TOPIC : THE HUMAN HEART
*The heart, stomach, lungs etc are vital organs in the body and it's very important to take good care of them.
* The human heart pumps approximately 5 to 6 litres of blood per minute at rest. This volume, known as cardiac output, is sufficient to circulate the entire blood volume of a typical adult throughout the body in roughly one minute.
WAYS TO ADOPT A HEART -HEALTHY DIET.
1.Eat Nutrient-Dense Foods: Focus on whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, and lean proteins (fish, poultry).
Reduce Sodium and Sugar: Limit salt intake to lower blood pressure and avoid sugary beverages to manage blood sugar, which helps prevent diabetes.
Limit Saturated and Trans Fats: Avoid processed foods, fried fast food, and fatty red meats to manage cholesterol levels.
Opt for Healthy Fats: Use olive oil, avocados, and nuts (walnuts, almonds) to provide heart-healthy fats.
Try Specific Diets: The Mediterranean or DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diets are strongly recommended.
2. Increase Physical Activity
Daily Movement: Aim for at least 30β60 minutes of moderate-intensity activity, such as brisk walking, daily.
Weekly Goal: The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week.
Strength Training: Incorporate at least two strength training sessions per week.
Reduce Sedentary Time: Take breaks from sitting; even five minutes of movement can help.
3. Maintain a Healthy Weight
Manage Body Mass Index (BMI): A BMI of 25 or higher is considered overweight and increases heart disease risk.
Target Belly Fat: Extra weight around the midsection is particularly risky for heart disease.
Small Losses Help: Reducing weight by just 3% to 5% can lower triglycerides and blood sugar.
