You can wait forever for a 'miracle', because it happens at God's discretion.

What if there's a legitimate action you can take to achieve that same thing, and God is not saying 'no' to it.

Should you still continue to wait?

Many are simply lazy to take action, and hide under prayer as a cover-up for their laziness.

This morning, as I read Matthew chapter 3 again, my heart broke at the contrast between the spirit of true kingdom ministry in Scripture and what we often celebrate today in church culture.

John the Baptist was older than Jesus in physical age, yet when Jesus came to him for baptism, John trembled in humility:
“I have need to be baptised of thee, and comest thou to me?” (Matthew 3:14)

John understood something many ministers today have forgotten:
👉 Age is not superiority.
👉 First start is not ownership.
👉 Ministry is not competition.

He recognised the higher grace and assignment upon Jesus and bowed his heart accordingly.

And Jesus Himself, though He was the Son of God, the eternal Word, the One through whom all things were made, still walked humbly to John to be baptised; no pride, no superiority complex, no struggle for recognition.

What a generation we have become today!

A generation where titles are now longer than testimonies.
Where paraphernalia of office has replaced brokenness of spirit.
Where some ministers want to be escorted, announced, worshipped, and feared like earthly monarchs.

But Jesus said:
“He that is greatest among you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11)

John did not market himself with intimidating presentations of himself. When asked who he was, he simply said: “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness...” (John 1:23)

Not “The Global Senior Prophet.”
Not “The Most Reverend Apostle.”
Just a voice: invisible, intangible, a mere instrument pointing men to Christ.

But today, many voices no longer point to Christ. They point to themselves.

The tragedy of our generation is that some ministers now build personality empires instead of revealing Jesus.

Even Jesus washed the feet of His disciples (John 13:14–15). The King of glory handled towels, not thrones. Yet today, some who claim to serve Christ cannot even carry their own Bible without protocol officers surrounding them.

Brethren, we have drifted!

The kingdom was never designed to be a theatre of power display and ecclesiastical arrogance. Ministry is service. Ministry is sacrifice. Ministry is dying daily.

John said: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

That sentence alone has become too painful for many modern hearts to pray sincerely.

May God deliver this generation from pride wrapped in church garments.

May He raise servants again, not celebrities.
Shepherds again, not performers.
Men who fear God more than they enjoy applause.

The Church does not need more crowns on men’s heads. It needs more broken knees before the cross.

Nobody becomes a doctor simply because they have spent many years around a hospital environment. Nobody becomes a lawyer because they have worked around a courtroom for years. In the same way, remaining long in church activities as a 'minister' or 'worker' alone does not automatically make a man fit to shepherd souls.

One of the things that deeply concerns me in today’s Pentecostal movement is how casually the pastoral office is sometimes handled.

Church parishes are multiplying rapidly, and in many cases, almost anybody who has “been around church for long enough” can suddenly be made a pastor.

But sincerely, brethren, should the work of God be treated this way?

The pastoral office is not merely a title. It is a sacred trust.

Hebrews 5:4 says:
“And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but HE THAT IS CALLED OF GOD, as was Aaron.”

Paul told Timothy:
“STUDY to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Notice, he did not say:
“Stay long enough in church to become approved.”

A pastor must be:
- called by God,
- sound in doctrine,
- spiritually mature,
- disciplined in character,
- and trained enough to rightly divide the Word of truth.

Some are called to the market place according to their various professions, they should not be forced or be enticed to take on pulpits, except for those who obviously carry the dual grace. And it must have been seen and undoubtedly proven before they are sent to pastor churches.

This is why Paul listed clear qualifications for spiritual leadership in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9. God did not leave ministry leadership to sentiment, popularity, longevity, or mere loyalty to denomination.

Sadly today, some are sent to lead congregations when they have not yet conquered basic issues of doctrine, discipline, integrity, emotional maturity, or even personal devotion.

And when unprepared men lead God’s people, confusion multiplies in the Church. And that is what we see almost everywhere today.

Brethren, zeal is good, loyalty is good, years of service are commendable, but ministry requires more than activity around church environments.

Souls are too precious to be handled carelessly.

A pastor is not merely a branch manager. He is a shepherd of eternal souls.

May God raise men who are not only available, but also called, trained, broken, sound, and trustworthy in handling His work.

The Church deserves shepherds, not just occupants of pulpits.
