OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: TUESDAY APRIL 28TH 2026

TOPIC: WHEN HE IS IN THE BOAT I

MEMORISE:
And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. - (Exodus 33:15)

BIBLE READING: MARK 4:35-41 (KJV)

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

MESSAGE:
Years ago, I travelled to Abonnema in Rivers State, Nigeria, to hold a crusade. At that time, the only way one could get to Abonnema from Port Harcourt, the state capital, was by sea. Shortly before the crusade, we heard that a boat capsized on that sea and many people lost their lives. That news, however, did not deter me, as I had made up my mind to go for the crusade. I called a meeting with the workers at the RCCG National Headquarters in Ebute Metta and asked for volunteers to accompany me. One of the workers raised his hand and asked me, "Sir, can I be in your boat?" I told him that he could. Then he responded, "That will be good." I asked him why he said so, and he replied that he knew that whatever boat I travelled in would not sink. He had so much confidence in a mere mortal like me because he knew that God is with me.

In today's Bible reading, the disciples were travelling in a ship with Jesus. After a while, a terrible storm arose, but to their surprise, He remained fast asleep. In fear, they woke Him up, and He stilled the storm. After that, they arrived at their destination safely. This is a testament to the fact that it is a great blessing to have Jesus in the boat of your life!

Beloved, if you are a child of God, Jesus is in your boat as you journey through the waters of life. I know this because He said in Matthew 28:20 that He will be with you at all times. This is why, in the midst of life's challenges, you must trust the One who is in the boat of your life because He alone has the power to make you victorious. If God is in the boat of your life, no weapon that is fashioned against you will prosper. If you involve Him in every step you take, you can rest assured that all your endeavours will turn out fine. If you have not yet given your life to Christ, surrender completely to Him today and acknowledge Him as the Controller of your life. When you do this, He will not only begin to direct your ways, but He will also walk with you every step of the way as you journey through life.

KEY POINT:
When Jesus is in your boat, you will overcome every storm.

TOPIC: REVERSING FAILURE

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

MESSAGE:
In today's Bible reading, Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. Even though he toiled throughout the night he had nothing to show for his efforts. However, God turned his failure into an instant success by arranging a divine encounter for him. After hosting Jesus in his boat, he caught so many fishes that his net broke. As he couldn't handle the size of his catch alone, he had to beckon to other fishermen to help him. Instantly, his failure was reversed, and he experienced a great turnaround.

When my mother was alive, I used to travel to Ilesha, which was very close to my hometown in western Nigeria, to visit her every two weeks. On one such visit, I was about to eat when a man was brought inside the house. At first glance, I thought he was a madman, based on his appearance. However, I learnt that he was a highly educated man who used to be very wealthy before the enemy attacked him in a very strange way. He had a problem that no doctor on earth could handle. He told me that insects of all kinds usually come out of his body at regular intervals, and he had spent everything he had seeking a solution to this spiritual attack. He had also sold all his clothes and had resorted to wearing rags. Thankfully, God had mercy on him and arranged a divine encounter for him. When he told me his story, I asked him, "Will you give your life to Jesus Christ?" I explained to him that his battle was one that only God could help him win. He gave his life to Jesus Christ, and we prayed a simple prayer before he left.

Two weeks after that incident, I went back to llesha to visit my mother as usual. Again, as I sat down to eat, a handsome, well-dressed man walked into the room. As he saw that I could not recognise him, he said, "It seems you don't recognise me." I replied, "I don't think we have ever met." He then responded, "I was the one you prayed for two weeks ago. Look at what God has done in my life in just two weeks!" Beloved, I pray that any cycle of failure in your life will be reversed for good, and you will begin to enjoy cycles of blessings and miracles, in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please reverse every cycle of failure in my life for good, in Jesus' name.

THEME: REVERSING BO***GE

10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

MESSAGE
Whenever God wants to reverse the irreversible, He usually follows a process, which typically starts with a divine appointment. What this means is that He will divinely arrange for people to meet one another.

There was once a 50-year-old man who had no wife simply because he couldn't bring himself to ask a woman, "Will you marry me?" The enemy bound him so tightly that he couldn't open his mouth to talk to any lady he was attracted to, even though he was highly educated. He knew he had a problem, but he didn’t know how to be free. Fortunately for him, God instructed us to hold a programme in his town. During the programme, he gave his life to Jesus Christ. Not only did Jesus save his soul, but He destroyed the yoke in his life, and six months later, he got married. Nine months after he got married, his wife gave birth to a set of twins. Two years later, she gave birth to another set of twins. The man's story is proof that no bo***ge is too strong for God to break. I pray for you today that any yoke that might be troubling you will be destroyed, in Jesus' name.

In today's Bible reading, Jesus went to the synagogue as was His custom. However, on this particular day, He met a woman who had been bound by the devil for 18 years. She was bent over in such a way that she couldn't stand upright. For 18 long years, she was limited in every aspect of her life. Despite the terrible bo***ge the woman was in, she met with Jesus at the synagogue and got her freedom. The yoke of bo***ge that had kept her captive for so long was broken, and she was free to lift her head and hands to praise the Lord.

Isaiah 10:27 says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." Therefore, I decree in the name that is above every other name, that whatsoever might be keeping you from lifting your head and hands to praise God is destroyed today. The Almighty God will cause you to have a divine encounter that will deliver you completely from anything that might have kept you bound, in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please let me have an encounter with You that will break any form of bo***ge that might exist in my Iife, in Jesus' name.

As you mark this special day, we pray that God grants you greater wisdom, strength, and grace to lead. May your new year be filled with divine favour, good health, and greater accomplishments.

1 Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
3 Wherefore Adonizedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

MESSAGE:
God controls times and seasons, as we see in today's memory verse. As I mentioned yesterday, He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending (Revelation 1:8). This means that He is in charge of the past, present, and future. If He wants, He can stop time like He did in today's Bible reading, where He stopped the sun from setting. God is Almighty, and He can reverse the effect of time on a person or situation.

Many years ago, as I approached my 60th birthday, I became concerned that I was growing old, and it seemed like I was still very far from completing the assignment that God had given me. My children were really excited as they wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday with me; however, I was groaning and crying to God in prayers. I still remember the spot where I was, around 2am one morning, praying and asking Him for help. I told Him that I still had so much to do, and the sun seemed to be setting on my life already. God responded, saying, "Son, I decide when the sun sets." Those words completely put my heart at rest. As you are reading this, I pray that the Lord will prove Himself mighty in your life. In lsaiah 38:1-8, Prophet lsaiah told King Hezekiah that God would heal him and add 15 years to his time on earth. He also told him that God would give him a sign to prove this to him:

"Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial us of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down". Isaiah 38:8

Beloved, God can bring something from your past into your present. He can bring an opportunity that you think you have lost forever back to you. In Genesis 18:9-14, when God said to Abraham, "Tell your wife that she will have a son," Sarah laughed. She laughed because it was humanly impossible for a woman of her age to conceive a child. However, God rebuked her and made her realize that He can restore what seems to be gone forever. I pray for you today that God will reverse time for your sake, and every good opportunity that seems to have been lost forever will be restored to you, in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please reverse time for my sake and restore all the good opportunities that I have lost, in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: PERMANENT MIRACLES

MEMORISE:
"I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him". Ecclesiastes 3:14

BIBLE READING: JOHN 5:1-14

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

MESSAGE:
One of my spiritual sons, who is from a very wealthy home, had cancer of the jawbone. He had access to the best doctors in Europe, but after they had treated him for a while, they told his parents to take him back home to Nigeria because he had just two weeks to live. His parents were devastated. When they arrived in Nigeria, they decided to bring him to Redemption City, and my faith was shaken when I saw him. The boy had trouble eating because of his illness; his head was terribly swollen, and it usually took him about an hour to finish a bottle of soft drink. I pulled myself together, prayed for him as is expected of a pastor, and God healed him. This happened 43 years ago, and to the glory of God, he is still alive today, married with children. God gave him a testimony that is still valid today. I pray that God will give you a permanent miracle, in Jesus' name.

One of the most amazing things that happens when God visits a man is that He brings permanent solutions. Mark 10:46-52 tells the story of a blind man named Bartimaeus. When he was told that Jesus was coming, he knew he would never beg again. That was why he threw his garment - the symbol of his shame, darkness, and blindness- away. I am sure that the moment he received his sight, he never begged again - his testimony was permanent. Some people have had miracles and lost them. Some have received something precious from God but have lost it out of carelessness. In the name that is above every other name, the testimony God will give you will last forever.

Beloved, the only way the miracles and testimonies you receive from God will be permanent is when you flee sin. Today's Bible reading tells us the story of a man who had been sick for 38 years; Jesus healed him, and he was happy. However, when Jesus saw him again, He warned him not to engage in sin anymore because if he did, something worse could happen to him. When someone who has been delivered by God from the path of destruction jumps back into sin, the devil can torment and torture that fellow as he pleases. If you have gone back into sin, return to Jesus today and ask Him to save you. He will graciously restore you when you return to Him wholeheartedly.

KEY POINT:
To make your miracles permanent, never toy with sin

26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

MESSAGE:
In some cultures, kings often greet their subjects by saying, "Peace be multiplied unto you." In Daniel 6:25, when King Darius was writing to all his subjects after Daniel had escaped the lions' den unhurt, he started his letter with, "Peace be multiplied unto you." Also, in the New Testament, each time Apostle Paul wrote to the various churches, he would start by greeting them, "Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father" (Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:3). Likewise, Peter, in his letters, often wrote, "Peace be multiplied unto you" (1 Peter 1:2 and 2 Peter 1:2). All of these greetings make us understand that peace can increase, and it can be multiplied. Even if you feel that you already have peace and there is nothing to worry about, you should always pray that your peace will be multiplied. If peace can bring so much rest, multiplied peace can bring much more.

Years ago, I was returning from Britain to Nigeria on the same flight as a great man of God and his wife. According to his testimony, which I heard later on, he told his wife during the flight that since Daddy G.O. was on the plane with them, there was absolutely nothing to worry about.
When we were halfway through the journey, the plane encountered severe turbulence, and the entire cabin began to shake. According to the man of God, he got up at that moment, looked at where I was seated on the plane, and saw that I was fast asleep. He then returned to his seat and told his wife that there was absolutely nothing to worry about because "Daddy is sleeping." He said that seeing me sleeping at that moment multiplied the peace he already had.

When you experience multiplied peace from God, every form of trouble or fear will be far from you. In John 14:27, Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" I pray that the peace of the Lord will be multiplied unto you today, in Jesus' name.

Beloved, the secret to enjoying multiplied peace from God is revealed in today's memory verse - loving Him and His law. If you indeed want your peace to be multiplied, you must love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37), and obey His commandments at all times.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please multiply Your peace in all areas of my life, in Jesus' Name.
