On Thursday, 23rd July 2026, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Agoi-Ekpo, in the Yakurr/Abi Group of the Cross River Conference, marked a significant milestone with the laying of the foundation for its church building.

Leading the ceremony was the President of the Cross River Conference, Pastor Nation Amadi Nation, who emphasized that the occasion was far more than the laying of bricks and mortar. He described it as the establishment of a foundation of faith, hope, and love

Joining the Conference President were the Executive Secretary, Pastor Bassey Adam, and the Conference Treasurer, Sis. Ruth Lekam, whose presence underscored the Conference’s support for the growing congregation.

The Group Leader, Pastor Uche James, alongside the associate, Pastor Stanley Sunday, expressed profound joy and gratitude to God, describing the occasion as the fulfillment of long-awaited prayers and a remarkable milestone in the history of the church.

The ceremony reached a glorious climax with the baptism of eight precious souls, reflecting that while a physical foundation was being laid, God was also building His spiritual kingdom.

Church members, neighbours, and the manual labourers present witnessed both the foundation-laying and the baptism, making the day a powerful testimony of faith in action.

As this new sanctuary begins to take shape, may it stand as a beacon of hope, a place where lives are transformed, and where generations will gather to worship the Lord. May this house of worship and its worshippers continue to rise in strength, filled with God’s presence and glory.

To God be all the glory!
