BIBLE STUDY
SPEAKER: Eld. M. Effiom
TOPIC: The Person of the Holy Spirit
TEXTS: Genesis 1:1–2, John 14:16–17, Deuteronomy 6:4

INTRODUCTION

Many people think of the Holy Spirit as merely a force, an influence, or a power. However, the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force but a Person. Although He possesses power, He is much more than power itself. He is God.

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. God has revealed Himself as one God existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

According to Deuteronomy 6:4, there is only one God, yet He exists in three distinct Persons who are:
Co-equal – Each Person is fully God.
Co-eternal – None was created; all have always existed.
Co-existent – They exist together eternally.

The Holy Spirit shares the same divine nature as the Father and the Son.
1. The Holy Spirit Is a Person
A person possesses qualities such as a mind, a will, and emotions.

The Holy Spirit has all these attributes.
a) The Holy Spirit Has a Mind (Romans 8:27)
The Holy Spirit has the ability to think, know, and understand. He searches hearts and knows the mind and purposes of God.

b) The Holy Spirit Has a Will (1 Corinthians 12:11)
The Holy Spirit decides how spiritual gifts are distributed. He gives gifts to believers according to His own will.

He also directs and instructs people. (Acts 13:2)
The Holy Spirit specifically called and sent out Barnabas and Saul for ministry.

c) The Holy Spirit Has Emotions (Ephesians 4:30)
The Bible tells believers not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Only a person can be grieved, showing that the Holy Spirit has emotions.

2. The Holy Spirit Performs Personal Actions
The Holy Spirit does things that only a person can do.

a) He Speaks (John 14:26)
He teaches believers and reminds them of God's truth.

b) He Bears Witness (Romans 8:16)
He testifies that we are children of God.

c) He Intercedes (Romans 8:26)
He helps believers in prayer and intercedes for us when we do not know what to pray for.

d) He Directs and Sends People (Acts 13:2)
He gives instructions and appoints people for God's work.

3. The Holy Spirit Is God
The Holy Spirit is not separate from God; He is God Himself. (Acts 5:3–4)
When Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit, Peter said he had lied to God, proving that the Holy Spirit is God.
Genesis 1:1–2
The Spirit of God was present and active at creation.

Conclusion
The Holy Spirit is not a force, energy, or influence. He is a divine Person and an essential member of the Trinity.

THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH NIGERIA, ABASI OKURE DISTRICT

DISTRICT WITNESS RALLY HELD @ THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH, OYO ITA ASSEMBLY (7TH JUNE, 2026).

THE WORD

Speaker: Pst. B. N. Effiom
Theme: "Reflecting Christ"
Text: Isaiah 43:10, Matt. 5:16

Reflecting Christ means living in a way that shows the character, love, and teachings of Jesus Christ through your words, actions, and attitude.

A witness is not someone who speaks about Christ occasionally. A witness's life has to speak Christ without saying it because God has commanded us to live a worthy life.
We need to reflect Christ in our daily lives, works and activities because people are watching and reading us as epistles. Your character and lifestyles will show credibility to your message.

A True witness imparts the following;
1. Holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16)
2. Integrity (2nd Corinthians 3:2)
3. True (Agape) love (John 13:35)
4. Boldness (Acts 4:20)

A compromised lifestyle weakens your witness, their works should walk in accordance with their word and reflect Christ because it can draw a sinner closer to God or drive them farther away.

In conclusion, reflecting Christ is not just about what we say but how we live. When we show love, humility, forgiveness, compassion, and obedience to God, we become a visible example of Christ to others. Through our daily lives, people should be able to see the light of Christ shining through us.

Speaker: Pst. B. O. Ntiero Effiom
Translator: Deac. Braha Okon
Topic: The Covenant that Endures
Text: Colossians 1:13
Bible Ref(s). : Eccl. 4:10, Matt. 9.

A marriage covenant is the idea that marriage isn't just a contract but a scared binding agreement arranged by God .

One flesh do not mean we will think the same way rather it means that we will work as a team, oneness requires an intentional effort , forgiving one another, enduring one another.

Sometimes the strongest words in a marriage is not I LOVE YOU rather is I'M SORRY. Walking away or saying I am tried is not an option to make in a marriage rather work as a team to succeed. The union is not only the husband and wife but consist of husband, wife and God . As couples praying together, communicate with each other as working together will grow a stronger bond

In conclusion Love is patient caring, love is kind . It's feels most when it's genuine. A marriage covenant is a lifelong, exclusive, public vow of faithful love between two people, meant to reflect God’s own faithful love.

WORD CHARGE

Speaker: Eld. W. Iwara
Topic: Develop Capacity
Text: 1 Timothy 4:12–16; 1 Samuel 17:33, 42

The message encouraged youths to develop themselves spiritually, mentally, and morally for God’s purpose. Timothy was advised not to allow his youthfulness to limit him, but to grow in faith, character, and knowledge.
Also, David was underestimated because of his age and appearance, yet his preparation, courage, and trust in God gave him victory over Goliath.

The youths were encouraged not to despise small beginnings but to build their capacity through prayer, learning, discipline, and service, knowing that God uses prepared people.
