Trusting in God's Provision

Scripture Reference:
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." – Philippians 4:19

When challenges arise, remember that God is your partner in this entrepreneurial journey.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my provider. Help me to trust in Your provision and not be anxious about the uncertainties in my business. Guide my steps and grant me wisdom in my entrepreneurial endeavors. Amen.

Action Point:

Sermon: The Deception of Materialism and Miracles
Written by Elder Pearls Adeyemi, Founder, Gospel of Christ for Entrepreneurs

Introduction: Beloved, today we are called to address a grave concern infiltrating the Church. Many modern churches have centered their messages on materialism and miracles, leading believers astray. While they may seem harmless and even effective, granting answers to prayers, these churches act as agents of Satan. Their deceptive teachings align with the third temptation of Satan in the wilderness. Let us delve into this critical issue, guided by the Holy Scriptures.

1. The Third Temptation of Christ: In the Gospel of Matthew 4:8-10, we read about the third temptation of Jesus: “Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, ‘All these I will give You, if You will fall down and worship me.’ Then Jesus said to him, ‘Be gone, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.’” Here, Satan tempted Jesus with worldly riches and power. Today, many churches preach a similar message, offering the kingdom of material wealth in exchange for subtle allegiance to the world's ways, deviating from the worship of God alone.

2. The Danger of Materialism Materialism has become a false gospel in many churches today. The promise of wealth, prosperity, and success is dangled before congregants as the ultimate blessing of God. However, Scripture warns us against such deceitful desires. In 1 Timothy 6:9-10, Paul writes: “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”

Sermon: Guarding Our Hearts in Perilous Times – The Dangers of Ungodly Content

Introduction:
In these perilous times, we must be vigilant. Satan, the deceiver, is cunning in his ways and seeks to distract and defile the minds of believers. One of the new tricks he employs is the use of seemingly harmless comedy skits that promote ungodly content. These skits often trivialize sin, glorify immorality, and subtly introduce demonic influences.

As Christians, we must recognize the impact of these distractions and guard our hearts and minds. Let us turn to the Word of God for enlightenment and direction.

Scripture Reading:
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy..." (2 Timothy 3:1-2).

1. Recognizing the Subtlety of Sinful Content
Satan often disguises sin in attractive packages. Comedy is one such tool, designed to lower our guard and make ungodly behavior seem acceptable or humorous.

2 Corinthians 11:14 reminds us: "And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms into an angel of light."

Ungodly skits can desensitize us to sin, making us laugh at things that grieve God, such as blasphemy, immorality, and the distortion of Biblical truths.

2. Guarding Your Heart and Mind
The heart is the wellspring of life. We must protect it from contamination.

Proverbs 4:23: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

The media we consume shapes our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Philippians 4:8 instructs us to focus on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.

3. The Consequences of Ungodly Entertainment
Exposure to ungodly content leads to spiritual pollution and can open doors for the enemy.

Ephesians 5:11: "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them."

Continual exposure normalizes sinful behavior, erodes conviction,

Avoid Churches that Focus on Miracles as Their Core Message
Written by Elder Pearls Adeyemi, Founder, Church of Entrepreneurs (Flaming Sword)

It is crucial to steer clear of churches whose primary focus is on miracles. Such teachings can be a subtle ploy of the enemy, using the allure of miracles for personal needs to lead many astray. Miracles, while significant, are not the central message of the gospel. Receiving miracles from God does not equate to salvation.

Scriptural Insight:
The first temptation of Jesus Christ in the wilderness revolved around performing a miracle for a material need. Satan said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread” (Matthew 4:3). Jesus responded, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’” (Matthew 4:4). This teaches us that reliance on God’s Word is far more critical than seeking temporary solutions to earthly needs.

Jesus declined that miracle, illustrating that miracles are not proof of God’s presence or endorsement of those who claim to belong to Him. The true measure of faith is not in the miracles we see but in our obedience to God’s Word.

In Matthew 7:22-23, Jesus warns: “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” This clearly shows that performing miracles is not synonymous with having a genuine relationship with Christ.

A Call to Discernment:
We are living in perilous times, described in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Many are being deceived by teachings that prioritize signs and wonders over truth. Paul cautions believers to avoid those who have “a form of godliness but deny its power” (2 Timothy 3:5).

Brethren, it is time to examine your church and your faith. Do not blindly defend what you do not understand. Instead, invest in building a p
