📜📜 LUKE 6:35-38 📜📜

🕔📚🖋️🚻😁🎼🏆🍉🪴🌈💻

🔑📖 Key Verse: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again" (Luke 6:38).

📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖

Tim, a ten-year-old boy asked his father what Jesus meant in Luke 6:38. In answer to his question, his father invited him to play a game of "Giving and Receiving" with him. So, he took Tim to the dining table. Placing a bowl of fried rice on the table, he told Tim to serve with his small "teaspoon", twenty spoonsful of fried rice into his father's dinner plate.

While, using his own bigger tablespoon, his father served twenty spoonsful of fried rice into Tim's plate in return. At the end of the game, Tim had more fried rice on his dinner plate than his father's. Whatever you give, said his father, will come back to you in multiple folds.

What Jesus taught in Luke 6:35-38 is that whatever anyone gives to God or fellow human beings will surely return to him or her in multiple folds. If you love to judge, criticize or refuse to help or show kindness to others, you will receive the same in multiple folds. But if you love, care for, help and pray for others, you will receive the same in multiple folds.

Greater than that, there is nothing that you have that was not given to you by God. Therefore, He expects you to give back to Him in appreciation of all that He has done, is still doing and will still do in your life. When you willingly, joyfully, faithfully and bountifully give anything to God, beginning with your heart, then your time, tithe, talents and thanksgiving, He will give you multiple folds of His blessings in return.

GRACE 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️✝️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽

📜📜TEXT: GENESIS 39:1-6📜📜

📖 MEMORY VERSE: "And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand" (GENESIS 39:4).

Grace is God's undeserved favour, love and mercy toward humanity. It is a fundamental concept in our Christian faith. Grace is something that is freely given. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).

This benevolent act of God was bestowed on Joseph in the house of Potiphar, his master; and the Lord made all that he did to prosper. Joseph had a special place with God who had given him a dream of greatness. He experienced his worst nightmares in the hands of his cruel and envious brothers but found grace in the sight of God and Potiphar.

When a person finds grace, divine help, support and riches are made available to fulfil kingdom purpose. "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD" (Genesis 6:8). God's grace brings benefits such as salvation, unmerited favours, His presence and power. Like Joseph, may you find grace to help you in your time of need. Pray for your prison doors to open today.

💬 QUOTE: God's grace brings benefits.

🏆 CHALLENGE: Without the grace of God, you can do nothing.

🙏🏽🙏🏽 PRAYER: Oh God! Grant me grace to run the race and finish well.

📜📜TEXT: HOSEA 2:9-15📜📜

🔑📖 KEY VERSE: "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her" (HOSEA 2:14).

There is an interesting story of a medieval monk who gave special invitation for a Sunday evening special service with the theme: "The Love of God." On the special day, as the shadows fell and light ceased to come in through the cathedral windows, the monk lit a candle and carried it to the crucifix on the altar. First, he illuminated the crown of thorns, next, the two wounded hands, then the marks of the spear wound. As expected, total silence and secret sobs pervaded the atmosphere at which time the monk blew out the candle and left the congregation to ponder on what they had just watched.

God, in our passage, declared His disgust at the lifestyle of His chosen people. He was appalled at how easily they rejected Him. He will punish their disobedience unfailingly without a way of escape. But in the midst of this horrific foreboding, God showed up in His brightness, and in His merciful uniqueness. All the gloom, the threat of punishment and indignation suddenly gave way to the merciful disposition of a God not wanting any to perish. The radiancy of God's love shone through the cloudy pillars of the Almighty's indignation. "I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her."

Our God is merciful. His love is unfathomable. His ways are past finding out. His dealings with His people are not cruel; but like a nursing father, God is ever willing to pardon His erring but repentant children after correcting them. The power of God's love and mercy overcomes all judgment and indignation. This is conditioned on returning to Him with a humble heart. No wonder, Prophet Jeremiah exclaimed, "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee" (Jeremiah 31:3).

God uses every means possible today to attract penitent sinners to Himself. He runs after them even in the wilderness of life. He pursues the disobedient, the hardened of heart, to bring them back home. He speaks with a gentle, calming voice, to encourage lost souls back to the path of rectitude. His love is both surprising as it is irresistible. Oh that you will listen to His voice today, and respond to His invitation. He's waiting at the door, saying, whosoever will, may come.

✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Father's love is an encouragement to the returning prodigals.

📜📜TEXT: MARK 12:41-44📜📜

📖 MEMORY VERSE: "And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury" (MARK 12:43).

Our Bible text of today provides profound lessons on sacrificial giving, faith, and God's perspective on giving. In God's kingdom, the value of a gift or offering is determined by the state of our hearts and not by the size of the gift. The widow's act is an encouragement to those who may have only little to offer.

In God's eyes, your little gift or service may be of more value than offerings by the rich. The poor widow was selfless. She put her needs aside and did God's will first. However, we should not think that there are no wealthy brethren who give cheerfully and sacrificially.

Robert G. Le Tourneau was a devout Christian and a prominent manufacturer of heavy earth moving equipment in the USA. His company built 70% of such machineries used by the Allies during the Second World War. Instead of giving 10% of his enormous income to God, he gave 90%.

Christendom is blessed with sacrificial givers. Always give your best to the Master. Let us embrace the attitude of sacrificial giving that Jesus espoused.

💬 QUOTE: Give your best to the Master.

🏆 CHALLENGE: What type of gift do you give to God?

🙏🏽🙏🏽 PRAYER: Help me oh God, to lay all on the altar.

📜📜 MICAH 7:11-13 📜📜

🕔📚🖋️🚻😁🎼🏆🍉🪴🌈💻

🔑📖 Key Verse: "Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings" (Micah 7:13).

📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖

Whenever we hear fruits, we always think of trees. Trees bear fruits depending on the season. That means the fruits of a particular tree may not always be available to eat. But we, humans, bear fruits every moment and every day.

The consequences of our thoughts and activities are the fruits of our doings. The fruits of our actions are either good or bad, godly or devilish, rewardable or punishable by God. Our text speaks in support of this. Israel, perhaps, did not at first realize the consequences of disobeying God's commandments.

The children of Israel ignored God's call to repent from their bad doings for a long time, but the fruits of their doings were bitterness and regret. The fruits or the reward for their sin was that their land became desolate (deserted) and their lives miserable. They became slaves ruled by their enemies and lived as strangers in their own land.

Everyone reaps the reward of his or her actions. The pleasure of wrong doings may last for a while, but the punishment is by the corner. Pray today and turn away from your bad doings. Do not allow iniquity to ruin you.

🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥

🅿️rayer: Lord, be merciful to me, and forgive all my bad doings. Help me to do what is right before You always. 🙏🏽
