How Faith Receives
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24)
We typically “pray” hoping that God will grant our request. In our hearts we maintain a sense of need, of lack, and want. Every time we go to God, it is from a place of want. Once we have prayed, we continue to hope that God will move in our favor to alleviate our need. In the meantime, we speak of “waiting for the manifestation.” There is no assurance until we see or feel the hoped for result.
This is why many get frustrated and even offended at God. They see the need, but they don’t “see” and receive the answer. Their hearts remain in the state of need even after they have prayed.
Jesus said, “believe that you have received it.” “Have received” is past tense. It is the conviction that the need is met. If the need is met, then I can act like the need is met. I can talk like it. I can give thanks for it. The conviction of the heart can either be, “I’m waiting for the manifestation,” or, “I have what I have believed for.” One statement is unbelief. The other is faith.
Those who “have received” will step into the heart reality of being fully persuaded and thankful. There is no doubt, no double mindedness, and no frustration. The treasure within is bringing forth the answer that already exists in the Spirit (Mt. 12:35). Having “received” in the Spirit is faith. Not just “hope,” but faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb. 11:1)
When “substance” and “evidence” are alive in your heart, there is peace, thankfulness, and joy. There is no doubt.
…while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Cor. 4:18)
“See” yourself healed. “See” the need met. “See” the mountain of your problem moved. Act like it. Talk like it. Be fully persuaded.
