THE ATONEMENT (SERIES 1)
TOPIC: NOAH'S ARK: A SHADOW OF REDEMPTION
Genesis 6:13–22
Just as the blood of Christ was shed for man's redemption, the ark of Noah was a kind of Christ's redemption. A shadow of things to come (Hebrew 10:1). The plants that were cut down to make the wood also had life in the them. Cutting down the trees means lives were taken to build the ark that saved them from the flood.
Atonement is an act taken in order to redeem oneself. Noah's ark is one of God's pictures of redemption. He purposed to wipe every living thing on earth but to spare a particular generation which happens to be Noah's generation.
When flood came to the world of sin, they were inside safe and sound. They were redeemed from the flood of the world. Entering the ark made them safe.
