FLOURISHING PARISH WOMEN's DAY SERVICE.
TOPIC: The God of Impossibilities
ANCHOR's TEXT: Luke 1:35-37
(Mark 10-27)
MINISTERING: Deaconess Onyia
Today is the 25 day in the month of june, is the women's day. Today is the day of the women, you know God almighty is a merciful God and he loves women so much that coming into the world to die on the cross, he did this coming through the womb of a woman, the almighty God who can do all things would have just come in a very different and special way and nobody would have questioned him but he decided to come through the womb of a woman, that's why our Lord has a special thought and a special love for the women.
Before we go on I would like us to say this series of Prayer this morning, for women who are in different issues of life, women who are passing through different challenges of life, several woman are under going issues in marriage and different challenges of life.
PRAYER POINT
1) Father! remember the widows, fight there battles for them.
2) Ooh God! remember the barren women, Father bless them this day, open their womb.
3) Father remember the aged women, who has nobody to carter for them, Father carter for them.
4) Father! all those women who are looking for help where there's no help, Father draw them to yourself.
I want us to know am not partial and I want us to know that every one of us God has brought to this world through a woman.
Personally I know every word of God is true. The Bible tells us this morning with God all things are possible as we explore through the scripture we will be taking samples of women because today is women's day, women who encounter this God of impossibility, but the first question I want to ask each and every one of us, who is this God?
During the early ministering of our Lord Jesus Christ, at a point in time he ask his disciples, who do people say I am and they gave different answers after that he now ask them, who do you think that I am? Glory be to God, them apostle Peter was able to answer that question, and told him that you're the Christ the son of the old time God.
And the God of impossibility we are talking about this morning, we are not talking about any other God, we are not talking about idles, we are not talking about the rich ones in our society, that can place themselves as god, no.
We are talking about the God of heaven and earth, we're talking about the creator of all universe, we are talking about who sits upon the throne, we are talking about the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are talking about the God of all flesh, we are talking about the Omnipotent God, Omniscience God, and then the omnipresence God, we are talking God who is Glorious, who is longsuffering, who is internal, who can do all things, we are talking about the God of the spirit.
The song we sang this morning, says that he is the key that every other things hide under him, he is internal, he has no beginning and he has no end, he existed before we came in and God will still exist by the time we exit this world, he lives forever, he is unsearchable, he is the perfect God, he is a just God, he is a patient God, he gives us time, he gives us time for repentance, for amendment, he also gives us time to come back to him, he is not always quick in dealing with us according to our action, he's a long-suffering God, that's why the Bible said that he mercy endureth for ever, that Is why whenever we come short of his glory and come back to him in repentance, he always extend his hands of mercy and take us back.
A number of prophets in the bible encounter God in his greater and marvelous ways and they gave him different names, according to Daniel, when he saw the glory of God Daniel describe it as the ancient of days and God manifested to Elijah in the form of the consuming fire and in different language and dialect of the world, people give God different names, even in the Bible, Abraham at a time even called him jehovah-jireh because at that point in time it looks like there is no hope and God provided hope for Abraham and he called him jehovah-jireh and so many others.
We want to look at the life of Sarah the mother of Isaac and the wife of Abraham, Abraham the man who encountered God and a man who is regarded as the father of faith, a man who encountered God when he had a big challenge, a problem that looks so big, he was blessed with wealth but his wife has no child, let's quickly open our bible to the book of "Genesis 6:1" Sarah as we all know was barren and she was aged, she was old in age and today's biology we were made to understand women who has passed their menopause no longer give birth again at this stage their reproductive system as packed up but the Bible made us to understand that this woman called Sarah encountered God through her husband Abraham.
"Genesis 17:19" if you look at the age of Sarah then, honestly humanly it was impossible for such a person to get a child but as they continue to work with God in "Genesis 21:2" we were made to know that Sarah gave to birth in her 90's, let's assume that our mama Nancy who's about 80 something is pregnant now, does it not look impossible in human eyes? It looks impossible in the eyes of man so that was the encounter Sarah and Abraham during their time, I don't know any of us maybe you have been believing God for one thing or another other or you have been standing in the gap for somebody for one thing or the other, I want to bring good news for us this morning that God can still do it.
When he counted Moses, what did he do? Moses ask who are you and he told Moses I am that I am, and that I am that I am is ever-present God.
Meaning that he is the same yesterday he is the same today he is the same forever more.
We have several medical cases that the doctors have passed a verdict that this issue can not be solved. I have the one that happened in my office the doctor told her look at all the evidence you can't be able to have a child but there are other alternatives, go for IVF, and then she said she held on to God she believed God and today I want to tell you the woman is a mother today.
We also had another woman who encountered God who had barrenness. Elizabeth the wife of Zechariah and the mother of John the Baptist, the one that was a forerunner of our Lord Jesus. John the Baptist was the forerunner for our Lord Jesus Christ what was the impossible thing there is that his mother was barren, she had no child until her old age. What angel Gabriel announced to Zachariah about his wife came to pass and she conceived and gave to bed.
We also have another woman in the Bible you now her own case it was not the issue of barrenness it was the issue of a crucial issue in the palace and this issue looks so important because it requires life or death and that person is Queen Esther in the Bible, in the world today you can say she was standing in between the devil and the blue deep sea. Let's go to the book of "Esther 4:11" and you can see more in "Esther 4:16".
I want us to know that our God is greater than any red sea, as we make sacrifices of Prayer, Fellowship, and Fasting our Lord will make the impossible possible for us in Jesus' name Amen!
