*Topic: What to do in face of Christian challenges?(Part 2)*
*Basic Scripture: 2nd Timothy 2:14-24*
God,is a great, loving,caring, and rewarding father.He had called everyone through the love He Has for the world but however,the partakers of this endless blessings are those that believe in His love that is Jesus Christ whom he ransomed for the sins of the whole world.He had made available principles/guidelines to succeed in faces of challenges.
OBSERVATIONS
The following are more of what should be done in face of Christian challenges
*1) Strive not about words-Verse 14*
There is a difference between people that want to know by learning more and those who think they know but do not know and want to confuse knowledge,be careful to go into argument with the latter because,they only want to confuse and water down the strength of the word in the ears of true learners.
*2) Study to know deeply the word of God-Verse 15*
The deeper you are in the word of truth,the stronger you are to face any challenges.You would not be ashamed,the more intense effort you make,the more the Holy Spirit would help you to understand and share the word of God rightly,give more time to studying the Bible.
*3) Shun profane and vain babbling-Verse 16-18*
Avoid dis-interference because it increases ungodliness.The propounders will usually err but would overthrow the faith of many e.g . Hymenaeus and Philetus.
*4) Depart from injury:Verse 19-21*
God's foundation is sure and certain,He knows His people so,anyone that would genuinely call on God must depart from iniquity so that,he would be purged,sanctified as a vessel unto honour set aside for every good works.
*5) Flee from all youthful lust-Verse 22*
To flee,to instantly disappear from any appearance of lust and this would be made easier if one abides in righteousness,faith,charity, and peace with those that call upon God with a pure heart.
*6) Strive not,avoid foolish and unlearned questions -Verse 23,24*
A genuine child of God "must not strive" but be gentle with all men and one way to achieve this is to avoid foolish and unlearned questions which are usually arranged to trap and derail a person,several attempts were made against Jesus but he escaped,you will also escape.
Prayer For The Week
Pray with 2nd Timothy 2:15 that
1) God should help you to fall in deeper love with His word so that you will prosper spiritually, physically and in all wise and have GOOD success-Joshua 1:8.
