*Rev. Fr. Victor Ibawa Ratifies Five Marriages at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Afokpella-Okpella on the 2nd May, 2026*
St. Patrick Catholic Church, Afokpella-Okpella, was filled with joy and celebration as the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Victor Ibawa, officiated the ratification of five marriages during a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
The ceremony began with the Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Ibawa. In his homily, he expressed gratitude to all present, especially the couples whose marriages were being ratified. He commended them for taking the bold and faith-filled step of inviting Jesus Christ into their marital union.
Fr. Ibawa emphasized the importance of mutual respect in marriage, noting that it plays a vital role in strengthening relationships and ensuring lasting harmony between couples.
Following the homily, the five couples were formally joined in Holy Matrimony. They exchanged rings as a symbol of their enduring love and fidelity.
After the second part of the liturgy, the newly wed Catholic wives were formally welcomed into the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) of Nigeria. The initiation was marked with prayers and the presentation of devotional items by members of the organisation.
The Mass concluded with closing remarks from Rev. Fr. Ibawa, who gave thanks to God for the success of the occasion and encouraged the couples to remain steadfast in their faith and commitment.
The celebration continued with a photo session and light refreshments shared among parishioners and guests.
