DAVID VS GOLIATH.

1 Samuel 17:43-46.

Bible in this one year: Numbers 17-20.

In the old testament, wars were not just fought with spears and swords. Before they go to war, they first go and consult superior powers and the warriors are prepared. That was why when David faced Goliath, before swords and other weapons began to move, there was this period where there was battle of words.

It was during this period that whosoever will win the battle wins. Goliath was the first to start. He started reciting incantation. Scripture revealed that Goliath cursed David by the names of his gods because when you see an ancient warrior like Goliath, he was not just fortified by his sword or armour but also with dark powers. David did not keep mute after he heard everything Goliath said. He fired back with words too because at this stage it was battle of words. He did not start panicking or became afraid rather he opened his mouth and fired those word missiles. That is what you should do when the wicked wants to curse you or a threat is thrown at you. Do not panic or be dismayed.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 54:17.

Each time Moses said "let my people go" Pharaoh will say something opposite but instead of Moses agreeing with what Pharaoh said knowing that Pharaoh's words were anointed and backed by the power of darkness, he would lift up his rod and decree what God had told him. If Moses had agreed with the enemy he would have empowered Pharaoh. That is how you should lift up the rod of your authority as a believer and counter every opposing utterance.

You remember Balaam? He was anointed to bless or curse. Anyone he blessed was blessed and any he cursed was cursed. The king sends an entourage with money to come and curse the children of Isreal. Why would the king want to curse them first before engaging them in battle? It is because life is primarily the battle of words.

*PRAYER: In the name of Jesus Christ every negative word that has been spoken over my life and it is exercising some form of influence over me, my family, marriage, career or business, this moment with my mouth I neutralize them and abort them from operating in my life. I declare I am blessed and not cursed. Amen*

*ANOINTING- THE DIFFERENCE MAKER.*

*I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him. Psalm 89:20*

You cannot have dominion without the anointing. It is the enabling power of the Holy Spirit that propels you into the life of dominion. It sets you apart and distinguishes you for great exploits in life. *About David the bible said "Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward... (1 Samuel 16:13)*

The anointing makes one special and attractive, it draws men to you. There is nothing like struggle whenever you are under the anointing. No one is ugly who carries the anointing; it makes glory of God shine upon you. Do you want success in life? Then get the anointing. There is anointing for ministry, anointing for finance, excellence, governance, leadership and even for successful marriage. You should endeavour to get the one for your area of calling and need. The anointing is the key to divine magnetism, it doesn't matter your location.

Psalms 89:19 says that it singles you out amongst the people. When Jesus came down from the wilderness after his fasting, the scripture says: " *And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee: and there went out the fame of Him through all the region round about." (Luke 4:14).* people won't know you until you have gotten oil upon your life. It advertises you, gives you a voice and gives you advantage others do not have. Do you intend to be different, to be distinguished and unique? Then, get the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon you.

*PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for showing me what it will take to exercise that dominion that you have given to me. I ask you father that you anoint my head with your Spirit, fill my life with the oil of your power so I can do exploits for you today, in Jesus' name. Amen.*

Bible in one year: Proverb 22.

THE POWER OF ILLUMINATION.

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3."

One of the major ways the Holy Spirit responds when He is called upon us to bring light or illumination. This is so important because light dispels darkness which creates the enabling environment for Satan to perpetuate his evil. Little wonder the first thing God did during creation is the introduction of light to deny Satan the atmosphere of establishing chaos.

Do you want to defeat Satan? Do you want to get out of that hopeless situation? Then introduce light, it disarms Satan and puts him out of business because he thrives in darkness. That is why the Bible says that without vision the people perish. The world was living in darkness when Jesus came as light and shun and darkness could not comprehend it. The other problems that were introduced at the beginning of this present earth gave way as soon as the Spirit of God was activated and light was introduced.

"Breakthrough is a sudden burst of light/ illumination... Pastor David Ogbueli." The opening scripture says you should call upon God and He will answer and show you great and mighty things you know not of. That's illumination, that's understanding which brings direction. Living without illumination is like driving in the dead dark of the night without your head lamps on. Surely you are bound to crash.

About the children of Isreal, Bible says that God moved with them as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire at night. The essence of the fire at night is not just to scare wild animals; it is also to provide illumination and direction. Like Paul the Ephesians 1:18 prayer should be on your lips every other day. Light- illumination is important because blindness is the worse form of aliment.

Prayers: oh God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, I ask that you may give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you, that the eyes of my understanding be enlightened. Open my eyes and grant that I may receive illumination and direction in life in Jesus name. Amen.
