Upper Room Experience 1

Acts 2:1--4
1. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Upper Room Experience took place on the day of pentecost.
Pentecost was the coming of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus Christ.

The coming of the Holy Spirit was a promise of the father(God) to all that believe and accept Jesus Christ.
It is to initiate a new convenant with his people.
Hebrews 8:10--11
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

In this new convenant, the laws are not written on tables, they are written on hearts. That is the word of God.
And Jesus Christ is the word of God. He could not duel in our hearts when he was flesh and blood. He has to depart for the Holy Spirit to come in the same similitude, because it is only through that way, he could enter human and live inside the human.
So Jesus Christ came to live inside his people that have accepted him through the Holy Spirit, for he is the head quarter of the God head.

The scripture says when the disciples were together in one accord in one place, praying, suddenly the Holy Spirit descended on them, then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

GRACE 4

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

To be in health is to live a life that is free from sickness and diseases. And that is God's will for his children.
It is totally wrong to say that sickness is God's will because you have prayed and it refuse to go.
You don't accept sickness as your fate simply because it has stayed long in your body. Faith in God is kept alive in keep believing in God.

Living above sickness is by grace.
Understanding what scripture says concerning our health is what releases the grace.

Deuteronomy 28:15
“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

Firstly, sickness is a curse of the law.
As sickness is a curse of the law, Jesus Christ is the end of the law to those that believe.
Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Jesus Christ has taken away the curse, he has redeemed us from the curse of the law.
Galatians 3:13
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)
If you are sick in any part of your body, Jesus Christ had made provision for your healing long ago before you were born, the scripture says by his stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

So there is no room for sickness in your body because Jesus Christ has paid the price for you to enjoy divine health.
The big question is; who is the cause of sickness and diseases?
Satan is the cause of sickness and diseases.
Luke 13:16
So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”
From the above scripture, it was Satan that was responsible for the affliction the woman suffered for eighteen years.
He brings sickness to cut short the lives and destinies of people.

Haven know that sickness is not God's will for his children, refuse sickness in it's totality with your heart and spirit.
Have faith that you can live a life free from sickness(divine health).
To everyone that will say AMEN, you will live above sickness and diseases in Jesus name.
Your body will not know sickness and sickness will not know your body in the name of Jesus.
I decree healing to everyone having health challenges in any part of the body, be healed right now in the name of Jesus.

EXERCISING DOMINION 4

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

What makes the blood of Jesus so powerful?
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

The blood of Jesus is so powerful because the life of Jesus Christ is in the blood of Jesus.
Each time we plead the blood of Jesus, it is Jesus Christ that appears on the scene because his life is in the blood. His personality is in the blood.

The powers that we are fighting against in our families are ancient powers that are older than us but they are not older than Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ was existing before the beginning. He was with God from the beginning. And because he existed before the beginning, he is called the ancient of days.

When you are confronting ancient powers from your father and mother house that are older than you, it is advisable you confront them with the blood of Jesus.
The moment you plead the blood of Jesus, the ancient of days(Jesus) stand against them.

Psalm 24:8
Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.
He is called mighty in battle. He has never lose any battle.

I decree over your life, as you plead the blood of Jesus in your home, around your business environment and place of work, any ancient powers fighting you will be destroyed in the name of Jesus.

EXERCISING DOMINION 3

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

We have learnt that we exercise dominion in the name of Jesus, another weapon we can use to exercise dominion is the blood of Jesus.

As we make decree by speaking with our mouths and pleading the blood of Jesus, the blood begins to speak for us. The good part is; it speaks better things than what we are speaking.

Hebrews 12:24
to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. Hear the Heavenly Voice.

The blood of Jesus speaks align with the will of God for you. If what you are battling with was initiated by an ancestral convenant, when you plead the blood of Jesus during prayer,it is the blood that breaks such convenant.
Every convenant is established by blood, without blood, there can not be any convenant. So it is only by blood a convenant can be broken and a purer blood at that, which is the blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 9:18
Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood.

The blood of Jesus has the ability to silent contrary voices from evil altars. I mean those altars where convenant has been established by shedding blood on them.
It is blood that give voices to altars, it is also blood that can silent voices that are speaking from evil altars,this time, it must be a stronger blood -- the blood of Jesus.
When we plead the blood of Jesus, demonic spirits are put on flight because they can not withstand the blood of Jesus.

Any time the blood of Jesus is mentioned when exercising dominion, the works of the devil is paralyzed.
Always plead the blood of Jesus over your home and family.

PRAYER POINT
Father in the name of Jesus, I plead the blood of Jesus over my household and against any evil altar that is speaking against my destiny, let the blood of Jesus silent the voices from that evil altar.

EXERCISING DOMINION 2

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Haven know that Jesus Christ is the restorer of true Dominion, no man can exercise true Dominion without accepting Jesus Christ into his or her life.

Matthew 8:9
For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.

It is when you have submitted yourself under the authority of Jesus, you can exercise Dominion.
God gave man Dominion in 3 faces, which are over the air, land and waters. That makes us in charge and control over every element of the air, land and waters.

Philippians 2:9-10
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

It is only at the mention of the name of Jesus, that you can control every element, both living and non living. It is by his name, things in heaven, things in earth and things under the earth will bow.

You exercise dominion by making declaration with your mouth. You decree what you want to see with your mouth. Your month was not given to you to eat alone,it was given to you as a tool to bring a positive change to your world and as an offensive and defensive weapon.

Isaiah 34:16
“Search from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.

Understand that when a child of God speaks,the Spirit of God will gather the words and bring them to manifestation. He is the power of creation. The Spirit of God is waiting for you to speak over that situation.

2 Corinthians 4:13
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

It is not in your power to change things, it is the Holyspirit, your part is to decree by faith in the name of Jesus.
If you are speaking without faith, you will be making mess of yourself. Scripture says "I believed and therefore I spoke".
Do not live in the passed by saying in your heart, I have prayed and decree but nothing happened, it will not take you any where. Live in the present and say in your heart, now I will create a new world around me by faith declaration.

ACTION POINT
Strengthen your faith by meditating on God's word daily and exercise dominion over your world.

EXERCISING DOMINION 1

Genesis 1:26

Dominion means authority, ability to exercise control or power over a people, things or territory.
You cannot talk about dominion without talking about territory.
Psalm 115:16
The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
God entrusted the earth to humanity to steward, cultivate, and govern under his authority. This tells us that man was placed in headship by God over whatever could be found in the territory where he had been placed

It is interesting to note that from the beginning nothing was intended to rule over man. He was a god on earth who was under the authority of Elohim.
Man exercised this authority so much that he named every creature that was made by God.
The Bible tells us Adam tended the garden. He managed Earth's resources and was representing God's rule on earth.
As a creature of dominion, Adam did not know fear. He was in charge and that was because he was under God's authority. So, God is the source of authority. No authority exists independently of Him.
Human authority is delegated, not self-created.
Psalm 62:11
God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God."
We trace all authority to God as the source. Hence, for man to exercise dominion, he must first submit himself to God.

PRAYER POINT
Father in the name of Jesus, I give my heart to you and I surrender to you.

GRACE 3

1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

My focus today on the subject of Grace is the "Grace for service".
It is very important that you understand that as a believer, you are called.
Matthew 22:14
For many are called, but few are chosen.
The day you gave your life to Jesus Christ, that was the day you answered God's call. That makes you among the few that are chosen. Glory be to God forevermore.

So remove your mind from Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers each time you hear the word "called", because we are all called.
That you are called means you have a service to offer in this Kingdom.
When you tell any person that you are born again and the person ask you, what is your department in Church,it means that person wants to know how devoted you are to God.

Your service in this Kingdom is what shows that you are truly devoted to God.
Everybody is not called to preach on the alter but we are all called to do something that will affect the lives of others positively. Believers are not only recipients of grace, but also conduits, called to minister this grace to others. Your ministration is your service in this Kingdom.
Daily empowerment for Christian Service flow entirely from God's grace. God has empowered you with his grace when he called you. Go with that boldness and make exploit for the kingdom.

Finally, ministering by Grace means remaining in union with Jesus and allowing him to be the substance and source of your work.

GRACE 2

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Grace can be seen as God's ability(help) working in a man or working for a man.
Some people are able to go extra mile in doing some certain things that flesh and blood can not accomplished because they have acquired grace to function.

Paul said in 1st Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Paul recognized that what he was able to accomplished was not by his own strength but by the grace of God,he said he was able to labored more abundantly than other disciples of Jesus Christ through the grace of God bestowed on him.
He was talking of the helping Grace of God.
I have heard of a testimony of an old woman of 100 years old that is praying for 3 hours at a stretch everyday. And she is looking very strong to the extent of eating any type of food. This is grace at work.

If you find it difficult to pray for an hour, you need the grace of God.
If you find it difficult to fast from 6am to 12noon, which is the least, you need the grace of God. If you can not stay awake to pray at night, you need the grace of God.

It is obvious as children of God, there is need for us to grow in grace by obtaining more grace. In order to obtain more grace, you must have to access the throne of grace through prayer.
Romans 4:16
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.
All that is needed to obtain more grace in the place of prayer is faith. Faith is the key to grace.
The second way to obtain grace is by sowing seed into the life of a carrier of special grace.
When you see someone that has God's given gift to sing, pray, minister the word, evangelise, etc and you so much desire such gift, you can covet it by sowing seed into the life of that person, you too will carry the grace to do same.

ACTION POINT
Specify the area where you need God's grace and ask God to release more of his grace upon your life.

Grace 1

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

Grace is God's life transforming gift of his favor to those who do not deserve it.
Scripture says in Titus 2:11
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men".
The gift of salvation is available for all who through faith accept his grace revealed in Jesus Christ. So Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Grace. You can not carry Jesus Christ and not carry Grace.
When we accepted Jesus Christ into our heart at new birth through faith,we all received Grace.
We did not work for the Grace of God,if not,it wouldn't have be called Grace. It is actually the favor of God.

Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
No man can be saved by the works of righteousness because our righteousness is like a filthy rag.
When it comes to the subject of Salvation, the name of Jesus must be mentioned.
If one claimed to be saved because he knows God or has a relationship with God, you should ask; which God? The reason you should asked is because there are gods, which are many.

There is no other name mention on earth through which a man can be saved other than the name Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the head quarter of the Godhead. When his name is mention, Grace begin to speak. When his name is mention, Grace takes over. Each time you call the name of Jesus Christ, you are saying not by my power. So Grace is release.
As I conclude, let us take advantage of the Grace of God in the place of prayer.

PRAYER POINT
Father in the name of Jesus, let your grace find expression in my life in Jesus name

WALKING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

We shall be looking at:
Is the Holyspirit a person or an influence?

The aim of today teaching is to guide us on how to relate with the Holy Spirit.
What is an influence?
An influence is a force or power to affect the way someone or something develops, behaves, or thinks, without using direct orders.
While a person can only be described with the characteristics of a human being, so if you are a human,it means you should know anything that have the behavior of a Person.

In order to know if the Holy Spirit is a person or an influence,we shall be looking deeply into the attributes of the Holy Spirit that was outline last week.

1. The Holy Spirit is holy.
To be holy is to be pure, without sin and blameless.
Scripture says in Habakkuk 1:13; "Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and can not look on iniquity: ......"
He is called the Holy Spirit because he is holy. He can not even behold iniquity.

In John 16:8, scripture says; "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment".
The Holy Spirit is so holy that is presence can convict a sinner of his or her sin.
When you see people crying with tears coming out of their eyes and start confessing Jesus as their Lord in the presence of God, it is the presence of the Holyspirit that has convict them of their sin.
When the presence of the Holy Spirit is strong in Church, you don't need to preach on sin before people will start kneeing down to confess their sin and give their lives to Jesus Christ because they are convicted of their sin by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

When the disciples of Jesus Christ caught great multitude of fishes by the instruction of Jesus,that cause their net to brake, in Luke 5:8 ;"When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
Peter could not stand the Presence of the Holy Spirit which is the power behind the miraculous, hence he said Jesus should depart from him, he felt he was filty before God.
It is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives that can enable us live above flesh and carnality. It is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of God.

2. He is the Spirit of truth.
John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
What is truth?
The word of God is truth.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth because he brings the word of God to our heart by way of reminding us of what God's word says.
Whatever he brings to your heart from God's word is what he is saying to you and whatever he says to you is the truth.

3. He is a Teacher.
John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
The above scripture says the Holy Spirit will teach you all things. There is nothing the Holy Spirit can not teach you. You can actually learn from the Holy Spirit.
He is the best Teacher that can teach you the right part,he will not mislead you,he will not lie to you because he is not flesh and blood.

4. He is a comforter.
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
The Holy Spirit is the one that comfort believers when they experience anything that makes them bad. He comfort believers by giving them hope and restore our joy.
Any one that is unhappy as a result of bad experience, receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.

5. He can be grieved.
Ephesians 4:30
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit can be grieved by our attitude towards him and when we defile his Temple which is our body through immorality.
So the Holy Spirit has emotion. He can be hurt.

6. He can be insulted.
Hebrews 10:29
Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of grace.
After giving your life to God by accepting Jesus Christ into your life, you go back to a sinful life and remain in your sin, you have insulted the Spirit of grace.

Romans 6:1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Do not continue in sin and say you are under grace, that grace is covering you.
There are other attributes of the Holy Spirit, but I will want to stop here today.

In conclusion, it is only a Person that can be said to live a holy life, say the truth, able to teach, can comfort someone, can be grieved and can be insulted. Therefore the Holyspirit is a person that you can actually talk to and relate with.
