The Cost of Doing the will of God
If you want to do the will of God, you have to first break your will for His will.
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself.
When you understand the mystery of God's will, he gives you revelation. Doing the will of God starts by bearing our cross and counting the cost to follow him. Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it?
Until your will is destroyed, you can't gain his divine will. Gaining entrance to heaven demands surrendering our will to him. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
No Christian can go far in life and ministry except they submerge their will to God's will. We can only build a solid relationship with him by doing his will. Mark 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
Our will need to be totally surrendered to Him. When you start doing God's will, you forget your self worth and allow him to use you as a vessel. Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
When we obey his will, we then allow Him to decide everything, we can only go where he wants us to go, we can only do what he wants us to do; our will is totally lost in him - Luke 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
The centre of God's will is for our safety, pray that you may always know it. The worthiness of God's is in our daily thanks to him as we live to please him. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
When you start doing the will of God, you won't dispute about his plans. He expect us to be separated from the world and its attributes Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Doing God's will is beyond mere confession and boasting. You need to pray for God to teach you to do his will. Psalms 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Remember, we're sent to earth to do his will, therefore, doing his will should be our daily meal John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
When you become born again, you then learn to live in God's will - 1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
We can only abide in him forever when we do his will - 1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
