Truth worth reading!

In Ancient Greece, Socrates had a great reputation of wisdom. One day, someone came to find the great philosopher and said to him:

Do you know what I just heard about your friend?

A moment, replied Socrates. Before you tell me, I would like to test you the three sieves. The three sieves?

Yes, continued Socrates. Before telling anything about the others, it's good to take the time to filter what you mean. I call it the test of the three sieves. The first sieve is the TRUTH. Have you checked if what you're going to tell me is true?

No, I just heard it.

Very good! So, you don't know if it's true. We continue with the second sieve, that of KINDNESS. What you want to tell me about my friend, is it good?

Oh, no! On the contrary.

So, questioned Socrates, you want to tell me bad things about him and you're not even sure they're true? Maybe you can still pass the test of the third sieve, that of UTILITY. Is it useful that I know what you're going to tell me about this friend?

No, really.

So, concluded Socrates, what you were going to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor useful. Why, then, did you want to tell me this?

"Gossip is a bad thing. In the beginning it may seem enjoyable and fun, but in the end, it fills our hearts with bitterness and poisons us, too!"
- Pope Francis

Before you spread that news, make sure it passes these three tests. Ask if you are the one being discussed.

Let the change start with us.

It takes courage to look at your failures and still choose to try again, it takes courage to meet with fierce opposition and still choose to fight, it takes courage to endure pain, and choose to be strong. It's very easy to fall, it takes courage to stand.

How To Know If You are a Confident Person

1. When you believe in your ability to figure things out and solve problems. With this, you will know that you can deal with whatever comes your way.

2. When you stop worrying about what others think but focus on developing yourself to become what you want to be.

3. When you love your life. You believe that your life is great and if anything should make it less, you are able to fix it.

4. When you believe that you can do more. That there is always room for growth, to improve and to achieve more.

5. When you prove to yourself that you can do more than you think you can. You are able to challenge the limits you encounter on a daily basis and find success in a lot of them.

6. When you are comfortable with failing. You take failure as a learning experience rather than a destruction.

7. When you can step out of your comfort zone. You are comfortable with discomfort.

8. When you are not intimidated or discouraged by negative remarks. You agree with the negative remark, smile and laugh about it, and let the remark pass right through you. Or you keep an open mind and where possible, be willing to own up to your mistakes and make efforts to recover from them.

9. When you do what needs to be done. You stop making excuses for yourself and others. Rather, you see everything through the “needs to be done” perspective even if you are terrified.
