*THURSDAY 9TH APRIL, 2026*

*TOPIC: FAITH OR FE**SH*

*FURTHER READING*
2 KINGS 2:19–22

*KEY VERSE:*
"That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and
carried about with every wind of doctrine," (Ephesians 4:14, NKJV).

*ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*
1 SAMUEL 4–8

*COMMENTARY*
Juliana was desperate for healing. One day, she stumbled upon a message on YouTube saying, "Put your name in salt water and pray with it, and God will heal you." She followed the instructions and prayed fervently day after day. But as the weeks passed, nothing happened, and her faith began to sink. She started asking, β€œDid I use the right kind of salt?" *Did I use enough?" Maybe I need to add oil or do it under moonlight." One day, her pastor visited and found her doing the ritual. He lovingly asked her: Are you trusting the symbol or the Saviour?" The question cut deep, and that was the turning point. It is possible to be carried away by every wind of doctrine.

As Christians, we must discern the spirit behind symbols. The miracle in 2 Kings 2:21 wasn't the salt; it was the Word of the Lord. Speak the Word to your situation.

In Acts 19:19, believers burned their scrolls because they recognized that God doesn't need human formulas to move. Let's return to the simplicity of faith.

God may use symbols, but He never lets the symbol replace the Saviour. Our breakthroughs are not in salt, oil, or paper, but in submission, obedience, and relationship. Child of God, you are the salt of the earth.

*CONTROLLING THOUGHTS*
Fe**sh is when the object is believed to contain power. Faith is when we know that power belongs to God alone.

*PRAYER*
LORD, help me not to trust in the symbol rather than the Saviour, in the Name of Jesus Christ Amen!

*TOPIC: FORGIVENESS*

πŸ“– *FURTHER READING*
MATTHEW 5:23–24; MARK 11:25

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (Colossians 3:13, NIV)

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*
1 SAMUEL 1–3

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Forgiveness is a cornerstone of Christian living and biblical teaching. Forgiveness involves God's forgiveness of our sins and the mandate for individuals to forgive others. Therefore, forgiveness is an essential element of spiritual health and relationships. As believers, we must forgive others who offend us.

Christians should practice forgiveness in their relationships with others (Genesis 50:15-21). After the death of Jacob, Joseph's brothers fear retribution for selling him into slavery, but Joseph reassures them, saying, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

As you go out today, be reminded that God has forgiven us all our sins, and it is important to forgive others (Ephesians 4:32). We should always remember that forgiveness must be persistent upon repentance. In Luke 17:3-4, the bible says "If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times a day and seven times come back to you saying 'I repent, you must forgive them." Believers therefore must bear in mind that forgiving others is a condition for receiving God's forgiveness.

*TOPIC: LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU*

πŸ“– *FURTHER READING*
PHILIPPIANS 2:1–11

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5).

πŸ“œ *ONE YEAR BIBLE STUDY PLAN*
RUTH 1–4

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
There's a mindset the world values one that seeks personal advancement, recognition, and power. But Paul points us to a far different example. He urges us to adopt the same attitude Christ had: humility, servant hood, and obedience.

Jesus, though equal with God, chose not to cling to His status. Instead, He emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, and became obedient to the point of death on a cross. This was not weakness–it was powerful submission rooted in love.

To let this mind be in you" is not just to admire Jesus' humility, but to actively pursue it. It means setting aside our own desires, rights, and reputations in order to love and serve others. It's choosing God's will over our own, just as Jesus did in Gethsemane.

In a world desperate for status and self-promotion, Christ calls us to a better way. And when we choose the mind of Christ, we become reflections of His grace to a watching world. This kind of mindset cannot be produced by willpower alone. It comes as we walk with the Holy Spirit, daily yielding to His work in us. The more we behold Christ,
the more we become like Him (2 Corinthians 3:18).

🎚 *CONTROLLING THOUGHTS*
The mind of Christ is not only possible, it is the pattern we are called to follow. In humility, there is strength. In obedience, there is victory

πŸ™πŸΏ *PRAYER*
Father, help me walk in humility, love and obedience today, in the Name of Jesus Christ Amen!

πŸ”‘ *KEY VERSE:*

JUDGES 19–21

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY* Yesterday, Christians everywhere celebrated the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Our hearts resonated with every sermon, song and presentation that portrays His victory over death.

The holidays will soon be over, and we shall go back to facing the pressures of everyday life. But the risen Savior may not seem nearly as close today, and little may seem to have changed. We are still faced with that lingering disease, that broken
relationship, those financial problems, or those hardships that come with growing older. We hear about poverty and persecution, about war and conflict in so many countries, and we might ask, "Has Easter really made a difference? Has anything changed in the past 2,000 years since Jesus' resurrection? Are things any better in the 21st century than they were in the first century?"

Though nations, technology, and social institutions have changed a lot since then, the human condition is much the same. God's image bearers are still addicted to sin. Jesus warned his followers, "In this world you will have trouble." But because he has overcome the world, we can have new life in Him and peace in spite of our struggles. We can strive to enact God's restoration in our daily lives. We can share his love with others and look forward together to the day when the risen Savior will return!

🎚 *CONTROLLING THOUGHTS*
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.

πŸ™πŸΏ *PRAYER*
LORD Jesus, help us to trust that You have overcome the world and will come again, making all things new. Amen!
