EXHORTATION
SPEAKER: Elder Orok Emmanuel
INTERPRETER: Deacon Promise Lawrence Ikpe
TOPIC: “BEING ROOTED IN CHRIST”
TEXT: Colossians 2:8
INTRODUCTION: When we talk about being rooted in Christ, it is very different from being in Christ. This means that Christ is in you and you can boast of him.
Apostle Paul used agriculture to explain that if a tree is deeply rooted, it will sway in the wind but won’t be taken out. Same is applicable to us, if we are deeply rooted in Christ, we won’t be moved by trials.
ARE YOU IN CHRIST?
Not everyone who calls on Christ is rooted in him. When pride, temptations, tribulations, comes our way, we shall fall if we aren’t tooted in christ.
BENEFITS OF BEING ROOTED IN CHRIST
• Stability
• Continuous nourishment
• Joy
• Fruitfulness
• Peace (John 14:27)
• Assurance of salvation
• Spiritual growth (Ephesians 3:17-19)
CONCLUSION: Let us take Christ home. There’s nothing more beautiful than having Christ. If you aren’t rooted in Christ, you are wasting your time because when he comes, he shall only see those who were rooted in him. Let go of the world and strengthen your foundation in Christ.
