Congratulations to Revd Dr Abbas

Today, Friday, 1 May 2026, we are pleased to announce that *Rev. Dr. Jonathan A. Abass* has assumed office as the 3rd substantive University Chaplain of our great institution.

Jonathan Abass, who joins us from the Baptist Theological Seminary, Kawo, Kaduna, is a seasoned teacher, devoted preacher, and gifted music minister, whose years of faithful and impactful service in the vineyard of Christ have touched lives and strengthened the body of believers.

His depth in the Word, passion for discipleship, and commitment to raising godly people position him uniquely for this sacred responsibility within our university community.

As he begins this new assignment, we pray that the hand of the Lord will be mightily evident in Bowen through his ministry. May lives be transformed, hearts drawn closer to God, and may many come into a deeper knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We pray that God will grant him wisdom, strength, and grace for the task ahead, and that his ministry will flourish abundantly, in Jesus' name.

We also commit his family into God’s hands, that in their time in Bowen, they'll experience peace, & joy, and move from grace to greater grace, in Jesus’ name.

Great News...

Today 14th April 2026, history was made as Rev Dr Samuel Olugbenga Akintola (the Rector) and Rev Emmanuel John Ehize (Acting Registrar) signed the approved copies of Renewal of Affiliation Agreement (MoU) between the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma and Baptist College of Theology (BCT) Benin City.

BCT Benin gets Acting Registrar.

This is to notify the general public that College has approved the nomination of Rev Emmanuel Ehize as the Acting Registrar with immediate effect.

PROFILE OF REV EMMANUEL EHIZE.
Rev Emmanuel Ehize was born on the 5th of March, 1982 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ehize Egbiremhon, who hails from Idumeka Igueben Local Government Area, Edo State.

Education:
* He attended Utantan Primary School, Igueben where he obtained his Primary School.
* Leaving Certificate in 1993, Emekuku High School, Emekuku, Owerri, SSCE Certificate in 2001
* Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, where he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics in 2005 and 2010, respectively.
* Baptist College of Theology (BCT) Benin City, where he obtained his Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) from the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS), Ogbomoso, and Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (B.A) in 2020 from the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma.
* Master of Arts (M.A) in Comparative Study of Religions at the University of Benin (In View).

CHRISTIAN LIFE AND SERVICE
Mr Emmanuel Ehize had served the Christian Body of Christ in the following capacities:
* Evangelism Secretary of the Baptist Students Fellowship, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State from 2004-2005
* President, of the Baptist Students Fellowship, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State from 2009-2010.
* Member of Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF).

Stewardship at BCT Benin
* In 2013, he was appointed the Exams and Records Officer at the Baptist College of Theology Benin city Edo State and served in the office until 2021.
* In May 2021, he was deployed to the Admissions Office at the Baptist College of Theology (BCT) Benin from 2021 till date.
* He was ordained into full time gospel ministry in August 2024.

MARITAL STATUS:
Emmanuel Ehize is joyfully married to Mrs Jane Ehize and the marriage is blessed with lovely children.
