Text: Matthew 13:9
He that has ears, let him hear —
Not just the noise, but the Seed so near.
Some hear the Word on a busy street,
Birds come quick, sn**ch it from their feet.
Some hear with joy on the rocky ground,
No root goes deep when trouble’s found.
Sun comes hot, and they fall away,
Because quick joy can’t grow and stay.
Some hear truth where the thorns grow wild,
Worry, money, likes — distractions piled.
The Word gets choked, no fruit is grown,
A crowded heart is still alone.
But he that has ears and makes good soil,
He hears, he keeps it, through test and toil.
Thirty, sixty, hundred-fold,
The Word in him won’t grow cold.
What to learn from Matthew 13:9 — “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
1. Hearing ≠ Receiving
Everyone in the parable had ears. Only one soil kept the Word. Jesus warns: you can sit in church, Zion Youth, prayer meeting and still lose the seed if you don’t guard it.
2. Understanding is a choice
Matt 13:23 — good soil “hears the word and understands it.” Ask questions. Write it down. Acts 11:23 says _continue with purpose of heart.Purpose starts with understanding.
*3. Three enemies to watch for*
| Enemy | What it does | How to fight |
*The devil*Steals seed immediately | Review the Word same day |
**Trouble** Scorches shallow roots | Build private prayer habit. 2 Tim 1:7 power |
*Thorns*Chokes with worry & wants | Fast from distractions. Pull thorns weekly |
4. Fruit is the proof
God isn’t impressed you heard it. He’s looking for 30, 60, 100x fruit.
