At thirteen, she was already writing poems in a language that was not her own. No one believed that she was the author. At the age of twenty, Phillis was questioned by a court of eighteen enlightened men in robes and wigs.

She had to recite texts from Virgil and Milton and some messages from the Bible, and she also had to swear that the poems she had written were not plagiarized. From a chair, she gave her long examination, until the court accepted her: she was a woman, she was black, she was a slave, but she was a poet. "

Phillis Wheatley, was the first African-American writer to publish a book in the United States.

Man is Mortal yet Immortal
There is this saying by some people that as man dies, he goes, that is, he is gone and gone forever. God is a Spirit and man is equally a spirit. Spirit does not die.
There are the Holy Spirit and the evil spirit. Holy Spirit proceeds from God in Heaven, and the evil spirit from Satan of Hell. When one dies, one's spirit leaves the body to the place one prepared for oneself while on earth, either to Heaven or Hell. Those who lived righteously will be called into Heaven by God to enjoy God's glory and peace and those who lived unrighteously will be thrown into Hell to suffer in it forever. Pursue Heaven while you may. Hell is not for you, please. God bless you as you pursue Heaven while on earth.

Heaven and Hell are real. The choice of which of the two you want to spend eternity in is made here while on the planet earth. This is the time of the grace of God. After life here, life continues either in Heaven or Hell. Heaven is glorious while hell is terrible. Let us pursue Heaven while we may before it is too late. Beloved in Christ,
When a sinner encounters Jesus Christ, there is a complete turn around from sinful life to holy life. The touch of Christ makes the sinner to love righteousness and Holiness. Satan, the Devil, hates holy living, therefore he blinds people to be interested only in the things of the world without thinking about making Heaven. This world is not our home but Heaven is. We all came from the Almighty God, who is in Heaven, to be on Earth for a while and go back to Him. Satan who can never get back to Heaven is fighting for converts to join him in Hell, thus he takes away the eyes of those he can deceive from the pursuit of Heaven. Run for your life now while you may. The time of grace to make Heaven your life choice is now, because after life here on Earth, judgement of God follows without mercy. What will it profit you if you gain the whole world and loose your own soul to eternity in Hell. Seek God first and His righteousness and every other thing will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Heaven and Hell are real.
When a sinner encounters Jesus Christ by coming to Him in genuine repentance from his sins, after realizing that he is a sinner, and after asking God for the forgiveness of his sins, and asked Jesus Christ to come into his life to be his Lord, Saviour and Redeemer, and wash his sins away with His Blood, the Holy Spirit of God enters into his life as the sinful nature has been flushed away, and replacing it with the Holy nature of God. The Holy Bible says in 2Corinthians 5:17 ' Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature/creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.'
NB: God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth. Man is a spirit but has a soul and lives in a mortal body. Christ coming into a man's life is therefore a spiritual transformation by the Holy Spirit of God. Inner peace and joy unspeakable follow genuine repentance. Any person that did not experience such when he came to Christ Jesus in repentance for the salvation of his soul, has some reservation that can manifest the old sinful life any time. In surrendering to Christ, surrender all. Christians are called Saints(Romans1:7). Without holiness no eyes shall see God. That is, sinners will not make Heaven. Let us pursue Heaven by living the life of absolute holiness. The entrance of Jesus Christ into a person's life on the person's invitation, makes the person to love righteousness. The desire to sin becomes dead. To keep going in the Born Again life style, the Christian should keep renewing his mind with the Word of God, the Holy Bible, meditating on it day and night, every day, together with sweet hours of prayers in His Divine Presence. It is not the will of God that anyone should go to Hell but to make Heaven. The Pursuit of Heaven should therefore be our lives' stake and take. "Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness and every other thing will be added to you"(Matthew 6:33)
All good blessings come from God, Almighty. Some people when they make it in life, forget God. Their whole heart will only be centered on their riches. From Matthew 6:16-33, God calls the attention of such people on the ephemeral nature of earthly riches. He tells us, to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing will be added to us.
There are kingdoms: God's Kingdom; Satanic kingdom and the human kingdom. God's Kingdom principle is Holiness and the satanic kingdom principle is Unholiness. Human kingdom principle is dependent on either God's or satanic principle, which one has chosen to abide by. The Palace of God is in HEAVEN, a place of everlasting peace and joy while that of Satan is in Hell, a place of everlasting torment.
Here this story: 'A man in a dream, was first taken to hell. Satan, a very handsome man, not ugly as said, was holding merry making party to his subjects. Then the man was taken to Heaven and was welcomed by an angel. He saw people engrossed in worship to the Almighty God. It was glorious. Then the Angel asked him to make a choice between Hell and Heaven, having seen the two. He preferred where merry making was. The door of Hell was opened for him. He met a clear state of Hell. He cried as he asked Satan what happened. Satan answered him, that the first time he came, he, satan, was in serious campaign for members."
Beloved, Heaven and Hell are real. God knows all your needs. HE supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. What will it profit you to gain the whole world and loose your own soul to Hell.
Except you are Born Again you cannot see the Kingdom of God,ie Heaven (John 3:3). To be Born Again is to receive Jesus Christ into your heart, and accept Him as your Lord and personal Savior. To them that receive Him, He gives power to become the sons and daughters of God (John 1:12). If you do that with genuine repentance from your sins, you will witness the miracle of the Salvation of your soul. Old things, desire to sin, will roll away and everything in your life will be new(2Cor. 5:17).
Your name will be cancelled in the satanic kingdom, and now boldly written in the Book of Life, the Heavenly Register for members of the Kingdom of God.
Make your choice now while you may, of the Kingdom you want to go to. Life on earth is the time of grace, after here on Earth, there will be no more grace. That was the vision in the man's dream. After death is God's judgement. God is no respecter of persons. Don't cry after life here on Earth as the man, and the certain rich man in Lazarus time. Make your wise choice now. God's concern is for you to make Heaven at last. Take the decision now and join me in the Pursuit for Heaven. Priest

Every human being is an express image of God because He created us in His Divine image. HE is our FATHER and He is in HEAVEN above. If you are His child, you have to live a life of holiness because He is holy. HE doesn't tolerate sin. Jesus Christ is the Way out of sin. Accept Jesus Christ into your life as your only Lord and Savior. As you just do that, you are automatically a member of God's Holy Family, and assuredly you are a candidate of Heaven. Run for your life while you may. Hell is a horrible place. Pursue Heaven. Sin no more. Pursuit of Heaven has to be our only life concern while on Earth, as we are strangers here on Earth. God loves you and gave His only Jesus Christ for you to redeem you from sin. Come to Jesus Christ now, accept Him now into your life.
