Celebrating a Life of Faith, Courage, and Kingdom Service
With hearts filled with gratitude to God for a life well lived, we celebrate the glorious homegoing of Prince Yoosoof Lawal Obelawo, who transitioned to eternal glory at the age of 96.
Prince Yoosoof Lawal Obelawo was more than a devoted friend of the ministry, he was a beloved spiritual son and close associate of our grandfather, Prophet Samson Oladiji Akande (Baba Abiye), whose life stood as a powerful testimony to the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Though born into a Muslim background, he made the courageous decision to follow Christ wholeheartedly, publicly declaring his faith without reservation. From that moment, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the Gospel, allowing his life to become a testimony of conviction, devotion, and unwavering faith.
He faithfully accompanied Baba Abiye on numerous gospel crusades and kingdom assignments, generously supporting the work of God with his resources, influence, and presence. His passion for the advancement of the Gospel and his sacrificial commitment to Christian outreaches left an enduring mark on countless lives.
To our father, Prophet Funso Akande, he was a father figure, a trusted supporter, and a source of wisdom and encouragement. His love for the ministry and his unwavering commitment to God's work will never be forgotten.
Today, while we mourn his departure, we rejoice in the confidence that he has gone to be with the Lord whom he loved, confessed, and faithfully served. His earthly journey may have come to an end, but his legacy of faith, generosity, and steadfast service will continue to inspire generations.
Sleep on, Prince Yoosoof Lawal Obelawo.
Thank you for a life poured out in service to God and humanity. Your labour in the Kingdom was not in vain, and your memory will forever remain a blessing.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
