Man deports full family after borrowing 20M and sold all their properties to relocate to UK
A family of five that sold all their properties and borrowed ₦20 million to relocate to the UK has now been deported. The family consists of a father, mother, two kids, and the daughter of the wife’s late sister.
They arrived in the UK and spent two years there. One day, the wife woke up and remembered all the bad things the husband had done to her in Nigeria. She decided it was time to pay him back.
Based on their visa, she had the work permit while the husband and kids were her dependents.
She went to the Home Office and reported that she wanted to remove her husband from her visa as she was no longer married to him.
They sent the husband an email giving him a short time to leave the country. On receiving it, he realised the ₦20 million loan would leave him in serious trouble if deported. Their plan had been for both to work and repay the debt.
He hired a lawyer and revealed a secret: one of the children did not belong to them, and the wife had not declared it during the relocation process. Travelling with a child who is not legally yours without proper adoption documents is an offence.
The lawyer ran a DNA test. An email was sent to the wife, and she knew there was trouble. She tried to flee but was stopped, searched, and arrested due to a pending case. The husband was also brought in.
A DNA test confirmed the child belonged to neither of them. The offence led to deportation.
The woman begged the husband to withdraw the case, but it was too late. In the end, the whole family was deported to Nigeria.
