Joy in Chaos

God, the LORD my God is my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble - _I have joy in chaos_

Therefore I will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains crash into the very heart of the sea - _I'll have joy in chaos_

The waters may roar and foam and the mountains quake to their foundation with their surging- _I still have joy in chaos_

You can have joy in the chaos. Amid all trials, pains, disappointments, betrayals, frustration, and all vices- you can have joy in chaos. All you need do is to rest in the love of Jesus, He will calm all your fears.

Jesus is just too powerful to be an ordinary man, and the logical reasoning of man is too frail to comprehend the ultimate love of God.

If it's so simple to understand by critical thinking, there won't be need for Faith as a justification element.

Fulfilling the Law of Christ

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2, NIV)

When we live in peace and unity, it pleases God. When we love and serve others, putting their needs above our own, we are honoring Him. When we carry each other’s burdens, we are fulfilling the law of Christ, which is to love others.

What does it mean to carry each other’s burdens? There are many ways to reach out to people and help shoulder their load, so to speak. Just by giving an encouraging word or smile, you can help lighten the load for someone. When you pray and intercede for others in their day of difficulty, you are helping to carry their burdens. Maybe there are other ways to help the people around you. Maybe you can pay for someone’s groceries or give someone cash at the gas pump. Anytime you help others and reach out to those in need, scripture says you are directly lending a hand to God Himself.

Today, look for ways to lighten the load for the people around you. Be a burden lifter. Remember, in God’s kingdom what you sow, you shall reap. When you help others, God promises to repay you. He’ll pour out His victory and blessing on you all the days of your life!

Father, I want to fulfill Your law of love by serving and helping others. Show me how to be a blessing to the people around me so that I can help carry their burdens in Jesus name. Amen.

True Success
.. Freely you have received; freely give. (Matthew 10:8, NIV)

There are a lot of people who are successful in this world. They’ve accomplished their goals in the public eye. But being successful isn’t just about what you make happen for yourself, it’s about what you make happen for others. It’s when you realize, “God has blessed me not to just sit on my throne and let everybody see my accomplishments; God has blessed me to be a blessing to others. God has helped me to win so I can help somebody else win.” In other words, it’s when you realize, “God helped me overcome this addiction, now I’m going to find somebody and help them overcome.” Or, “God has blessed me with a happy family. I’m going to go find a family who is struggling and help them get back on track.” That’s what being successful is really all about.

Today, look for ways to help others succeed. Reach back and give freely of the talents and abilities you’ve been given. As you do, you’ll rise up higher and live in the fullness of the blessing God has prepared for you!

Father, thank You for giving me so much. Thank You for blessing me with talents and abilities and the desire to bless others. Show me ways to reach out and help others move forward and be successful so we can all rise higher together in Jesus name. Amen.

Tame Your Temper

Doest thou well to be angry? Jonah 4:4

You have a temper! There is nothing unique about that. Most people have tempers, in varying degrees, of course. God does not ask that you get rid of that temper. But He does say that if you are to be happy, it must be brought under control and rechanneled to proper use. God cannot use a man without a temper as well as one with a controlled temper. Too many professed Christians never get “wrought up” about anything; they never get indignant with injustice, with corruption in high places, or with the godless traffics which barter away the souls and bodies of men.

Use my anger to help others, Lord. When I see them hurting or Your world decaying, let me be challenged to reach outinstead of merely exploding.

The Secret of Contentment

I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead ...
Ephesians 1:19,20 (TLB)

Jesus told His disciples that the world would hate them. They would be “as sheep in the midst of wolves.” They would be arrested, scourged, and brought before governors and kings. Even their loved ones would persecute them. As the world hated and persecuted Him, so it would treat His servants. Thousands of Christians have learned the secret of contentment and joy in trial. Some of the happiest Christians I have met have been life-long sufferers. They have had every reason to sigh and complain, being denied so many privileges and pleasures that they see others enjoy, yet they have found greater cause for gratitude and joy than many who are prosperous, vigorous, and strong.

In all ages, Christians have found it possible to maintain the spirit of joy in the hour of trial. In circumstances that would have felled most men, they have so completely risen above them that they actually have used the circumstances to serve and glorify Christ.

Lord Jesus, keep us ever mindful of the need to rejoice in You constantly; to go beyond the circumstance, no matter how desperate, and to see You as our hope and joy.

God of Order

Psalms 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

The trouble with our modern thinking is that we have a conception that God is a haphazard God with no set rules of life and salvation. Ask the astronomer if God is a haphazard God. He will tell you that every star moves with precision in its celestial path. Ask the scientist if God is a haphazard God. He will tell you that His formulas and equations are fixed, and that to ignore the laws of science would be a fool’s folly. If the laws in the material realm are so fixed and exact, is it reasonable that God could afford to be haphazard in the spiritual realm, where eternal destinies of souls are at stake? Just as God has equations and rules in the material realm, God has equations and rules in the spiritual.

Thank You, God, for Your absolute divine order. Amid confusion, it brings me hope and perfect peace

There are many places in the Bible that encourage us not to be afraid. Fear paralyzes us, preventing us from living the abundant and miraculous life God wants for us. Fear manifests in many ways, including bashfulness, insecurity, timidity, feelings of intimidation, nervousness, anxiety, and a paralyzing incapacity. Satan’s agenda is to use fear to manipulate and control us, corrupt our perception and thinking processes, and keep us trapped in his deceptions so we cannot live in the power of God. He wants us to succumb to lies and intimidating statements like the following:

God can’t use me!
I am not spiritual enough.
I am too shy and afraid to step out in faith.
My sinful past has disqualified me from being used by God in a mighty way.
God can only use people who have a large television ministry.
God won’t answer my prayers.
God’s Perfect Love Casts Out Fear
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). The Greek word translated “fear” in this verse is phobos, meaning “fear, dread, terror” or “that which strikes terror.” It is the word from which we derive the English term phobia—an irrational fear of something or someone. Some people are afraid of spiders, and this is called arachnophobia. Others are afraid of closed spaces, and this is called claustrophobia. In every instance of a phobia, there is an irrational belief that distorts reality. The truth is, in certain cases, a spider or a closed space might harm a person, but overall, the likelihood is very low. Yet when someone has a phobia, they believe something that doesn’t really have the potency or probability of affecting them negatively will do just that.

The Bible says that there is no fear in love. We cannot be in fear and faith at the same time because faith works by love. (See Galatians 5:6.) If you are going to live a miraculous life, you must conquer fear. Two thousand years ago, Jesus triumphed over fear on the cross, and we must appropriate His victory today in our lives. Phobos fear is based on a lie because it is contrary to the Word of God. Fear is motivated by what we think, see, or hear. Faith is motivated by what God says!

False Evidence
When we fear, we accept “evidence” that appears real but is false. And by operating in fear, we are placing our belief and expectation in something destructive.

Let me be clear: there are natural fears. For example, if someone jumps out of the bushes and runs toward you with a knife, it is natural to be alarmed, leading to a “fight or flight” response of self-preservation. I am not saying that we won’t ever find ourselves in a genuinely difficult or even dangerous situation. Such circumstances can occur, and they are real. However, even then, God’s love and faith can replace our fear with trust in His presence, power, and protection.

But there are also many unnatural fears, even if they have some basis in reality, such as a fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of abandonment, or fear of exposure. It is critical that we recognize the difference between natural and unnatural fears. It is also important to note that remaining in a state of fear is unnatural. We should never continue in any negative state for a prolonged period of time because it can have a damaging effect on us spiritually, emotionally, mentally, or physically. We were not created for fear and worry!

Just as with phobias in the natural world, every area of bo***ge in a believer’s life is connected to a lie they have believed—about God, themselves, or their circumstances. Once the lie is broken, the bo***ge is released. The devil wants to keep many people trapped in fear because if they continue to believe lies about themselves or others, they will remain in a place of stagnation or become further weakened in their faith. Jesus calls us beyond the place of fear into the place of faith, where we are empowered to live supernaturally.

For you have not received the spirit of bo***ge again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (Romans 8:15)

For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

The Greek word translated “fear” in 2 Timothy 1:7 is also the term for “timidity” or “cowardice.” It is clear that fear can quench the manifestation of the supernatural. To see the power of God demonstrated in your life, you cannot be timid. You must be willing to take risks. There are certain spiritual blessings and manifestations that you will never experience until you take a risk. What you desire is beyond the threshold of fear. Often, people will pray for a certain experience or manifestation from God, but they want to remain in their comfort zone, which can include any place of spiritual stagnation. We have to move out of our comfort zone.

You and I were designed to be full of faith! We are meant to live in a continual state of expectation about what God will do next. We are meant to live in anticipation of good things happening in our lives. The nature of our born-again spirit is faith and power, not fear and paralysis.
