SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT — NOT EVERY CELEBRATION IS OF GOD
Main Texts:
Ephesians 5:11
2 Corinthians 2:11
1 Peter 5:8
Hosea 4:6
Introduction
Many believers are spiritually asleep and do not understand that not every celebration, festival, carnival, masquerade gathering, shrine ceremony, or public rejoicing is approved by God. Some people only look at the physical side — the dancing, music, entertainment, money, food, and excitement — but spiritually there may be hidden powers, evil covenants, satanic altars, territorial spirits, and demonic activities operating behind those gatherings.
The Bible warns believers in Ephesians 5:11:
> “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
A true child of God must have spiritual discernment. Many evil men and women gather physically, but spiritually they are working with powers of darkness. Some ceremonies are not ordinary entertainment. Behind many of them are hidden satanic agendas to strengthen evil altars, renew ancient covenants, invoke territorial spirits, release affliction, spread immorality, and pollute the spiritual atmosphere of the land.
The Enemy Also Has an Agenda
Many Christians know that God has a purpose, but they forget that Satan also has plans, expectations, and assignments against souls, churches, families, and communities. The enemy is not sleeping. Darkness is always looking for ways to enter territories and influence people spiritually.
John 10:10 says:
> “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”
This means Satan has an evil mission. Some ungodly festivals and ceremonies become open doors for demonic influence, manipulation, bo***ge, fear, oppression, confusion, and spiritual corruption.
That is why believers must be spiritually watchful and prayerful. The enemy studies territories, families, churches, and individuals looking for open doors through compromise, prayerlessness, sin, and spiritual ignorance.
Hosea 4:6 says:
> “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Not Every Celebration Is Spiritually Safe
Many people think giving money to masquerades, supporting shrine festivals, sitting down to watch evil displays, rejoicing with ungodly ceremonies, or participating in certain pagan traditions does not matter spiritually. Some even say, “It is only culture,” or “It is only entertainment.” But a believer must ask: What spirit is behind it?
Not everything that is popular is spiritually safe. Not every gathering carries the presence of God. Some celebrations are deeply connected to idols, shrines, occult powers, ancestral covenants, and satanic dedication.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:20–21:
> “The things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God… Ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”
A believer must be careful not to support darkness knowingly or unknowingly. Some people contribute money, clap hands, celebrate, dance, or honour masquerades and shrine activities without understanding the spiritual implications connected to such practices.
Spiritual Influence Behind Evil Gatherings
Many evil gatherings are not empty physically or spiritually. Some are used to:
Renew evil covenants.
Strengthen territorial powers.
Invoke marine spirits and ancestral demons.
Release oppression and affliction into communities.
Spread immorality and spiritual pollution.
Manipulate destinies and weaken prayer altars.
Introduce fear and bo***ge into the land.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 2:11:
> “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
The enemy works through deception. Many people only see the physical celebration but do not understand the hidden spiritual activities taking place behind the scenes.
The Church Must Wake Up
This is not the time for believers to be spiritually careless. The church must wake up in holiness, discernment, fasting, and prayer. When believers stop praying, darkness gains ground. Evil altars become stronger when the fire on Christian prayer altars dies.
1 Peter 5:8 says:
> “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Satan fears a praying church. When believers arise in intercession, evil agendas collapse, satanic expectations fail, and demonic operations are scattered.
When the church prays:
Evil covenants break.
Witchcraft powers scatter.
Territorial demons lose control.
Satanic expectations fail.
Evil altars collapse.
The fire of God purifies the land.
Psalm 68:1 says:
> “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered.”
Conclusion
Believers must ask God for spiritual understanding in this generation. Not every celebration is harmless. Not every public gathering is spiritually clean. Christians must avoid every appearance of evil and stand firmly for righteousness and holiness.
Jesus Christ is Lord over every shrine, every altar, every masquerade power, every deity, every witchcraft operation, and every kingdom of darkness. The church must arise, keep the fire of prayer burning, and stand as light in the midst of darkness.
Matthew 5:14:
> “Ye are the light of the world.”
