*HAPPY FEAST OF ST. JEROME OUR PATRON SAINT*
*(September 30)*
St. Jerome, one of the great Doctors of the Church, is best, remembered for his monumental work of translating the Bible into Latin, producing the Vulgate, which became the standard test of Scripture for the Western Church for over a millennium.
A brilliant scholar and ascetic, he spent much of his life in Bethlehem, where he combined deep study of Hebrew and Greek with a life of prayer and penance.
Jerome also wrote extensive biblical commentaries, letters and theological works, shaping Christian understanding of Scripture and doctrine for centuries and even to this day.
*Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ - St. Jerome.*
On behalf of the National Chaplain and Executive members, I write to you on this blessed day of our Patron Saint to wish you all a happy feast day and to sincerely thanked you all for your steadfastness and dedication to the Proclamation of the Gospel. Your support and contributions has brought us this far, though not without challenges.
As we continue to reflect on the life and times of our Patron Saint, let's also remember our members, those of blessed memories, who contributed immensely to this course, those critical sick without hope, and those in need, that St. Jerome will continue to intercede for their souls, grant healing to the sick ones and grant heart desires and Peace to all, Amen.
More so, let me use this opportunity to thanked again all Lectors for the successes achieved during our 3rd National Conference and 10th year celebration held at Cross River State, Calabar.
