APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE MESSAGE.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

I sincerely extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire people of this ward for your support, prayers, and the love you showed me throughout the campaign period up to Election Day.

Although we did not emerge victorious in the election, I consider this journey a great learning experience and, in many ways, a success — especially in terms of unity, mutual understanding, and the strengthened bonds we built together. The number of people who came out to support me proves that there are still individuals in this ward who are committed to progress and justice.

I am deeply grateful to the youths, elders, women, community leaders, and everyone who contributed their time, energy, and resources toward this cause. Your sacrifice and dedication will never be forgotten.

This is not the end of the journey. The progress and development of our community remain my priority, and I will continue to stand with you, listen to your concerns, and contribute in every way I can.

May Allah reward you abundantly, unite us, and grant our community lasting progress.

Thank you very much.
May Allah bless our community.

“Northerners Are Not Civilised.”

That phrase is often repeated with a tone of contempt: “Northerners are not civilised.”
But the real question is, who is actually displaying a lack of civilisation ?

When people are killed daily in villages and towns, when women and children are abducted, when homes are burned, and yet there is no strong, sustained outcry from those in positions of influence, shouldn’t that trouble us?

In many parts of Northern Nigeria, communities live in constant fear. Attacks come without warning. Farmers cannot safely go to their fields. Women are afraid to go to the market. Children fear going to school. But what unsettles me most is the silence,
silence from leaders, silence from influential voices, and sometimes silence from within the community itself.

Civilisation is not about clothing or accent. It is about:

Protecting human life.
Standing firmly for truth.
Rejecting injustice.
Taking action when human rights are violated.

If people are being killed without accountability and there is no effective system to seek justice, then the problem is not regional, it is structural. It is a failure of governance. It is the fear of speaking truth to power.

Northerners are not ignorant. They are not uncivilised. But there is an urgent need for:

Stronger unity.
Courage to demand justice.
Holding leaders accountable.
Refusing to remain silent while lives are lost.

Silence in the face of injustice is not wisdom. Often, it becomes quiet acceptance of what should never be accepted.

It is time to reject unfair labels and instead focus on addressing insecurity, poverty, and systemic injustice that continue to weaken the region.

Civilisation begins when people rise to defend life and dignity.

So when someone says, “Northerners are not civilised,” the question we must ask ourselves is:

Are we allowing things to happen without raising our voices?
Or will we stand up and show that our lives, and our dignity are not negotiable ?

My vote

17/02/2026

My dear brothers, sisters, elders, and youths of our ward,

I greet you all with respect and gratitude.

I stand before you today, not as someone above you, but as one of you. I understand our struggles, our hopes, and our dreams. I know the condition of our roads. I know the challenges our youths face. I know the worries of our mothers and the concerns of our elders.

I am here because I believe our ward deserves better representation, better attention, and better results.

The position of councillor is not for decoration. It is a position of responsibility. It is a position to speak for the people, to defend the people, and to bring development closer to the grassroots.

If you give me your trust and your vote, I promise you these things:

I will be your voice in the council. I will not remain silent when our ward is ignored. I will speak, I will follow up, and I will ensure our needs are heard.

I will work to improve our infrastructure. Our roads, drainage, streetlights, and sanitation must improve. These are not luxuries—they are necessities for safe and decent living.

I will support our youths. Our young people need opportunities, skills, and encouragement. I will advocate for skill acquisition programs, empowerment initiatives, and opportunities that can help them build a better future.

I will support our women, who are the backbone of our homes and our community. Their voices will be heard, and their needs will be represented.

I will promote unity and peace in our ward. We are stronger when we stand together, regardless of tribe, religion, or background.

Most importantly, I will remain accessible to you. I will not disappear after the election. I will meet with you. I will listen to you. I will work with you.

This campaign is not about me. It is about us. It is about the future of our ward. It is about building a community we can all be proud of.

Leadership is not about making promises. It is about keeping them.

I ask for your support. I ask for your trust. I ask for your vote.

Together, we can move our ward forward.

Thank you, and may God bless you all.

“Igbo Must Go” is not a protest. It is not activism. It is hate.

Northerners are calling for the expulsion of the Igbo from northern Nigeria because of what happened yesterday in Rivers State.

It is a direct attack on the rights, dignity, and humanity of millions of innocent people whose only “crime” is their identity. The Igbo are not strangers. They are citizens. They built businesses, created jobs, strengthened economies, and contributed to every corner of Nigeria.

You cannot claim to want peace while promoting exclusion. You cannot claim justice while demanding that an entire people disappear. That is not justice it is discrimination.

Words like this are dangerous. History has shown that hateful slogans are often the first step toward violence, chaos, and national shame. When you normalize hate, you normalize suffering.

Nigeria does not belong to one tribe. It belongs to all.

If one group can be told to “go” today, another group will be told to “go” tomorrow. Hate is a fire it never stops with one target. We must reject this message completely, loudly, and without apology. No citizen is a guest in their own country.

“Aboki Must Go” Is a Dangerous Precedent.

What happened in Rivers State is not a random outburst of anger. It reflects a deeper and more troubling pattern years of rhetoric, stereotypes, and political narratives that have steadily painted northerners, especially Hausa Muslims, as permanent suspects in the south. The protest that erupted was not framed around a demand for justice against a proven criminal.

It quickly shifted into something broader and more alarming: a rejection of a people based on identity. The alleged kill!ng of Festus Nchelem became the spark, but the response went far beyond seeking accountability. It became collective blame.

The suspect was labeled “Aboki.” Why? Because he was riding a motorcycle. As if northerners are the only ones who ride okada. No confirmed identity. No verified evidence. Just assumption, reinforced by years of conditioning that associates a certain look, language, or dress with criminality.

When leadership responds to such tension by directing an entire ethnic group to leave a local government area, it crosses from crisis management into constitutional violation. Banning Hausawa from operating okada, ordering herders out of forests and farmlands, and calling on “all northerners” to vacate is not security policy, it is collective punishment.

And collective punishment has consequences. Nigeria’s Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to reside and conduct lawful business anywhere in the federation. That principle is not optional, it is the glue that holds a fragile, diverse nation together.

If one region begins expelling people because some individuals allegedly committed crimes, what stops another region from doing the same? What happens when northerners decide to react in kind? What happens when suspicion replaces evidence everywhere?

We must be careful with the logic of retaliation.

Yes, there have been clashes involving herders in parts of the south. Yes, criminality exists across regions. But crime in Nigeria is not ethnic. It is not tribal. It is not religious. Criminality is individual. Once we begin attaching it to identity, we abandon justice for prejudice.

The most dangerous aspect of this moment is normalization. When leaders make sweeping statements in the heat of public pressure and face no consequences, it sets a precedent. Tomorrow, another community elsewhere may decide that “this group must go.” And another.

A nation cannot survive on selective belonging.

Across northern villages, southerners live, trade, marry, and thrive. Across southern communities, northerners do the same. This quiet coexistence rarely makes headlines, but it is the true face of Nigeria.

What destroys that coexistence is not diversity it is the politics of fear.

The path forward requires courage from leaders: to calm tensions, to insist on due process, and to reject collective blame even when emotions are high. It requires media responsibility, resisting the temptation to amplify stereotypes. And it requires citizens who refuse to be manipulated into seeing neighbors as enemies.

If we fail to confront incidents like this firmly and fairly, we risk creating a chain reaction that none of us will be able to control.

Nigeria’s strength lies in its plurality. Once we begin deciding who belongs and who does not, we begin dismantling the very foundation of the republic.
