hebrews 11:6). By faith, and as you go about God’s kingdom business, what is difficult and hard for others will become easy for you because, “All things are possible to anyone who believes.”

(OUR INHERITANCE PT 2).

TOPIC: REDEMPTION IN CHRIST.

TEXT: Col 1:14; Eph 1:7; Heb 2:5-15.

Redemption and forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ is our divine inheritance. Satan and his cohorts have no right to condemn believers. (Rm 8:1).

According to Gal 4:4-5, Christ was born under the law to redeem those who were under the law.
* Redemption means to buy back a property or someone who had been sold or mortgaged.
The law of redemption is recorded in Lev 25:47-52.
1. The redeemer must be a kinsman.
2. He must be willing to redeem the man or property. (Ruth 4:1-6; Jn 10:17-18).
3. He must have the price to pay.
Heb 2:10-15, shows that the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the conditions for our redemption.
Vs 6-9 is a quotation from (Psa 8:4-6). “What is man that you are mindful of him,……that You set him over the works of Your hand? You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
Vs 8b says, “But now we do not yet see all things put under him.” Adam sold the dominion to the devil when he submitted to his deception. (Gen 2:16; 3:1-19,23).
Vs 9. “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the Angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.” Everything that was said about man is also said about the Lord as God man.

- Jesus Christ was born by a woman just as every man; He suffered, died and was buried like everyone who is born into the world. The resurrection is what qualified Him as God who came in human form with power and authority to restore back our lost position in the world through. (Gen 1:26-28).
* He brought man back to God and qualified him to receive His blessings.
* He restored man’s glory and honour.
* He restored the dominion over the creation.(the works of God’s hand).
* He restored man as the “god of this world.” While God was the God of heaven and earth, Adam was the god of this world. He was only under God’s authority and had the power to control the world on God’s behalf.

Heb 2:10. God sent Jesus to earth so that the purpose for creating man will not be defeated; for fellowship. “For it was fitting for Him, …..in bringing many sons to glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering.”

Jesus sanctified believers to be integral part of Himself, He is not ashamed to call us brethren. (Vs 10-11).

- Vs 14-15. Jesus shared our human nature, died on the cross and resurrected, “That through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bo***ge.”

- Salvation isn’t just about going to heaven but also:
* Freedom from every form of fear as our kingdom inheritance.
* Deliverance from spiritual death, and premature death. (Psa 91:16). Jesus raised everyone who died prematurely when He was contacted.

You must insist on your right of inheritance in Christ Jesus because:
1. The Lord Jesus became our kinsman redeemer by taking our nature. (Jn 10:17-18).
2. He was willing to give all for our sakes. (2Cor 8:9).
3. Since He is divine, He was able to pay the price with His own blood. (1 Cor 6:20).

CONCLUSION
The price tag on a commodity determines the value of that commodity. (Rm 8:32).
* God is mindful of you and values you, if you are a believer, above any other thing else.
* You are God’s property, He will not let anything touch you, harm or destroy you, not even satan the devil. (Col 3:3; 1Pet 3:12-13).
* Calvary is our emancipation proclamation from every evil in this world. (Gal 1:4; 1Thess 1:10).

When the slaves of South America received the Emancipation Proclamation, they were still living in slave quarters, they still looked and felt like slaves. But when they heard the Emancipation proclamation read, they had the legal right to say, “I am free” and to act on their liberty.

Jn 8:36 says “Whoever the Son sets free is free indeed”.
* Confess your redemption from sin, from the dominion of satan, demons and the powers of darkness.
* Confess your freedom from fear, poverty, sickness and diseases, etc, Let the devil hear and know that you have known the truth and that he has no legal right to control the affairs of your life.
* Don’t let adversity, hardship, want and lack or whatever challenge you’re facing to kill you prematurely when Christ has already died prematurely on your behalf.
* Don’t allow the world system to cage you by influencing your mindset. You have dominion over the world’s system.

DECLARATIONS
1. Today, I know my inheritance in Christ, that God has crowned me with glory and honour. My glory and honour, wherever you are, be restored to me now! In the name of Jesus.
2. I take back my dominion and authority over the creation from satan, in the name of Jesus.
3. Any power controlling the world system to my hurt, take your hands off my divine inheritance now, in the name of Jesus.
4. I dethrone and slay every satanic high priest ministering before any evil altar in my place of birth and neighbourhood, in the name of Jesus.
5. I nullify the effects of such evil altar and command their servant spirit to be paralysed and roasted by fire, in the name of Jesus.

Rev. David King Onuoha | EMANCIPATION CHAPEL | SUN, 26TH JULY, 2026.

TOPIC: INSIST ON YOUR INHERITANCE (PART 1).

TEXT: Gal 5:1, Col 1:12-14.

- An inheritance is what you receive from parents or relatives as a member of a family or as a relative. It could be properties, assets, money or traits. You don’t labour, strive or work for it, but it is a matter of right as a son/daughter or next of Kin.
* To insist on your inheritance in Christ as a matter of right, take the devil to the court of heaven for hindering or stealing your divine inheritance from you.

Gal. 4:1 indicates that you may be an heir of an estate or a big money in a bank, but if you are still a baby, you will be treated like a slave because someone else is running it on your behalf until you become an adult.
* If you are a spiritual baby or ignorant of your inheritance in Christ, you will still be influenced and controlled by the kingdom of darkness.
* You must grow up spiritually to be able to contend with the powers of darkness in prayers, and by declaring your right constantly.

- In Gal 5:1, Apostle Paul admonished us to stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and not to be entangled again with a yoke of bo***ge. In other words, a believer can ignorantly bring himself into satanic bo***ge by his own actions.

Col 1:12-14. We are to give thanks to God always because:
1. God the Father has qualified us to share in His inheritance. (Everything that belongs to Him). 2 Cor 5:17 says that if we are in Christ, we are new creatures; that is, we are not just forgiven, poor, wretched and weak sinners; we have been recreated. Initially, we were created in Adam, full of sin and without hope, ruled and controlled by satan, nature, demons and the world. But now we have been recreated in Christ Jesus.
* The “in” shows that we are an integral part of Jesus; we have been grafted into Christ (Jn 15:5, Rom 11:17). We have the life of God, the nature of God and the ability of God.

2. Deliverance from the dominion of darkness.

3. Translated into the Kingdom of the Son of His love.

4. We have Redemption through His blood.

5. We have forgiveness of sins.

* Everyone in this world is either under the dominion of the kingdom of darkness or under the authority and dominion of the Kingdom of Christ. Those who are not born again are under the control and authority of the kingdom of darkness (satan). Those who are born again are described as saints, and they are qualified to share God’s divine estate with Jesus Christ as heirs of God and joint heirs with Him. (Rm 8:17).

* Believers are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, and should no longer be ruled and controlled by satan.

* Christianity is described as a warfare because the kingdom of darkness will fight against the believer to discourage him from believing in Christ. This is the reason why you must fight the good fight of faith in the face of temptations, trials, persecution, etc. (2Tim 6:12).

* Dominion in Hebrew means ‘Raw-daw: To tread down or subjugate, to have dominion, to prevail against, to reign or rule over.
* In Greek it is ‘Koo-re-yoo.” Meaning, to have dominion over, lord, be lord of, exercise lordship over. As a noun it means Supremacy, ie, supreme in authority.

If you are delivered from the dominion of darkness, satan’s rule and authority over your life has ended. Satan can no longer tread down on you, subjugate or prevail against you in the battle of life. Satan’s rulership or supremacy over your life has ended. You’re conveyed from the kingdom of satan to the Kingdom of Christ, and you should not leave any forwarding address to that kingdom.
According to 1 Tim 6:16, we are now dwelling with Christ in the light which no man can approach, not even satan.

* To insist on your inheritance, you must tell the devil who you are; you have received a new Lord and Master! Tell Satan that he is no longer your master, therefore, he has no legal right to put any of his stuff on you. Be it weakness, diseases, sickness, failure, nightmares or other spiritual and physical afflictions.

* To insist on your inheritance; old habits, sins, spiritual transactions and connections to the kingdom of darkness must be severed.

* God is not just our strength, He is by our side. Christ is in us and with us (Rom 8:31).
Learn how to stand firm in your freedom. Learn how to submit to God. Learn how to resist the devil. Hebrew 3:1 says, “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.”
Jesus is called the high priest of our confession.

* In these evil days, in the midst of famine, trouble, hardship, persecution, lack or whatever challenge you may be facing, hold fast the confession of your faith. (Heb 10:23).

PRAYERS.
1. Spirit of wisdom and power, come mightily upon me today and empower me to crush every power of darkness lurking around my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. You evil spiritual guardian over my divine estate, I’ve grown up and I sack you now, in the name of Jesus.
3. By the power of the blood of Jesus, I challenge every power of darkness contending with me over my divine inheritance, in the name of Jesus.
4. No matter the troubles in this world, Jesus Christ overcame the world for me, I take hold of Christ’s victory now, in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: GOD OF THE SUDDEN! VISIT ME.

TEXT: Mal 3:1-6.

FOR GOD OF THE SUDDEN TO VISIT:
(Matt 3:1-11).
* There must be a messenger - a preacher of righteousness.
* The way and the people must be prepared. A conducive atmosphere must be created for His arrival, and the people willing and ready to receive Him.
* The people He will visit suddenly are those who have a covenant relationship with Him.
* They must be willing and sincere seekers for a change.

WHY HE IS COMING TO VISIT.
Vs 2-5; Isa 29:5-6; 41:11, tells us what He will do when He visits suddenly.
1. He comes to refine and purify us from every iniquity and anything that had shortened His hands from reaching us and blocked His ears from hearing our prayers. (Isa 59:1-2).
2. He comes to deal with our enemies, anyone and everything that is attacking us.
3. He comes not only to avenge for us, but to turn our enemies and problems into dry leaves that fire consumes.
4. There will be a divine intervention, and all our heart’s desires and long awaited miracles will be met.
5. He will baptize us with fresh fire so that we will be more effective in fulfilling our divine purposes in life.

- Vs 6 is an assurance of His Almightiness and ability to do what He has said He would do. An assurance for us to trust Him for protection, provision and deliverance from every power, circumstance or situation that rises against us. It implies that unless God changed, nothing in heaven or on earth and under the earth will be able to destroy His covenant children. Num 23:19 says, “God can never lie.” Jer 1:11-12, says, “God will hasten His word to perform it.” All you need to do, is to see well; to have a right perspective about God, and His word, who you are, and your privileges in Christ.

- For God to intervene suddenly in your life, circumstance and situation, you must see well like Jeremiah. God said to Jeremiah, “You have seen well.”Vs 11.

God is not sleeping or silent about your case, He is alert and active, making sure that what He says about you will come to pass.

If you are convinced that you have fulfilled the aforementioned conditions, then pray these prayers.

PRAYER POINTS.
1. O Lord, come suddenly to Your temple today, and visit me, in the Name of Jesus.
2. Devouring fire of the Almighty God, consume every sickness and problem that has defied solutions in my life, in the Name of Jesus.
3. You evil personality hindering and suppressing my progress in life, receive sudden destruction now, in the Name of Jesus.
4. Consuming fire of the Almighty God, destroy every satanic weapon fashioned against me and my family, in the Name of Jesus.
5. All my buried and forgotten miracles, resurrect and manifest now by fire, in the Name of Jesus.

Thank God for His sudden intervention in your situations.
