The maiden edition of the Eket Deanery CYON Spelling Bee Competition was successfully held with active participation of the parishes within the deanery with 7 parishes in attendance out of 9 that registered.
The event was organized to promote academic excellence, improve vocabulary, and encourage healthy intellectual competition among CYON members.
The competition featured several rounds of spelling challenges, during which contestants displayed impressive confidence, knowledge, and composure.
At the end of the competition, St. Gregory's Parish emerge as the winner, St. Stephen 1st runnerup, St Theresa parish as the 2nd Runner up, the Rev. Fr. Augustine Ubom also awarded cash prize to the youngest contestants Miss Divine Uchechi from st. Fabian's Police chaplaincy.
The prizes and certificates will be presented to the winners during the general meeting at SS Peter and Paul Ibeno cm 26th of this month.
The deanery expresses sincere appreciation to the organizers, judges, participating parishes, sponsors, and everyone whose contributions made the event memorable and successful event.
