TOPIC: THE DANGER OF INFIDELITY

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.” Then Abimelek king of Gerar sent for SARAH and TOOK HER. But God came to Abimelek in a dream one night and said to him, “YOU are as good as DEAD BECAUSE of the woman you have taken; she is a MARRIED woman.”
Genesis 20:2‭-‬3 NIV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Abraham again said that Sarah was his sister instead of his wife thereby giving Abimelech the opportunity to take her to be his wife. This shows that what you call or the way you treat your spouse before others will determine what they will do with or for her.

2. Abimelech was sincere BUT God didn't care why he had to take ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE. This shows that you don't have any excuse whatsoever to INTERFERE with another person's marriage. BEWARE!!

3. Abraham couldn't FIGHT Abimelech to recover his wife but God intervened for him. God is still fighting for the less privileged. Don't think that you can take away another person's spouse because you are stronger than him or her and go free

4. God said that Abimelech is like a dead man for taking Abraham's wife. This shows the STATE of anyone INTERFERING WITH PEOPLE'S MARRIAGE. You may think that you are "ENJOYING" but God is seeing you as a dead man, meaning that your life is as useless as a co**se. GOD FORBID

TOPIC: BY ALL MEANS BE HOSPITABLE

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY: Now the two angels came to S***m in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of S***m. When LOT SAW them, he ROSE to MEET them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, “Here now, my Lords, PLEASE TURN in to your SERVANT'S HOUSE and SPEND the NIGHT, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” But he INSISTED STRONGLY; so THEY TURNED IN to him and ENTERED his HOUSE. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. Genesis 19:1‭-‬3 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Lot persuaded two men whom he didn't know were angels that God sent to destroy S***m and Gomorrah to come and pass the night in his house. Again like we saw in the case of Abraham, Lot didn't consult his wife and family members before inviting these men. Couples should learn to ACCOMMODATE the RIGHT DECISIONS of their spouses even without official meeting.

2. Though the men objected his offer, he INSISTED STRONGLY and they TURNED IN and ENTERED his house. Lot insisted for some reasons which includes that the city was corrupt and it will be dangerous for the men to sleep on the street. This shows that sometimes we need to insist that people accept our gifts or offers especially when we know that it's the best for them.

3. This hospitality earned Lot and his family deliverance from the judgement that was to come upon the cities of S***m and Gomorrah. What if he didn't offer to host them or that he didn't insist that they accept his offer? No wonder the Bible encourages us to entertain strangers ( Heb. 13:2). Your hospitality today can speak and work for your generations unborn. Be HOSPITABLE!

🙏 PRAYER: Lord help us to be led by You to be hospitable even when we have to do it without consulting our spouses and family members in Jesus name

TOPIC: A CHALLENGE TO ALL WIVES AND WIVES TO BE

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY: So Abraham hurried into the TENT TO SARAH and said, “QUICKLY, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate. Genesis 18:6‭-‬8 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. When Abraham succeeded in convincing the Lord and the angels to come into his house for lunch, he HURRIED into his house and asked Sarah who probably was resting because of the HEAT of the day (verse 1b) to QUICKLY prepare food for three men, she OBEYED. How many women will respond positively and quickly to such instruction without complain especially when there was no prior notice?

2. Abraham didn't discuss with Sarah before inviting these guests, yet he rushed into the house and asked her to quickly prepare food knowing that she will not object. It means that Sarah had been known for quick obedience to the demands of Abraham. If she had not been responding positively, Abraham would have been hesitant to inviting the Lord or for involving Sarah in the matter. This shows that ones attitude to his or her spouse affects the spouse's operations negatively or positively.

3. Quick obedience is one of the marks of submission. True submission is serving and obeying your master at HIS OWN TERMS and TIME without complaining. God wants everyone to serve Him at His own terms and time. Are you serving Him that way?

TOPIC: A CHALLENGE TO FATHERS

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
So Abraham TOOK ISHMAEL his son, ALL who were born in HIS HOUSE and ALL who were BOUGHT with HIS MONEY, every male among the MEN of ABRAHAM'S HOUSE, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him. Genesis 17:23 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Abraham TOOK ISHMAEL his son, ALL who were born in HIS HOUSE and ALL who were BOUGHT with HIS MONEY, every male among the MEN of ABRAHAM'S HOUSE... This shows that Abraham was in control of his household meaning that God expects every man to be in charge of every soul under his roof.
This Abraham's character was what God saw when He said, "I have known him, in order that HE MAY COMMAND HIS CHILDREN and HIS HOUSEHOLD aftel that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” Genesis 18:19 NKJV. No wonder a man ruling his household well is a criteria to becoming a minister of God ( 2Tim. 3:4-5).

2. Until a man stand up for this responsibility of bringing his family to follow God, God's promises to him and his family will not be achieved (Gen. 18:19c). If God helped Abraham to succeed, He will help us.

TOPIC: YOU TOO ARE A FOUNDATION

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
And the Angel of the Lord SAID TO HER: “Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, BECAUSE the Lord has heard your affliction. HE SHALL BE a WILD MAN; His hand shall be against every man, And every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” Genesis 16:11‭-‬12 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Hagar though a gentile (an unbeliever) got the destiny of her child from the angel. May I ask every parent, what did God say or is saying about the future of those your children?

2. The NAME of the boy was Ishmael BECAUSE God heard the affliction of the MOTHER. Name is the carrier of ones destiny. This shows that parents are somewhat the FOUNDATION of their children and the REASON for what happens to them in life. Today some people are running helter scalter seeking for deliverance while others are enjoying because of what their ancestors did. If you realize that you are somebody's ancestor you will be careful of the things you do so as not to put them into problems BUT into prosperity.

3. The Lord said, HE SHALL BE a WILD MAN; His hand shall be against every man... This prophecy is the reason the Moslems are troubling the world today. Remember, Ishmael was conceived after God had made a covenant with Abram and promised to make his children like the stars of heaven. Abram didn't stand by that word or he wouldn't have gone to bed with Hagar. This shows that leaving outside God's word will always lead to trans-generational problems. Let us be careful.

🙏 PRAYER: Father reveal the destinies of each of my children to me to enable me guide them properly. Also let my life be a blessing to my children and generations unborn in Jesus name 🙏.

TOPIC: RETURN AND SUBMIT

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
The Angel of the Lord said to her, “ RETURN to your mistress, and SUBMIT yourself under her hand.” Genesis 16:9 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. The Angel said to Hagar RETURN to YOUR MISTRESS. You remember what led to her running away? She despised her mistress who reacted by treating her harshly. This shows that God doesn't want misunderstanding to separate us. Some spouses or children may not have packed out of the house like Hagar, but they are not there. To such people the Holy Spirit is saying this morning, RETURN.

2. SUBMIT YOURSELF under her was another instruction the Angel gave to Hagar. To submit means among other things to bring yourself under the control and leadership of another. Couples are to submit to one another BUT WIVES were commanded specially to SUBMIT to their husbands (Eph. 5:21- 22). Children are commanded to submit to their parents, servants are also commanded to submit to their masters (Eph. 6:1-3; 5-9). If these orders are obeyed, there will be peace and harmony in the home. Child of God, submit to those God has placed over you.

TOPIC: DON'T FORGET YOUR ROOT

📖 VERSE OF THE DAY:
And He said, “Hagar, SARAI'S MAID, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” Gen. 16:8 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. The Angel addressed Hagar (though a wife and now an expectant mother) as SARAI'S MAID. This shows that no matter who you become, you need not forget your root or where you are coming from. To forget where you are coming from is an indication that you don't even know where you are going and will get nowhere. There's need for husband and wife to always know where they started and reflect on the journey so far, else their journey may crash on the way.

2. ON THE OTHER HAND, please as you climb up on the ladder of life, you need to address your root/foundation or else it will pull you down. Can you imagine somebody's WIFE and an expectant mother being addressed as another person's MAID? If Hagar HAD DEALT WITH HER FOUNDATION (Sarai's maid) before or after she got married to Abram, she would have been addressed as Hagar, Abram's wife.

3. MARRIAGE is LEGAL ONLY when BRIDE PRICE or dowry is PAID. But we were not told that Abram paid bride price for Hagar. Perhaps this is why the Angel called her Sarai's maid instead of Abram's wife. This shows that the spirit realms don't always see things the way the physical world sees them

PLEASE if you are reading this post and you know that you are in an illegal relationship or marriage, not minding how many children you have already, go and legalize it otherwise in the spiritual world you are not seen as a married person and hence the RIGHTS and privileges of married people will NOT be given to you.

TOPIC: ACTIONS AND REACTIONS

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid is in your hand; do to her as you please.” And WHEN Sarai DEALT HARSHLY with her, SHE FLED from her presence. Now the ANGEL of the Lord FOUND HER by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. Genesis 16:6‭-‬7 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. WHEN Sarai DEALT HARSHLY with her, SHE FLED.. Hagar's ACTION towards Sarai her mistress made Sarai to deal harshly with her. This shows that sometimes it is actions of one party in a relationship that trigger up reactions from the other party. That change (reaction) you see from your spouse, children or people around you could be as a result of your actions. So, before you begin to complain that your spouse, children or people's attitudes toward you are changing, first reflect on your own actions (behavior).

2. Now the ANGEL of the Lord FOUND HER.. Hagar rejected by man, found by an angel. There are two things to note here:
i. That men have rejected you because of your actions doesn't mean that God has rejected you.

ii. We should NOT be quick to write people off.

TOPIC: SLAVE BECOMES A WIFE

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, TOOK Hagar HER MAID, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband ABRAM to BE his WIFE, after ABRAM had dwelt TEN YEARS in the land of Canaan. So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And WHEN she saw that she had conceived, her MISTRESS became DESPISED in her eyes. Genesis 16:3‭-‬4 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE
1. Sarai took her slave girl and gave to Abram her husband to be his wife. What a promotion, from slave to wife. This shows that it doesn't take God anything to promote someone. So, just depend and wait on Him.
HOWEVER, I want to emphasize that POLYGAMY IS NOT GOD'S WILL for the New Testament believers. We're only looking at the principles that played.
INFACT these two wives: Sarai and Hagar represent TWO COVENANT'S (the promise and the law respectively) and the law as you know has been done away with (Gal. 4:24-31).

2. This promotion of Hagar was ten years after their return from Egypt. Two things to note here:

i. Hagar's promotion to a wife was as a result of Sarai's delay in conception. It means that sometimes God may allow somebody's pain for your gain.

ii. Hagar's promotion to wife was ten years after their return from Egypt. This shows that Sarai had waited for another ten years in addition to the ones spent before going to Egypt and white in Egypt. You MAY NOT really blame her BUT you need to know that delay is not denial. Anyone reading this post that is trusting God for a life partner, fruit of the womb, or anything good, you are receiving it now, your status is changing in the name of Jesus.

3. WHEN Hagar saw that she had conceived, her MISTRESS became DESPISED in her eyes. This is not right at all. Don't allow your possession to lead you to pride and having contempt for people. One should NOT bite the fingers that fed her. BEWARE, to pay evil for good leads to perpetual pain (Pro. 17:13).

🙏 PRAYER: Father help me not to give up at my point of promotion. Help me not to be proud because of your blessings or look down on the less privileged in Jesus name 🙏

TOPIC: BE CONVINCED AND PERSUADED OF GOD'S PROMISES

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
NOW Sarai, Abram’s wife, HAD BORNE him NO CHILDREN. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. So Sarai said to Abram, “SEE NOW, the LORD has RESTRAINED me from bearing children. PLEASE, GO in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children BY her.” And ABRAM HEEDED the voice of Sarai. Genesis 16:1‭-‬2 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. NOW Sarai, Abram’s wife, HAD BORNE him NO CHILDREN. It's NOW that Sarai had BORN NO CHILDREN. That doesn't mean that she will never have because God had promised them children. It means that that deficiency you have NOW is just for a moment, it doesn't mean that you will never have God's promises fulfilled in your life. LISTEN, the good things of life you are lacking today you will be the distributor tomorrow.

2. SEE NOW, the LORD has RESTRAINED me from bearing children. Sarai concluded that it was God restraining her from having children. DON'T ALWAYS BLAME God for your predicament, in all circumstances He means well for you because He loves you.

3. ABRAM HEEDED the voice of Sarai..Should Abram have listened and agreed with Sarai if he was convinced and persuaded of his encounters with God? I believe that if he was convinced, he would have tried to convince his wife. Couples and families should be persuaded of God's dealing with them so that they don't get carried away in the face of opposition.

🙏 PRAYER: Father help me to be persuaded about your promises to me and my family so that I don't give up in time of delay.

TOPIC: YOUR FAMILY/HOME IS A TRAINING GROUND

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, HE ARMED his three hundred and eighteen TRAINED SERVANTS who were born in HIS OWN HOUSE, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people. Genesis 14:14‭-‬16 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Abram WENT to rescue Lot with the armies BORN AND TRAINED IN HIS OWN HOUSE. This shows that families are supposed to be training grounds to raise the armies that will be used to set the captives free. Can you imagine what the world would have been if every family is really a TRAINING GROUND ? May I ask you, "How are you training those under your roof?

2. Abram didn't depend or wait for the government of Canaan to go and fight to set the captives free. May you NEVER have to depend on the government of your nation to set the captives free in Jesus name. The RESOURCES YOU need to raise soldiers of Christ in your house receive now in Jesus name 🙏.

🙏 PRAYER: Father I ask and receive grace, and all that is required to train everyone under my care to be effective and efficient soldier of Christ to set free the captives of my generation in Jesus name 🙏.

TOPIC: FORGET THE OFFENCE AND FIGHT FOR YOUR BROTHER

📖 VERSES OF THE DAY:
Now WHEN ABRAM heard that HIS BROTHER was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen TRAINED servants who were BORN in HIS OWN HOUSE, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people. Genesis 14:14‭-‬16 NKJV

✍️✍️ POINTS TO NOTE:
1. Abram and Lot had issues that led to their separation. Lot took ALL THE WELL WATERED PLAINS (Gen. 13:10-11). It was this well watered land where Lot was living that Amraphel king of Shinar and other kings invaded and carried him captive. (Gen. 14:11-12).

2. WHEN Abram HEARD that Lot was taken captive, he went to fight. The truth is that if Abram didn't forget the past, he wouldn't have gone to rescue Lot. If you were Abram, what would you have said or done? Brethren, we need to forget the offences of the past if we MUST be of use to God and humanity.

3. Couples must learn to forgive one another and forget the past in other to move forward. Parents must not see their children with the eyes of the past failures in other to see the future of those children and help them to achieve it.

🙏 PRAYER: Father help me never to harbor unforgiveness and hatred that I will not be able to reach out to help my offensive, spouse, child or brethren in Jesus name 🙏.
