BLACK SUNDAY – A NATION IN NEED OF PRAYER
Today, we gather in black.
Black, not as a sign of defeat, but as a symbol of mourning for the pain, suffering, and insecurity affecting our nation.
We remember the lives that have been lost to violence.
We remember those who have been kidnapped and are still in captivity.
We remember families living in fear, communities displaced from their homes, and citizens crying out for peace and justice.
As God's people, we refuse to remain silent.
With prayers in our hearts and messages in our hands, we walked through the streets to raise awareness and intercede for our nation.
Every cardboard carried a message.
Every message reflected a burden.
Every burden became a prayer before God.
We pray for the safety of our people.
We pray for comfort for grieving families.
We pray for freedom for those held captive.
We pray for wisdom for our leaders.
We pray for peace in every community and every state.
Though today is called Black Sunday, we believe that darkness will not have the final word.
We believe that God hears the cries of His people.
We believe that healing is possible.
We believe that peace can return.
We believe that hope remains alive.
Together we stand.
Together we pray.
Together we trust God for a better nation.
May God heal our land.
May God protect our people.
May God grant us peace.
God bless our nation.
