JOHN WESLEY REMEMBRANCE DAY

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, experienced a life-changing conversion on May 24, 1738, in London.

Although he had already been a priest in the Church of England and was deeply religious, Wesley often struggled with doubts about his personal salvation and faith in God.

During a meeting on Aldersgate Street, while listening to someone read from Martin Luther’s preface to the Book of Romans, Wesley felt what he later described as his “HEART STRANGELY WARMED.” At that moment, he gained a strong ASSURANCE that CHRIST had forgiven his sins and SAVED him.

This conversion became a turning point in Wesley’s life and ministry. After the Aldersgate experience, he began preaching with RENEWED passion about salvation by faith, holiness, and the love of God.

John Wesley messages inspired many people across England and beyond, leading to the rise of the Methodist movement.

Wesley’s conversion remains a significant event in Christian history because it emphasized personal faith, spiritual renewal, and a living relationship with God.

As Methodist Church across the globe celebrate our founder's day today, we are inviting you to join us in our various local churches close to you and hear more about the man John Wesley.

You can also join us at Wesley Methodist Cathedral Bori

Last week, The Revd , a Methodist Minister stationed at MCN Ogale Pipeline, Eleme Circuit, Port Harcourt Diocese, visited a private secondary school to share the Gospel of Christ with the students.
While ministering and sharing the word of knowledge, he encountered three young brothers who sang beautifully with exceptional voices.

Through the help of the Holy Spirit, he noticed that they were the only students without school uniforms. Further inquiries revealed that they were struggling financially, owing school fees, and trekking long distances to school every day.

Moved with compassion and guided by the understanding of time and season, The Revd Wesley Amadi decided to take action. He immediately placed the first child on scholarship and provided school uniforms for the other two brothers.

By the grace of God, his efforts did not stop there. Through further support and sacrifice, all three brothers are now on scholarship, including their younger sister who had previously dropped out of school.

This is true Evangelism. This is one of the ways to win souls for Christ; showing love, compassion, and practical care to humanity.

Through acts like this, the Church of Christ will continue to grow, move forward, and truly, the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Revd Wesley Amadi, God is surely with you, and He will continue to bless and strengthen you for His work.

Worthy is the Lamb… Hallelujah!
