THE POWER OF COLLECTIVE PRAYER
(Standing Strong as the Body of Christ)

TO THE BIBLE - Ephesians 6:12
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”

LET’S TALK
A few years ago, there was a calculated move by global powers—backed by dark, demonic forces—to take total control over our cities, schools, and even our churches. That was Covid. It was a wild, global crisis where the whole world was basically on "pause." The streets were a ghost town: no cars, no people, and our normal freedom was totally stripped away. These evil forces didn't care about people; they were ready to sacrifice anything to push their own agenda.

But I knew a secret: the power of the Church—the Body of Christ—is on a whole different level than anything they can throw at us. All we had to do was pray and praise God, and that’s exactly what we did. We linked up in prayer and took a stand to take back our streets and communities from the forces trying to "gatekeep" our world. And glory to God, we got the win!

Why does this matter to you? When your church or your pastor calls for prayer and fasting, don’t scroll past it or ignore the invite. There is so much we can crush when we work together as the Body of Christ! In Acts 4:31, we see how the squad’s collective prayer gave them the fire to speak the Word: “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

Check out Acts 12:5-16 for another "epic save." The church was praying hard for Peter while he was locked up in prison. Their prayers moved heaven, and an angel showed up to stage a miraculous jailbreak! Hallelujah! You should be glad every time you get to pray with other Christians. That’s when we "flex" the power of the Church. We refuse to let the enemy take what’s ours. Instead, we flip the script in our nations and declare total restoration in the Name of Jesus.

GO DEEPER
James 5:16 AMPC Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

PRAY
Dear Father, thank you for the power of communal prayer and for the authority you've given us through Christ Jesus to stand against every principality and power of darkness. We resist every demonic agenda over the nations through wars, kidnappings, killings and injustice; we speak life, restoration and victory over our cities and nations, declaring peace within our borders, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

John 14:13
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The Name of Jesus is the most powerful Name in the whole world! When you use His Name, all of heaven backs you up.

Peter used that Name when he told a man who couldn’t walk, “In the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk!” And immediately, the man jumped up and walked (Acts 3:6–8). That same Name works for you today!

So, whenever you pray, heal the sick, or declare God’s Word—do it in the Name of Jesus. His Name always brings victory.

*THEME: THE LAW OF THE DOUBLE PORTION*

*SCRIPTURE: But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his (Deuteronomy 21:17).*

Many misunderstand what the Bible refers to as the principle or law of the double portion. According to this principle, let’s say a man had six sons to whom he was required to apportion his inheritance. He was required to divide his inheritance into seven equal parts or portions. Each son would receive one portion, while the extra or seventh portion was given to the firstborn.

That extra portion to the firstborn means he got the “double portion.” He got double what everyone else got; it’s not about receiving twice as much as what the father had. The double portion is the right of the firstborn, a mark of inheritance, a symbol of leadership and heirship in the family. The one who received the double portion became the heir and the one recognized to carry on the father’s authority and name.

Genesis 48:5-6 shows that Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob, was entitled to the double portion. But he lost it due to his transgression. The inheritance was transferred to Joseph, who received it through his sons Ephraim and Manasseh. This is why there are two tribes, Ephraim and Manasseh, named after Joseph, instead of only one tribe.

The same principle is what Elisha referred to when he said to Elijah, “...I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me” (2 Kings 2:9). He wasn’t asking for twice the “anointing” Elijah had; how is that even possible? Rather, he was requesting to inherit Elijah’s position as the leading prophet, as the ‘firstborn’ as it were, among the school of prophets.

When Elijah was taken up by a chariot of fire, Elisha saw it happen. The mantle of Elijah fell, and Elisha picked it up. Returning to the Jordan, he asked, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” and struck the waters. The Jordan parted just as it had for Elijah. When the sons of the prophets saw this, they bowed before Elisha and declared, “...The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha...” (2 Kings 2:15). They recognised that the same spirit, the same prophetic office and authority was now upon Elisha.

That’s the true meaning of the double portion: inheriting the same authority and position, not necessarily asking for more power or “double anointing”; there’s no such thing. You already have the Spirit living in you in His fullness. Hallelujah!

*Dear Father, thank you for granting me understanding through your Word. I walk in the knowledge of my inheritance in Christ, exercising authority and dominion as your heir. Your Word enlightens my path and causes me to function in wisdom and truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

Praying in the Spirit is the most effective way for us to pray as Christians. But praying in the Spirit is in two parts. The first is when your spirit prays by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, giving you words in the Spirit in other tongues. As you pray in those tongues, your spirit is energised, built up like a towering edifice: Jude 1:20, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.”

1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself....” This is why we tell God’s people to speak in tongues a lot. It keeps your spirit, soul and body supercharged with the power of God. You’re edified, fortified, strengthened with might in your inner man by the Spirit. Hallelujah!

But then there’s also a second level of praying in the Spirit that’s also of great blessing and benefit. This time, it’s not your spirit that’s praying but the Holy Spirit Himself praying or making intercession through you. That’s what we read in our opening scripture.

In the first one, He gives you utterance, you speak words in tongues. But in this case, there’s no utterance; you don’t speak in a known or unknown language; rather, what comes out of you are deep sighs and groanings of the Spirit. At that level, the Holy Spirit takes over completely, praying through you in perfect harmony with the will of the Father.

When you allow the Holy Spirit to intercede through you this way, the result is always glorious. The scripture says, “...He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit...” (Romans 8:27). It’s not your mind or your understanding; it’s the Spirit’s mind being expressed through you. The ensuing verse 28 reveals part of the outcome, “…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” Yielding to the Holy Spirit to intercede through you causes all things to align and work out in your favour, including adverse or challenging situations. That’s the power of praying in the Spirit, amongst several other blessings and benefits. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit, who helps me to pray according to your perfect will. Even now, as I pray in the Spirit, I’m filled with your power, and my life is aligned with your purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

PROVING GOD THROUGH FAITH
(Trusting the Father’s Love)

TO THE BIBLE - Jeremiah 32:27
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me.”

LET’S TALK
A young lady was born with a severe blood condition. After years of failed treatments and endless reports of “no hope” from doctors, she was overwhelmed. When she shared her story, it was clear she thought more about the size of her problem than the greatness of God. But in just a moment, with a simple declaration, “In the Name of Jesus Christ, you are made whole,” everything changed. A couple of weeks later, she did all the medical tests and there was no trace of the sickness in her body anymore.

As a child of God, never find yourself in situations of desperation or lack where you’re constrained to beg. Even in prayer, God doesn’t want you to beg Him; He has honoured you too much for that. Instead, take your rightful place as His heir. Embrace your position as a child of the Monarch of the universe, honoured, dignified and glorified. The challenge with some folks is that they think about the size of their problems instead of putting their focus on the Lord. What you need is to prove God in your life.

Observe what He says in Malachi 3:10, “...prove me now herewith....” Prove Him and see; He’s not intimidated by the greatness of your need. Trust God with your life. Do your part, and He will do His part. He’s more willing and enthusiastic for your success than you could ever be for yourself. That’s why when you pray, don’t plead or act as though He’s reluctant to bless you.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:11, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Simply exercise your faith, and trust in the Lord, for He loves you more than you love yourself, and He’s more than able to sustain you in the realm of superabundance. Prove Him in your life.

PRAY
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word, which assures me of your limitless power and abundant provisions. I trust you completely with my life, knowing that my needs are within your supply system. I declare boldly that I’m abundantly supplied, walking in the realms of superabundance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

LOVE SEES REAL VALUE

1 John 4:8
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Some people think love is just a feeling—like saying, “I love my best friend because she’s nice,” or “I love him because he helps me.” But real love is much more than that. True love isn’t based on how people act or look—it comes from God, because God is love!

When God looked at the world, He saw how valuable people are, even though many didn’t believe in Him or obey Him. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16). God didn’t love the buildings or the trees—He loved people Even when they did wrong things, He still saw their true worth and sent Jesus to save them.

That’s the kind of love God has put inside you. It’s called the God-kind of love, and it helps you see others the way He does. So, don’t love people only when they’re kind or friendly. Love everyone—because that’s how God loves you. When you see others through His eyes, you’ll realize that everyone is precious and valuable.

NO SUBSTITUTE TO THE NEW BIRTH

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

There are people who think if their good works outweigh their bad works, then God would accept them. But it’s not about good works and bad works; it’s about your nature. Galatians 6:15 says, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.” Being a new creature, with the life and nature of God is what determines your place with Him.

It’s for the same reason the Lord Jesus said, “You must be born again.” That wasn’t a denominational idea or a church doctrine. It’s your only access to eternal life. He said, “...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). In other words, that person can’t access, know or understand the Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is already here in Christ Jesus, but you can’t be part of it until you’re born again.

John 3:6 says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” This new birth is the recreation of the human spirit by the Holy Ghost through the Word of God. It’s not a religious experience; it’s the impartation of the life and nature of God into your spirit. That’s why the Lord said, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).

There’s no alternative; it’s not a matter of choice or personal preference. If you’re going to be part of God’s Kingdom, you must be born again to experience the God life and come into oneness with Him. It can’t happen any other way. Perhaps you’re reading this and you’ve never been born again, turn to the prayer of salvation page at the end of the book, say the words and mean them with all your heart. Right away, you’ll become a child of God with eternal life imparted to your spirit.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I affirm that I’m born again, a new creature in Christ Jesus. I walk in the reality of the divine life and function in your kingdom of light, righteousness and glory. Thank you for making me one with you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MEDITATING AND ACTING ON THE WORD
(The Recipe for Good Success)

TO THE BIBLE - 1 Timothy 4:15
"Meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all."

LET'S TALK
In life, there's success, and then there's good success. Good success is God's will for you, and it has a key recope: meditating on the Word! God said in Joshua 1:8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

The instruction is clear: keep the Word in your mouth, meditate on it constantly so that you may act on it. This is the divine recipe for good success and prosperity. Notice that the scripture doesn't say God will make your way prosperous; it says you will make your way prosperous as a result of doing the Word---acting on what you meditate upon day and night. The Amplified Classic (AMPC) puts it this way, "This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success."

The Word of God in your mouth and heart, coupled with consistent action, produces wisdom, prosperity and good success. When I discovered this as a young teenager, it settled everything for me. I knew I was destined for success because I found the principle that produces it. I even declared to my classmates that I was going to be very successful. Why? I could see it in the Word. God already showed me what to do, and I was going to act on it. At such a young age, I held "Success in Life Seminars," teaching these principles to others. I had seen the truth in God's Word and I knew it worked. Even now, the principle remains the same: meditate on the Word; act on it, and good success, not just success, will be the inevitable result. Hallelujah!

GO DEEPER
Psalm 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein,] he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

PRAY
Dear Father, I thank you for the light of your Word that illuminates my path and teaches me the principles for a successful life. I make my way prosperous and deal wisely in all my affairs because your Word is in my heart and in my mouth always. Thank you for the assurance of good success in all I do, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

DO WHAT JESUS SAYS

John 2:5
His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it.

When Jesus told the servants at the wedding to fill the jars with water, they obeyed---and a miracle happened! The water turned into wine (John 2:7-10).

That's the power of obedience. When you act on God's Word quickly and gladly, you'll always see great results in your life.

Don't hesitate when God speaks to you through His Word or in your heart. Do what He says, and you'll enjoy His blessings every time!
